Jean has just looked after our lab Jessie whilst we've been away & Jessie has come back so happy after her stay! The communication with Jean has been fantastic; Jessie went for an initial meet & greet, then a practice overnight stay, before she stayed longer whilst we were on holiday. Jean let us know that Jessie was happy & settled whilst we were away. Thank you so much Jean for looking after our family dog so that we could relax whilst we were away!

My shepherd goes to Jean on a weekly basis for doggy day care. He absolutely loves going to hers and playing with the other doggys. Always tired when I pick him up so I know he’s being well looked after and having the best time . Lovely woman who loves her dogs and has a lot of time for each individual one.

On introducing my dog to Jean, I initially thought she didn’t seem to have much love for dogs as she wasn’t very warm. I thought maybe that was the way she dealt with them to let them know she was in charge so I went with it. I knew it was best to let my husband deal with her as I didn’t like her attitude, and all was fine when it was on her terms.. I booked my lovely boy jack in for another weekend just so he could play with some dogs and she cancelled at the last minute because she had covid. Fair enough but I could have lost a lot of money on hotels and flights had I been going away and I’m sure she would want compensation if the same happened in reverse. I’d also be very wary about her charges as I paid £25 for an overnight stay then £12.50 on top for the day. Today however, she charged £45 when we picked him up at 12.30pm. She said it was £20 extra because she couldn’t book any other dogs in as we were late and also argued that she’s never charged £12.50 ever. Myself and my husbands word against hers. My poor dog was locked in the kitchen while she was out and her husband didn’t even know our dog. I’m appalled that she’s able to be in this business at all as one, she doesn’t do it for the love of dogs and two, doesn’t seem to have a clear business price list. Be very wary folks, I would really not recommend!!

Excellent! We had a very bad experience with a kennels in Crakehall. We came to Jean on recommendation and our dog met her and her dogs for a while before we booked him in for a week. He settled in fine and Jean has been a excellent "Auntie". Could not have wished for better care and have already booked next years holidays with confidence. Would highly recommend

Unreliable. They got dates mixed up twice, which meant our cat was left for longer than we agreed. The final time, we decided to cut our trip short because he would be left alone for too long. They did arrange someone to pop in on him one last time after I expressed how anxious this unplanned change had made me, however had I not initiated contact and said how anxious I was, this would not have happened. In all cases where things have happened (including them saying they had dropped our key off, but realised they still had it and we’re on holiday so we wouldn’t get it back for a while) there was never an apology. I felt like we were polite and understanding on all occasions, we understand mix ups happen, but we never received an apology once, we often were left to feel as if they were doing us a favour instead of being paid for it. The final straw was the second mix up of dates which would of left our cat alone for longer than was agreed. We won’t be using them again.

Still only use Petpals whenever we go away, if Jean cannot accommodate (which is very rare) we change the dates as having Corbyn board here is more important to us than the dates we go away. Jean now has a doggy swimming pool as well in the good weather. In the words of Tina Turner she's "simply the best" !

Jean is genuinely a fantastic petpals company owner. She knows how to work with all pets that are in her care, she's been looking after my boys for nearly 10 years. She's knowledgable and has the experience, I could never go to any else.

Called for details for a 1 day dog sit from 10.00 till 5pm. Still not sure if the lady could help or not I called last week with regard to the sit on the 21st Dec for the family to visit my son for his 40th birthday. I know I spoke to the owner either from Catterick or Richmond

Enquired about dog sitting but they refused due to animal welfare as dogs would be left over night for one night...

Great care for our family dog

The best place for our cats and dogs. Always incredibly polite and caring to our (sometimes difficult) animals. Our dog is very nervous and they are always excellent with her and give her the time she needs. Very reasonably priced and lovely location and kennels.

Our dog is very well looked after here ... no issues at all when taking her back home . Would recommend ... not the cheapest but not the dearest.. but for peace of mind.. excellent

Beautiful Grounds with Stunning Views, Clean and Lovely Owners who are Happy to Chat and don't just want to get you in and Out. Just Picked Our 10 Month Old Frenchie who went in Kennels for the 1st Time and He came out looking so Happy, Was Still Jumping all over the Staff as We was Leaving so You can Tell he was Happy with his Stay, Would Recommend to Anyone, Thankyou so Much to everyone at Low Chantry

Absolutely the only one place I would leave my furry best friend. The staff really do care for your animal. I would like to thank all of the staff who cared and looked after my friend, you really did an amazing job. Thank you again.

Our boxer dog Daisy was looked after perfectly for a two week stay. her first and hopefully not her last visit. She was in good health and spirits when we collected her and gave an affectionate farewell to all the staff. Thank you.

My dog Meg has been in a few kennels but this one far outshines them all. Pat and Stan really care for the animals they board. Pat noticed a change in the behavior of my dog and suggested a vet visit. I took her advice and the vet found a mass on her spleen. The vet operated and Meg is making a good recovery. If Pat had not been aware of how my dog behaved things could have been very different. How good to leave your family pet in the hands of people who really do care. I am so grateful to Pat, without her concern things could have been very different. Meg always seems happy to be there too.

Doggo loved his stay. Friendly staff, excellent facilities for pup. Well run and lovely staff there on hand for all questions and concerns.

I put my English bull terrier bailey in low chantry kennels 3 to 4 times a year, all the staff are great and look after him, I can go away and know he's in good hands.

I cannot be anymore grateful for the quality of service I received after taking my two rabbits for some much needed grooming. The knowledge, professionalism and care shown was 11/10. I wish to say a personal thankyou, both from me and my partner and I will definitely be re-booking in due course.

This is the 3rd time Jane has looked after my hamster Bertie and the first two times seem to have been fine but I cannot even describe how upset and angry I am when I have returned home with him this time after leaving him for just over 2 weeks. There was mountains of wee in the corners and his litter tray, his bed was dirty and all wet with mould at the bottom. The water was stagnant and had scum in it. My poor baby has been living in these conditions. I wouldn’t normally do this but this is a living creature who needs and deserves the best care and this was not it.

Brilliant place to leave your Rabbits , well looked after and very reasonable price wise. Lovely woman . Highly recommend. Thank you for looking after my rabbits so well Kind Regards Tracey Green Shafton

My treasured pet rabbits have stayed here on numerous occasions. I know while they are there they are in extremely safe hands with masses of rabbit knowledge and experience.

Perfect little business, convenient personal service where they know your pets by look not just by name.

We had two dogs sharing, for 10 days. When we returned the dogs were happy, clean and healthy. They both required daily prescribed drugs, this was managed very well, my youngest dog a boarder collie had learnt some much needed manners. I would and will use these kennels again. I cannot recommend them more highly enough. From drop off to pick up the staff were totally professional and friendly 👌

This was Sally's second stay, she thoroughly enjoyed it (and the staff loved having her stay) Sally enjoyed herself so much that she slept on and off for two days when she got home. You'll be delighted to know she is now back to her lazy life catching ball and going for the occasional walk. Thanks to all the staff for looking after her.

Absolutely great. Lovely initial welcome and shown around, very happy at layout of kennels and quieter area for our older girl. We left both dogs and both appeared happy at the end of their stay. Family were able to say things they had noticed about the dogs which showed their care when spending time with them. Booked in again without hesitation.

Lovely ladies with a wonderful feel for their doggy guests. Leo always runs in happily getting hugs on the way, and ism in great spirits when we pick him up. He stays there three or four times a year. We highly recommend.

My dog Micah has only ever been in kennels once before when we got married. This was his first full week stay anywhere and he seemed to have a lovely time. Would recommend and use again.

Ted has just returned from his stay at the kennels. Lovely pleasant owner who obviously cares about the dogs and the service they offer. He will certainly be going back in the future.

The most amazing kennels, our staffy absoloutley loves staying here and they treat our girl like family. After some negative experiences at other kennels, these guys have given us the reassurance that she is well taken care of when staying at Mahon House.

We were very cautious about leaving our girl anywhere after having a terrible experience with a previous kennels. Heather showed us around the entire site and showed us where Harriet would be staying. She put our minds at rest with her knowledge and enthusiasm. We left Harry for two weeks and she had a better holiday than we did! She was relaxed and happy and so excited on our return. She clearly loved Heather and vice versa. I recommend Mahon highly and would give 10 stars if I could. A massive thank you to Heather and we will definitely have no more worries about Harriet when we need to go away.

My dog has stayed here several times this year and he appeared happy, clean and well kept, staff were lovely.

We have a rescue greyhound called Carney since 25/1/24, so we were wary in choosing kennels which were safe, secure and dog friendly, We had read the reviews and went to Mahon kennels to check if it was suitable for our precious boy. When we arrived with Carney to check out the kennels, a lady was just going to pick up her dog and I asked how satisfied she was with the kennels she advised this was 3rd time she had used the kennels, which were excellent and her dog loved going there, in fact her brother currently had his dog in the kennels and also regularly used the kennels. The staff were friendly and fussed over her dog who loved coming and wagged his tail each time going in and out of kennels. We were given a tour of the kennels and facilities and Carney was really at ease and relaxed with his tour. The staff were very dog focused, knowledgeable and eased any worries we may have had. Carney is a very sociable and people dog, we dropped him off on 20th October, he bounded into kennels, tail wagging and never gave my husband or I a second look!! We were confident leaving Carney as the enthusiasm of the kennel staff in greeting Carney was second to none. We picked Carney up on 29th October, he was wagging his tail, looked totally happy to see us, feedback was excellent, he ate all his meals, enjoyed his walks, no issues, and his tail was constantly wagging the whole time he was at kennels, he interacted with staff and other dogs and was a pleasure to look after. Carney has settled back home no problem, we are delighted with his treatment at kennels. We have so much confidence in Mahon kennels that we have now booked Carney in for 5 days at New Year. A definite 5 stars *****, your dog 🐶 will not be disappointed!!

Best kennels I have ever used. My dog was cared for to the highest of standards , staff are Fabulous can't praise them enough, they clearly love their work and Milo was very happy there. Thank you so much.

Have used wilderbrook kennels for over 10 years looking after our husky ( who sadly we lost earlier this week ) Maya my husky was all ways well looked after by all the staff at wilderbrook and couldn’t recommend them enough. Sometimes she would stay with them for over a month when we were travelling and never given a 2nd thought to dropping her off. Staff are approachable, understanding and happy for a check up message on what’s app or a call.

Wallace loved his stay, could not have asked for more.

My two cats have stayed at The Secret Garden three times now, and I am extremely happy leaving them there. The pens are immaculate, as is the entire cattery. It's very clean, with no smell of cat wee, which I've smelt in other catteries. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners, and I know, without a doubt, my boys are well-cared for. Thank you so much! An excellent cattery, which I would not hesitate to recommend.

It's really reassuring to know your pet will be looked after. The team went above and beyond when they had to take our dog to the vet on a Sunday morning. Even though we were out of the country, they made sure we were kept up to date even though this was all at the last minute. We've used a number of kennels with various pets over the years, but Wilderbrook is one of the best.

This is the first time my dog has been in kennels and I was so worried about him. He stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time. There was definitely no need to worry and I'll definitely be using the kennels again. Thankyou Wilderbrook .

Always take our cat here as always has seemed happy with good accommodation with friendly professional staff. Price seems fair, and also has dog kennel options too. Some narrow roads to get there but also fairly easy to find.

Thank You Top Dog Luxury Boarding Kennels ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend as always. My 3 x Miniature Dachshunds have just spent a week there whilst i have just had a much needed week away after a not so good 7 months. I was contacted during this week with lots of videos of my 3 playing with the girls and looking very happy. It put my mind at ease even though i already knew they would get the best care. My oldest Dachshund is now Diabetic & also has Cushings disease. It wasn't a problem for trained staff to administer his medication twice daily. Lovely clean environment. Excellent staff Great communication I was able to take my Dachshunds to the room they was allocated and put their things just how they like them at home. Thank You very much to you Martin & your amazing staff.

We've just used Top Dogs for the first time for our Cocker Spaniel, Monty. This was the first time Monty had stayed away from home so were a little nervous but as soon as we met Martin and his team we knew Monty would be really well cared for and fit in well. When we arrived the team were kind and attentive and helped us settle Monty into his temporary new home. Whilst away we received fabulous videos and photos showing Monty having lots of fun on his walks and chasing his beloved ball. We cannot thank Martin and his team enough for the wonderful care they provided and have already made another booking for next year.

We have recently had a wonderful experience using Top Dog Kennels for the first time for our precious (and rather needy!) boxers Reggie & Lottie. We were extremely nervous so being able to visit with them prior to our stay was a godsend- as we’re all the wonderful videos of the dogs having a great holiday of their own! Reggie is very nervous and has not done well in kennels before - but this is different. The team at Top Dog were patient and kind and looked after him so well; we really felt they knew our dogs- and it was kisses all round for them from Lottie before we left for home! We cannot thankyou enough or recommend more. 👏🐾🐾

Our boys had an amazing time at Top Dog Kennels! Throughout their stay I had regular updates on how they were getting on, including some beautiful pictures taken by Katie and Darcy! Will definitely use them next time we want to go away. The dogs are so well looked after, all home comforts including beds, usual food and toys go with them so it’s like a home from home. Very impressed! Their attention to detail and devotion to the service makes them the best hands to leave your loved pooches in.

This is such an amazing place! We’ve just picked up our 3 dogs from their long weekend staying at Top Dog for the first time. Two of the dogs - aged 7 and 4 - have never been to kennels before and we were really worried about leaving them but our concerns were totally unfounded. From the moment I booked them in with Martin on the telephone to the very thorough check in process with the wonderful Katy we felt totally reassured. On the photos they sent us our dogs looked relaxed and happy which made us relaxed and happy. Katy and Darcy are angels - thank you so much to you both - we really appreciate all your kindness, thoughtfulness and the love you showed our dogs, and Martin is a total star. Thank you so much - we will be seeing you next year!

Beautiful place and wonderful team! My dog (Trufa) stayed here for two months, and Martin and the team took so good care of her. They are all so caring and supportive. Many thanks to Katy, Darcy, Lydia and Emma for sending regular pictures and lovely edited videos of Trufa. Special thanks to Katy for spending much of her days with my dog. She even brought her back in her car in her day off so I’m extremely thankful for all the support they gave us. Definitely recommend this place, it is a bit far away but it is worth the travel, as you can be certain that your dog will be in good hands. Also, they have plenty of space for dogs to explore and run. I’m sure we’ll come back! Many thanks!

A fabulous place for dogs to stay - the best I have ever come across! This really is a home from home and our two dogs, Bill & Tess were extremely well looked after. Martin is friendly, caring & extremely knowledgeable about dogs and what they need. You know on first meeting him that your dogs are in safe hands. Many thanks to Katy, Darcy & Charley for their hard work & kindness & for all the great photos & videos of Bill & Tess that they sent regularly while we were away. Looking forward to seeing you all again very soon!

I planned a trip , short notice and booked a dog hotel in the South of York for our Larger than life Dog , Bruno. We decided to go view the property the night before and were horrified. It looked like a run down SPCA. Bruno was found at the SPCA. We panicked and started to frantically google new places. We then came across Top Dog. I gave Martin a call who went out of his way to help us on very short notice. The facility is fantastic. The staff were wonderful. We received many updates on Bruno and how he was doing. I highly recommend Martin and Top Dog. We will definitely be back. They might be a little more expensive but you get what you pay for.

Wouldn't leave my dog with anyone but Martin and his team, brilliant service go above and beyond for your dog, Teddy had his birthday while staying there Martin happily cooked my boy fillet steak for his birthday breakfast. Whilst away got updates every day and photos and videos of him on his walks. The girls who walked and played with him was also brilliant my Ted loved them and didn't even want to leave one of them behind when he had to come home lol. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for leaving there dog while away. Rooms are lovely little tvs all done out in different designs fake fire so your dog feels more homely. Was like his own little 16 day holiday. Thank you all again for taking care of my furbaby, if I could give you a higher star rating than 5 star I would. Kelly and Teddy x

Our dog Luna stayed recently…. What can we say…….. absolutely superb. She was treated like a little Princess. The accommodation is awesome, they are so thorough in getting to understand your dogs needs but the biggy for us was the absolute love and care offered… very spoilt and so relaxed when we collected her. The best bit was the daily videos and pics and updates on progress..the carer was brilliant. . We are very, Very impressed indeed… needless to say, she’ll be visiting this luxury doggy hotel in the future when needed. Very impressed and well done… big thanks from us. Mark, Claire and Luna x
