I have been using Becky’s Pet Care since 2021 and could not be more grateful for the care that has been shown to our cat, Spock. Carl has been the person mostly taking care of him all these years and he’s wonderful! I am never worried about whether Spock will be fed, or litter taken care of. Becky’s Pet Care is easy to schedule, and if you need to cancel, very easy to do so as well. Highly recommend!

This place is the best! After Alexandria Pet Care cancelled a dog walking/pet visit while I was away, Becky’s came through. The walkers loved the dogs - and while my son was there recovering from surgery - you could tell they were real dog people. There were four dogs of various temperaments and Becky’s staff shined!!

I have used this service periodically for the past two years. I simply would not entrust the care of my kitties to any other service. I really value the care given by Becky's Pet Care and highly recommend them.

Working with Becky's Pet Care has been a great experience. The company is upfront with policies, cost, and caretaker training. The couple times I have needed to contact the company with questions, I have received quick responses. Scheduling mid-day walks from the client portal is really straightforward. Elaine has been great with my dog who takes a while to warm up to strangers; she's been calmly working on building up his trust week after week. It's a huge relief to see the post-visit journal updates on how each visit went while I'm still at work.

Becky's cares for our two dogs and three cats when we are away. Their dedication, care, and attention to detail are phenomenal. I can't say enough what a wonderful job they do, and most importantly, the dogs and cats all love the care takers.

I've been a client of the company for almost a decade now, uses service when I've been unable to find friend or family to assist. I booked a service on 6/6 for the July 4th holiday weekend. Three weeks later on 6/25 (1 week before a major holiday) I received an automated email that services are unavailable. After a follow up email asking why this was canceled, it was stated that they work on a first-come first-serve basis and apologize for the inconvenience. That's perfectly fine and understandable, however it should be coordinated before booking the service, not 3 weeks after, and 1 week before a major holiday is completely unacceptable. If I can't rely on the service I request, then I can't use the service, it's that simple. I could have been looking for alternate solutions for the past 3-weeks instead of scrambling at the end.

Meet Meadow, she's a 6 month old German Shepherd! We have been very pleased with our training lessons with Meaghan at OTP-Springfield. We really appreciate her philosophy of understanding your dog's intrinsic nature, respecting that and working in such as way that brings harmony for human and dog. In one of the photos you can see a shoulder leash. Meaghan recommended after discussing my challenge of teaching a strong puppy not to pull. I appreciated the kinder approach. Meadow and I highly recommend Meaghan!

Took my 2 yr old boxer mix in for a swimming lesson after a friend recommended this location. He loved it. I loved it. Staff is great, prices are reasonable. We've already re-booked another session. Highly recommend.

We love Old Town Pet Resort! Our girls Eve and Belle are frequent customers and they have been most helpful. A great staff that is always friendly and helpful from Management to Day Camp and in between! Great trading by Megan Martin who has transformed a lil young mix breed rescue Belle into a proper princess (most of the time), and always works with our diva Eve. She has also started working on Grace, a mix we hope to adopt out soon! (Date 08/07/24)

We LOVE Olde Towne Pet Resort (Springfield). OTP is my pet’s home away from home and they treat her so so so well! I have 100% trust that they’ll take the best care of my cat while she’s in boarding. My cat is blind so she requires special accommodations she needs when boarding and the OTP family makes sure she gets what she needs during her stay and makes sure she is in an accessible set up. They even send pictures during her stay - which is so helpful to alleviate any stress in my mind while I’m away. Absolutely LOVE OTP and wish there were one in EVERY city!

Olde Towne Pet Resort has been my go to for grooming and boarding for my fur baby. They listen to my grooming needs for her. There was a day that she came back with a yellow stain on all of her paws. I think it was a topical they use to trim her nails and I thought that was strange. However, after mentioning that the first time, I haven’t seen that happen every time I’ve brought her back since. Grooming is weight based and breed/needs based. I have a 8-10lb Scottish fold and pay about $74. A little pricey but we don’t go often. Boarding is great and I love that we are able to video in to see her. I wish they would let her out a little more often but I understand they have many boarders at a time. They definitely take good care of her though and I see how patient the staff are with her. Also, they send photos of her to us every day during boarding which my husband and I truly appreciate.

After some less-than-stellar experiences with other pet hotels, our family decided to give this place a try and I’m really glad we did. The staff are exceptionally friendly and well-trained and our dog, Bowser, has always left this facility in a fairly good mood. The rooms that your pet stay in our specious and have webcams, so there’s zero guilt over leaving your furry friend here. The only small negative is that it does sometimes take a decent amount of time to check in and check out, but this can be mitigated if you arrive at non-peak hours. Really suggest you take your pet here for daycare and boarding if you can!

I am so grateful that we found Olde Towne Pet Resort. We relocated to the area for about 8 months and my two mini aussies loved it here. They went for daycare frequently and sometimes boarding and grooming. They loved all of the employees and were always tired when I picked them up. The groomer listened to exactly what we wanted and did an amazing job. When they stayed for boarding, I was happy I could view them on camera whenever I wanted to. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely be trusting them with my boys.

This is my dogs’s favorite second home. For puppies or seasoned dogs, this is a great place for healthy interaction . He was trained here, all the staff is courteous to his needs, they day-camp feeds him his lunch that I prepare, and the staff is just kind and warm without hesitation. This is worth every dime and I breathe a sigh of relief that they will protect him, love him and treat him like in a love able way.

I recently visited Old Town Pet Resort for the first time to have my cat groomed, opting for the general grooming package. While the haircut was spot on and they followed my instructions perfectly, the overall experience was disappointing. It felt rushed, and they forgot to brush his fur, leaving bits of hair draft still in his coat. I don’t think they used any shampoo, and they missed trimming his nails. I also paid for a deep teeth cleaning, but that didn’t happen. Despite the good haircut, the rest of the service fell short.

We’ve been going to Olde Towne Springfield for a few years. Last year we started working with Megan, their in house trainer. Before having a baby, we wanted to make sure our dogs were fully trained and ready for the new family member. Megan created individualized plans for each dog and we started to work with her on a weekly basis and utilized the board & train option. Megan has been fantastic to work with, heard all of our needs, and helped get us as the owners more equipped to continue the training at home. Since that board & train, we’ve remained in touch with Megan to ask questions and get advice. Our dogs still get very excited to see her and highly recommend Megan as a trainer!!

Update: Natasha turned this around and she has been amazing! Thank you for taking care of Scooter! It gave me so much peace of mind seeing your updates and pics of him. Appreciate it so so much. And going the extra mile with some home needs that came up while I was out of town 🤩 At the moment giving 3 stars. In the past year or so they had been great. Good communication and took pictures of my dog while I was traveling for work. But this go around with my dog being older I have been trying to be proactive about his elderly needs and hadn’t heard back. I understand being busy as at my work we have been incredibly busy. I am hoping this works out and will update my review after vacation at the end of August.

Kate’s Pet Care is a model of professionalism and customer-service (for both animals and people). I know my pets are in great hands when we need overnight services, a feeding visit, or a walk. Kate’s always goes out of its way to accommodate our schedule and needs. Another bonus? I love supporting a woman-owned small business. Highly recommend.

Kate has watched our bunny for us a few times now. She is knowledgeable about buns and is able to cut his nails and give us tips regarding his care (as we are only second time bunny owners). She came to the house to meet Carrott prior to watching him, talk about the care we wanted, and introduce herself. She sent me updates while we were on vacation, including photos. He was happy and healthy when we returned. I would definitely recommend Kate's K9, including for bunny-sitting needs.

I'm admittedly really surprised given the good reviews for Kate's K9 Pet Care, but they were pretty unprofessional with me. After I replied to their initial email with a meet and greet date from the options they offered, I never heard back from them. This was despite a follow-up email and a phone call. Given that lack of responsiveness, I wouldn't trust placing my dogs in their "care". In addition, in their Pet Sitting contract, they state that if the sitter needs to cancel later than 24 hours prior to the owner's departure, the sitter can find a substitute for themselves without the owner's approval (and it doesn't stipulate anything about who that substitute can be). I was hoping to address this with them during the meet and greet, but given that it never happened, I thought I should make other prospective customers aware of that clause.

Kate’s K9 Pet Care is extremely reliable and we have been so happy with the care they give our pups! We have a nervous dog that warmed up to Kate and her staff very quickly. I highly recommend Kate’s!

I highly recommend Sampson Smiles for pet sitting! We have worked with Diana for many years to care for our two cats. She has a true talent for reading animals and meeting their needs. Our cats probably prefer her over us! Diana is responsive, reliable, and trustworthy. We are so fortunate to have her as our pet sitter because she gives us peace of mind when we are out of town and we know our cats and house are in safe hands with her.

Diana is amazing! She takes care of our furry family members (regular walks for our large breed pup and occasional house sitting for said pup and her kitty friend) as if they were her own. We've been bringing our dog, Zeus, here for 7 years now. Zeus absolutely loves going there and is always excited to hop in the car when we tell him it's time to go to "doggy daycare" for a long weekend. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They have taken time to get to know Zeus and his personality, which makes us feel at ease knowing he's in good hands. One of the things we appreciate most is their flexibility and reliability. If we book in advance, they always have availability, which is a huge relief for us. We also love receiving the "report card" when we pick him up. It's great to hear about his time there and know that he's been well-cared for.

Dear Dogtopia Springfield Team, I had a very disappointing experience at Dogtopia Springfield. After my dog’s stay, he came home with a scratch on his nose and has been crying with watery eyes for the last six days. I’m extremely concerned about his well-being and feel that he was not properly cared for during his time there. I cannot recommend this facility based on my experience. Very pleased with the great friendly service and how genuinely the staff appreciated and accepted my dog for a groom. Rates are very reasonable and my dog was very happy when we picked him up. Groomer did a fantastic job bathing, cutting and trimming (and getting to know him)! We will be coming here again.

Dogtopia is a great place. The owner is awesome and she cares about all of her clients. The staff is young, energetic, and professional. They're great with all of the animals. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dogtopia Dog Grooming, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with their exceptional service. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with warmth and ensured that my furry friend felt comfortable throughout the grooming process. Not only did he pay meticulous attention to detail, but he also took the time to listen to my specific requests, resulting in a perfectly tailored grooming experience. UPDATING Review: I felt that I needed to update my review after experiencing other doggy daycare options. I started bringing my dog here when he was a pup and he loved the smaller groups. I also was happy and comfortable knowing exactly who would be around my dog all day and knowing that they were being watched 100% of the time. I also boarded my dog with The Backyard Pack and was confident that he was being well cared for. Last year, before the pandemic hit, I added another dog to the family. She is a lot more strong willed then my older pup but she did very well at doggy daycare. Both dogs would come home exhausted and happy. Pandemic world, dogs stopped going to daycare for several months because both myself and my husband were home. When I began to go back to the office, we took advantage of another day care because they were offering 50% off their regular pricing and a neighbor that has a dog my pups love playing with, took their pup there as well. We did not take them often since we were still home a lot but it was great when we did because the 3 dogs could play together all day and would all come home completely tired out. By utilizing the other daycare service, we came to truly appreciate the Backyard Pack. With the other facility, my dogs got sick several times and my youngest was bit on 2 occasions, one being bad enough to cause an infection that required antibiotics. The Backyard pack is cleaned thoroughly and I had never previously experienced my dogs coming home sick. In addition to that, we had to board them and did so with the other facility(before the biting incidents). When we picked the pups up, we discovered that they had only been feed 50% of their meals. I would not chose to board my dogs anywhere else again. I can not say enough how much I appreciate knowing that my dogs will not be forgotten at The Backyard Pack when they are boarded this summer. My older dog also needs shots now and I know that I do not have to worry about this with Laurie and Brian. I would recommend The Backyard Pack over any other daycare if it is important to you that your dog is with people that truly care about your animal. My pups are both back in the Pack and they love this spot and the owners!

We started taking our American Staffy mix to the Backyard Pack because it was conveniently located just a few miles from work (and due to co-worker recommendations!). We have both moved on to new jobs, in the complete opposite direction of Backyard Pack, but still take our dog once every week or two. The staff is amazing, our dog comes home nice and tired, and we never have to worry about him while he's there. If we were closer, he'd go much more often. An extra perk is that Laurie (owner) is also a photographer so she can schedule Christmas, Valentines, engagement pictures while your dog is at daycare for the day. We love Backyard Pack! Just wish we were a little closer :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE The Backyard Pack! My Lab Blitz has been going to doggy daycare there for the past year. I couldn't be happier because he socializes with other dogs and is able to burn his energy during the day. Operating hours are perfect for me to drop off before work and pick up after. Laurie and Brian are wonderful with all the dogs and very experienced. Laurie is always giving advice with my pup! Highly recommend!!!!

We have been boarding our dog at the Backyard Pack for about a year and have been very happy! Our sweet dog has traditionally not enjoyed daycare or boarding, but has no problem walking right in to play here! The dogs get individual walks, which is perfect for dogs who need a bit of reprieve from the chaos of daycare, and Laurie also has lots of advice, especially about nutrition.

We are sooooooooo in love with The Backyard Pack! Our dog absolutely loves going! We have used them for both daycare and boarding and can not say enough great things about them! We refer them to every dog owner we know because they are just wonderful people and a wonderful place. The owners have helped us understand our dog more and better meet his needs. We have asked their advice on numerous occasions about dog products and dog care and they are very knowledgeable and helpful! We are always at ease when we have to leave our dog because we know he is well taken care of and having fun, which is a tremendous relief to have found such an AMAZING place! After moving back to the area after living in another state for a few years, we spent a good amount of time looking for an open boarding and daycare facility for our two rescue pit bulls. Our dogs interviewed at other facilities that seemed fine but as soon as we came to The Backyard Pack, it was obvious that this was the perfect fit for us. One of our dogs is very high energy and can suffer from anxiety and our other dog is very fearful. Laurie picked up on these behaviors immediately and worked throughout their first boarding experience to help them feel comfortable and start overcoming these behaviors. When I picked them up from their first boarding stay, Laurie took the time to explain how she worked with my dogs and recommended ways that I can continue to work with them at home. I am so impressed by the care provided to my dogs and appreciate the time that was taken to not only make my dogs comfortably fit into the pack but also to help me to facilitate positive behaviors in my dogs. This is a wonderful place to bring your dogs for daycare/boarding and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a facility that you can trust to take care of your dogs like you would at home.

The Backyard Pack is an AMAZING Doggy Daycare! We have been bringing our dog, Lola, there for the past 5 months for both daycare and overnight boarding. We could not be happier with our experiences there. The owners are amazing trainers and we have learned so much about how to correct Lola's behavior. They are always willing to give us advice and ways that we can help her understand what is good behavior. We also love the concept of the open daycare, no kennels, simulated apartment that they use!

My dog loves the Backyard Pack!! Laurie and Brian provide a great home away from home for my collie. They willingly answer questions about pet care, food, toys, behavior, etc., and they're very knowledgeable. Both daycare and boarding are reasonably priced. It's a great place!

Affordable and convenient doggy daycare- my dog attends 1-2x week and they still notice when he is more active than usual or got a new collar. They have discounted services when I have foster dogs, and they post videos of the dogs playing. Dogs come home tired and happy, so it's a good value for the owner's sanity. Once your dog is an approved member, you can drop them off any day of the work week without notice, which is great for flexible schedules. Highly recommend.

I have been taking my puppy Angus to Playful Pack both for daycare, and for boarding. He LOVES the staff, the other dogs, and has a wonderful time there. I love the updates, the photos, the live webcam, and the report cards - especially when he stays overnight, its so great to get all those updates and see how much fun he is having. The photo I've attached to this review show more than I can say - his big smile while he is having a great time with all his friends. This is my boy the day after daycare. He plays so hard he needs 2 days to recover 🤣🤣🤣 all staff at Fairfax station is great with my big boy. As soon as we get close to the day care he already knows. He is always greeted with so much love he’s ready for all the day. We have done day care, bath and grooming. All have been very pleasant. He seems very happy and well taken care of. I appreciate being able to see him at any moment through the camera. Everyone there is courteous and very friendly. Thank you for always treating my big boy well. Pricing is fair and competitive with all the other daycares/boarding. I’m glad they took the time to evaluate him and other dog to make sure all behavior with other dogs and staff were appropriate to be around. Thanks for taking the time with Barrett. 💙🤎🖤

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. My 3 year old coonhound mix, Ruby, was always greeted with a smile. She was guaranteed to be wiped out when I picked her up. The staff does a great job with daily activities, providing report cards, and pictures. Highly recommended

Our sweet baby Sunny spent two nights boarded here last weekend, and returned to us safe, happy, and clearly loved. It is so reassuring to know we have a trustworthy spot for our girl when needed. The report cards each day gave us peace of mind that she was eating well and enjoying play time with the pack, and the staff handled her serious food allergies professionally and lovingly. She’s looking forward to her next overnight visit, and stopping in for daycare as well! Thank you for everyone who loved on our baby while we were away!

Friendly and easy to work with. Reasonable priced. They are very flexible and great at communicating. Our pup Zelda is a regular and we love the pup report card! The cameras are also great to check in and make sure you pup is treating their staff right.

The best doggy daycare & boarding in Northern VA! This is a locally owned, family business and they are some of the most hard working and friendly people you’ll meet! The staff is great and facility is always clean & inviting. Our 4 month old frenchie needed to be socialized and this is his favorite place. He truly lives his best life with all of his new besties and gets all his energy out (very helpful when we’ve had a long work day)! I love that I can check in on the webcams as well and they will also take update pics ☺️ Highly recommend Playful Pack and they also do free evaluation & daycare if you’re new to the pack! Also opening new locations around nova which is super convenient!

Shadow loves playful pack! The staff is loving and attentive. We can watch on the camera and watch the dogs play and Shadow always comes home exhausted from her play days. We also have had a wonderful boarding experience when having some work done in the house. Glad we have found your team.

This place is wonderful! My dog genuinely gets so excited when we arrive and sleeps so hard when we pick her up. I love that there's someone there overnight when boarding (and my dog gets to sleep in a deluxe condo that fits her whole dog bed), and I love getting the adorable pictures on her report card! So glad we found this place!

The small staff and size makes the experience very personal. They know Jazz when she arrives even when she hasn't been for awhile. I like that the dogs are not crated during the day and get lots of play and human interaction. They also have the doggie cam so you can check in and watch your pup. Really great place for daycare or boarding.

Absolutely love this place. My pup always has an amazing time, comes home tired, and I get to check in on how he is doing with their webcameras. Their daily themes/activities keep my pups mind active. I always know he is safe and that the staff love him as much as he loves them.

Our dog LOVES Reserved Barking and we have been clients for a few years. It is the best money we spend each week. He has tons of energy and the staff makes sure he has the best days and most importantly, he comes home tired every time! The Springfield location is great with the separate boarding areas (with cameras so you can check in) and amazing outdoor play spaces, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Cannot recommend more highly!

Reserved Barking is wonderful! I have been bringing my puppy here since he was 4 months old. They keep him playing all day in daycare so that at home he is completely knocked out (much to the delight of the older dogs in the house). They have been great to send me pictures, give me email updates, and even keep his little puppy teeth for me 🤓 Could not more highly recommend Reserved Barking!

We love Reserved Barking in Springfield. We have 2 large dogs and we needed to find a daycare that could accommodate their size and energy level. Well, they delivered. They have 2 large spaces, an indoor and an outdoor for those beautiful days and of course to do their business. They also have a separate areas for the smaller dogs. My dogs love going there and when they come home they are TIRED! You can tell everyone there love dogs. They are flexible and accommodating too! I'm glad I found them!

My 1.5 year old puggle (pug/beagle) has been going to Reserved Barking since the end of August (2018). To say she loves it is an understatement. When we get there she scratches at the door to go back to the play area. And most times when we leave, I have to coax her out the door. The staff are attentive and it is clear that they love what they do. They treat every dog that walks in like they’ve been best friends for a long time. The screening process is thorough and put me at ease with not only making sure all dogs are up to date on shots and vaccinations; but also that they have the right temperament for daycare. When my pup is there, she plays hard and the staff is very cognizant of her pug side since they can get overheated and sometimes need a bit of extra attention. I really like that they they are a local business and not just another chain. They earned my trust on day 1, and it has only grown since then; Reserved Barking knows what they’re doing and does it well.

We've been going to Reserved Barking SPRINGFIELD for a few months now and have had such a great experience. Great, friendly staff, the facility is very nice and clean and they're one of the few, if only doggy facilities, to have an outdoor GRASSY play area! This was a huge selling point for me as nicer weather is coming and I want my dog to be able to be outdoors and not in a big indoor warehouse all day like some other local doggy daycares. It's really comforting to know that my dog is in good hands!

I have been using Reserved Barking for daycare for my pup since April. I couldn't be happier with their services. The facility is always spotless and the staff always greets us by name and is extremely accommodating. The most important thing is that Max loves it there, he can't wait to get in the door and he's always tired when I pick him up.

Our dog loves going to daycare here. The place is very clean, has lots of room for the dogs to play, and the staff cares very deeply about the dogs. Additionally, staff is very friendly and professional. What stands out the most is, the staff really takes the time to get to know you and your dog, so they can provide the best experience for you and your puppy!

I love Reserved Barking in Springfield! Our dog is a high energy pet that suffers from separation anxiety so I can't leave her at home alone during the day. Reserved Barking's Doggie Daycare gives her a chance to burn off the energy. It has made such an improvement in her home life and well being. Her constant activity playing with other dogs ensures she goes home ready to rest which allows me to wind down when I get home. The Reserved Barking facility is always VERY clean and doesn't have that urine soaked odor you get at the other dog daycare. The dog-to-handler ratio allows them to keep a close watch on the pack to prevent undesirable behavior that occurs when there are too many dogs and only one handler in the room. The indoor room is very large and the outdoor area is fenced, and includes a grassy area, enabling her to safely play outside. After a week of playing, she is so much more calm on the weekends. She feels better and is healthier thanks to Reserved Barking. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. The cost is very reasonable (better than others) and they offer a military discount. Give them a try, you won't regret it.

Love this place! My 8 mos old puppy was a bit hesitant at first, but after only a few days, he now leads the way to get inside. Every employee I have met so far seems to love what they are doing. I appreciated the detailed evaluation they gave my dog on his first visit, and their recommendations were fair (if they were after money - they could have recommended he come "every day for improved socialization skills", but they were honest and said two days a week would help.) Their prices are fair and I love the fact that he gets to spend so much time playing outside when the weather is nice. I was hesitant after visiting a different doggie daycare, but this place was different from the start! Highly recommend!

Our Meg went to Reserved Barking in Springfield for the first time today. She went in happy and came out happy. Tony and others there made her feel very welcome and she went willingly to play. We received a detailed written report of her first day when we picked her up and she’s one tired pup tonight. Her evaluation day was no charge for us which is a special treat and allowed us to tour DC knowing she was happy and cared for. We also felt good that they check each dogs vet records. Meg will be going back tomorrow. What a special service.

Theresa took care of everything while we were on vacation. I love the well written and hilarious updates each day complete with pictures to show the kids while we were away from our cat. She provides a wonderful and personalized service and took care of trash, cat clean up, mail…. everything. It was so nice to know our cat and house were in good hands. I would absolutely use their services again.

Theresa, of Pets are Family Pet Sitting, and her staff member, Jennifer, provided exceptional service for our 1 year old cat. It was our first time being away from our feral kitty, since she was found abandoned and alone at 5 weeks. From the intake meeting to completion of service, our experience with Pets are Family was extremely professional. Theresa was very patient with my concerns. Her confidence and knowledge was evident. The daily reports and photos while we were away were enormously comforting, but what really proved the level of care provided, was when we returned. We were greeted by a calm, secure and very happy pet; and that says it all! Excellent company!

I wholeheartedly recommend pets are family and Theresa! Theresa has been so fantastic with our elderly cat and our crazy flexible schedule. We have used her for over a year now, and she has always been super professional, kind, and extremely responsive. Pets Are Family is very well run as well. PAF sends daily reports with pictures and details, so that you never have to worry about how your pets are doing. They will even get packages from your porch, water your plants, or get your mail if you need them to. We recently had a family emergency, which had us leaving town with less than 24 hours notice. Theresa not only accommodated us, but when we had to change our plans from one week to two weeks and finally to three weeks out of town, she was so gracious with every change and easily accommodated us. We could not have dealt with our emergency without her! I cannot say enough great things about Theresa and Pets Are Family, we are so lucky to have found them!

Theresa is the most thoughtful dog walker and cat sitter we have ever worked with. We have two large German shepherds who were struggling to find a new walker they clicked with when we moved. Theresa Johnson is a godsend! We’ve typically relied on friends and family to help with our dogs when we travel, along with an unsatisfactory Rover house/dog sitter for a longer trip we took last year. We knew we needed someone more reliable, so we asked our neighbors who they use for their pets and they gave Theresa a glowing recommendation. We can’t say enough positive things about Theresa…she is great with our two Labrador retrievers are we are always at ease when we travel knowing they are with someone who genuinely loves animals (and someone who can handle two large, energetic dogs safely). We receive regular updates with photos, including a very sweet photo collage at the end of our trip. We appreciate that Theresa is a professional and operates her business as such. Scheduling, paying, and communications are all handled via an app which is very convenient and streamlined. Theresa is an all-around pleasure to deal with, and we know our dogs adore her too as evidenced by their tail wags and booty shakes when they see her.

My dog, Sandy, became ill the day I was leaving for an out of town trip. Theresa was very concerned about her wellbeing. When Sandy’s condition hadn’t improved by the next morning, Theresa drove her to the emergency vet. She checked in with me to see how Sandy was doing and even took her medication to the emergency vet the following day. I can’t thank Theresa enough for her assistance and caring during that challenging time. She truly cares about the pets she cares for and treats them like family just as the name of her company states.

Tanis took care of our cat Zoey - she did a great job! She would send me pictures and provide updates every evening, so I knew Zoey was doing well. I felt comfortable knowing Tanis was there and it put my mind at ease. I will definitely use her again in the future. Also, Zoey always hides when a stranger comes to visit, but she came out when Tanis came by - which she NEVER does, so that says a lot!

Tanis visited my two senior dogs for over a year, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and compassionate person to care for their beloved pets. She helped my pups through multiple health issues, protected them on walks in my neighborhood where it's unfortunately fairly common to encounter off-leash and/or aggressive dogs, and she always showed up no matter what was happening (even in a snowstorm when everything was shutdown but I still had to work). The care our pets received while we were away was phenomenal! The consultation before we left was easy to schedule and Tanis was very attentive to the details. Our pets also immediately took to her even though they had never met her which was a great sign. She is clearly an animal lover! Alex is the best doggie trainer and he treats my dog like family. I wanted to get her trained up as a puppy and he learned her mannerisms to understand her trouble areas. He offers group walk training in local neighborhoods or more crowded areas to help dogs get accustomed to noises people and other dogs. He also does one on one training and has helped watch my dog when I was on work trip. He's so good with her and he has his own dog, which is her new bestie.

Alex is fantastic with dogs. I have a German Shepard and Collie mix. My German Shepard had a bad habit of jumping on people and Alex was able to stop that behavior. He was very good in handling both my dogs. My Shepard has been with Alex since he was a pup and he’s very good with people and when he goes on his walks with other dogs. This is the long overdue review for Alex. I have been struggling with the reactivity of my three pomeranians for a long time. I had tried group classes, private lessons, and online resources, but I didn't see any significant changes. When I contacted Alex, he invited me to join the group walk where my girls could get exposure to other dogs and strangers. The group walk provides a controlled environment where they can learn appropriate behaviors and build their confidence. Alex is there to correct the inappropriate behaviors of dogs and educate us on how we can improve things. His method works, and I am already seeing improvements. The girls are not perfect yet, but they are on the right track. P.S. Not only Alex, but also the group is wonderful. They are very kind and understanding. I can’t recommend Commonwealth Pet Care enough! I’ve worked with Alex over the past several months training my puppy, Willow. He is patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable. He provides immediate feedback and demonstrates what to do to properly train a dog. He also provides written instructions to reference when I’m training her. Willow has made immense progress on her areas of concern and has mastered basic commands. We have attended group walk and train sessions as well which are wonderful for socializing her as well. We've been working with Alex for going on 2 years this fall. He is a wonderful trainer and really works with you to help focus on areas of concern. We started when our dog was a puppy and she naturallt has a very nervous temperament and Alex has really helped us get her socialized well so that she is great around other people and she's getting ok around other dogs. We'll keep up the training with him until her confidence with other dogs is really built up. You can tell he really cares about the dogs he works with. We have also used him for boarding and had a good experience. Definitely highly recommend!!

Alex has been great with both of our dogs! He both trains and boards our dogs. He has been fantastic with our 1-year-old rambunctious big puppy in getting behavioral skills and basic training, as well as our anxious and high-need 14-year-old small dog. He is patient, communicative, and easy to work with. We are grateful we have found him!

Alex helped us with our fearful foster pup Josie in the Fall of 2022. He gave us practical and useful documentation so that we could gain the skills to help Josie succeed. We met with Alex at least once a week for several months for hands-on training, which helped Josie become more accepting of new surroundings and people. With Alex’s assistance Josie’s fears decreased and she was able to be adopted by a wonderful and patient family that vowed to continue her training. Josie is thriving today thanks to Alex’s training.

We came to Commonwealth Pet Care from a recommendation from our vet. Our pup Stella was extremely fearful of people and other dogs and we were afraid this fear would lead to aggression. From the first “meet and greet” with Alex we knew we had found a great trainer for Stella. Alex was extremely professional and knowledgeable from the beginning. Alex is INCREDIBLE! He’s been working with us and our puppy Roxy for a few months and we can see a drastic improvement in our rambunctious dogs behavior. One thing I really appreciate about Alex is that you can tell he genuinely really loves and cares for each of the dogs he trains. He’s extremely personable and we like his method of training (positive reinforcement). His dog Apache has also been such a positive influence for Roxy and has helped her learn how to play appropriately and control her puppy biting. He’s also helped us connect with other new dog owners in the area to coordinate walks and puppy play dates (which has been difficult due to COVID). He’ll reach out to my husband and I during the week to check on Roxy’s progress and is easy to reach if we have questions.
