I love to hike, so those energetic dogs can get their miles in!
I loved every minute of Michelle's stay, as did my two furry ones. Great care wad taken to ensure they felt sufficiently fed, loved, smooched, walked, and doted on. They miss her so much.

We have a comfortable home, we are flexible and responsible. We like to travel!
Lauren did an amazing job caring for our pets and our home! She has a ton of experience with dogs, including training agility dogs, and our dogs fell in love with her the minute they met her. She was prompt, communicative, left our house spotless, and even did a little training work with our dogs while we were away to help tune up some of their commands. We recommend Lauren wholeheartedly and hope to have her back to our house again!

Lover of all animals, steward of the water and our lands, fishing maniac!
Shandy is lovely. This is the second time she has house sat for us and it was so nice to know that everything would be taken care of at home while we were on vacation. She communicated really well, frequently checked in and sent photos of our dog, and left the house spotless.

Meg was a dream pet sitter for my three year old labradoodle. She gave him nice long walks and was very organized, communicative and tidy. I look forward to another opportunity to have Meg in my home!
Angela did a great job caring for Willie for 10 days while we were out of town. She was easy to communicate with and kept us informed about Willie, along with sending photos of him out on walks and at the beach. Angela was very accomodating when we needed to come home a day early - Thank you! The house was left in good shape and it's clear that Angela is organized and reliable and clearly loves her pet charges. I'd recommend Angela and will definitely include her as one of our top sitter choices in the future! Thanks again, Angela!
This was the 3rd time that Jill sat for us. That says it all but please read our previous reviews. They all stand and Jill is one of the best and most reliable and loving pet sitters we’ve ever had. If you have a chance to have her in your home and caring for your pets, you will be absolutely delighted. We love her.
Lindsay and Bryce provided excellent care to our two cats while we were gone. They are great communicators, took amazing care of our apartment and send regular updates and photos so that we knew all was going well. We would absolutely recommend them as responsible and thoughtful pet sitters who can be entrusted with the care of your home and pets.
Felecia was an excellent sitter and perfect companion for Livi, our 3 yr old Aussie mix! She was always prompt with communication when needed, took great care of our pet and house and was just as clean coming home as we left it. I would not hesitate to recommend Felecia for other sits.
Martin was a very conscientious and thoughtful house sitter who took excellent care of our pets and our home. He was reliable, self-sufficient, and a very good communicator. He clearly enjoys and cares for animals, and our house was spotless when we returned. We recommend him wholeheartedly!
Bryan and Dana were the perfect sitters for Cella. We were delighted that they were able to arrive a day early so that we could enjoy dinner with them and get to know one another. We would be honored to have them sit again. On top of their great care they left us a thoughtful friendship gift. zeewoi continues to be the best site ever. Not only do we have great pet sitters for Cella, we also have the opportunity to meet great new friends. Thank you!!
Ramona and Brandon were the perfect sitters! They rescued me and were very accommodating with my needs. Ramona's communication with me was A1. We spoke multiple times before she arrived and throughout the sit. She was good at keeping me updated and I was very grateful for that, being so far away. The pets gravitated toward them from the moment they arrived and you could see that all she and Brandon wanted to do was spoil the pets with lots of cuddles. My female pup was in heat and they handled that very well and were able to keep her and my male dog separated. I could only imagine how exhausting that may have been but they didn't complain one bit. Ramona and Brandon had to hand over the sit to another sitter and were kind enough to write out the details and everything they observed to make the transition a seamless one. I must say, it helped tremendously. I'd have them back in a heartbeat to sit for me as they showed that I could trust them, not only to take care of my pets but to respect my home they way they would their own. Thanks again for making my trip away worth it!
Anna was the perfect sitter for Tali, Mac and Sox. From the first moment we met Anna we all got on extremely well and we had no worries about leaving our pets in her safe hands. Anna gave them loads of fun time and company, lovely walks and snuggles in front of the TV. Thanks for all the fun we had before and after the sit too. We would not hesitate to recommend Anna for any sit.
Jerry and Suzanne were absolutely ideal sitters for our home and pets. We spoke with them ahead of their visit and could tell that they are genuine pet and travel lovers. Over their stay we got to see even more that they are wonderfully friendly, kind, and responsible - plus they kept us laughing with their updates and descriptions of our pets' antics while we were away. Our pets and plants were well loved and our house was spotless upon our return home, and they were even kind enough to leave a few goodies in the fridge. Our dog in particular seemed to miss them and their long walks around the neighborhood. Thank you Jerry and Suzanne! We wish you well in your travels!

Absolutely fantastic people and dog care! The staff is extremely kind, upbeat, and understanding. They obviously take the time to know each dog individually, and they are sensitive to each dog's needs. My 14 year-old retired Service Dog Bonnie is completely blind; and every time I go to pick her up either after a superb grooming or a stay, she is contented and peaceful. Sonya was a wonderful staff member. They all have been. The only suggestion I have is perhaps investing in a more renovated facility - they are obviously doing the best they can, but sprucing the place up a bit would make it better for the staff, as well! I will keep on coming - and I am a Service Dog trainer by profession. Great work, Lu and Rue's!!
We boarded our Aussiedoodle for one day. When I went to pick her up, in just going into the office the stench was extreme. Dog kennel are going to have this smell, but aga8n the smell was extreme. My dog only weighs 18 pounds and when I put her into the car, she reeked of the smell. I had to bathe her to get it off. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating and this just might a bad day, but I don't think I would chance a return visit. Perhaps you might judge based on the smell as you walk into the office.
We went to the Oregon Sand Dunes and needed to board our dogs. Lu & Rue's took great care of our fur babies for a VERY reasonable price . Would use again and recommend to all.
Miss Roxy had a fabulous time at your facility. She is looking forward to another stay. Thank you.
We love bringing our dog here for daycare 3x a week. She gets so excited. We've only had her groomed once here with no issues. The staff are so friendly and treat each dog as if they were their own. We couldn't be happier with them!
So grateful to have this daycare in town! Their whole staff is super warm, capable, and kind. Our pup absolutely loses his mind with excitement the second we pull into the parking lot. They even encourage him with the little training cues we have been working on with him at home - totally not expected but so appreciated. The in-house grooming is great, too! Thanks, Lu & Rue’s!
Our dog trainer recommended Lu and Rue’s. Everyone was very friendly, and our dog came home without the bad habits she normally develops when left for overnight boarding. Thanks so much!!
My fur babies are well cared for when I have to travel for work! Definitely my go-to for boarding or as I prefer, sleep away camp for doggies. Also our go to for grooming, primarily toenail trims. But if they're in need of a good scrubbing they're where I'd go 💜
I am very grateful we have Lu & Rue's in this area. My dog loves it there and gets so excited when she knows we're close. She loves to play with the other dogs plus they have a great groomer. I can't recommend them enough!
Lu and Rues runs an awesome business. We have been taking our 6 month old Labrador retriever for the past couple months. They truly enjoy their job and have an amazing love for animals. Our pup loves going to daycare and comes home tired. They are a professional and accommodating business.
After a few bad experiences with other groomers in town happy tails is the only place I'll take my dogs. They ladies are so good with my dogs. And I don't have to leave them all day which is a plus. Just make sure you call ahead, they book up really fast...😍 (photos of dogs for fun) …
I would give zero if there was an option because I didn’t receive any service to review. I called about my three dogs needing their nails trimmed. I’m new to the area and needing a good place to take them. She answered my question about the cost of the work then hung up. So I called back asking about walk-in or appointment only. And she replied appointment only. If you’re keeping up then you’ve realized I hadn’t ever given the option to make an appointment due to her hanging up on me immediately. If you can’t take the time to address the business coming to you directly you don’t deserve the business. Needless to say I’m still looking for a good groomer in the coos Bay Area. Piss poor customer service.
Took my Akita in for a bath, brush, and nail trim and they did an excellent job with my baby. I'm super pleased and so is panda.
I finally found a groomer that Fred and Barney like. They came out really happy. Their nails weren’t rough at all and they smell sooooo good. I give them six stars. Edit 2 years later: I most certainly have not changed my opinion at all. Becky and Tanner are like family to our dogs. The boys will not be going anywhere else as long as they can take care of them. First class operation.
I kept getting the older lady who for some reason couldn't handle my frenchie. The last time I took her the lady refused to trim her nails. Although the younger lady was delightful, I won't be bringing my little girl back. The younger lady is the only reason I gave them the second star. I now have a far better groomer for my little frenchie.
We will not be returning. We did two grooms at Happy Tails for our miniature bernedoodle puppy. Their shop has moved down a corridor of the mall I never knew existed. If you enter the door near their old shop and sign it's promptly a left turn down a small hallway past the human hair salons. The first groom was fine, a little shorter than I would have liked and very much a poodle cut in the face, but fine and it cost $75 for my 35lb dog. It grew out. Booking an appointment is a bit of a struggle if you don't want to leave a message or have a specific question. It's a mother/daughter team and the phone is often neglected. When we returned for our second appointment, which had to be booked about three weeks out, I was quickly called back and informed that my dog was "too matted" and they would shave him down to his skin, I protested. My dog is a poodle mix. I understand he needs to be brushed and I brush him out entirely about every other day. He had a minor amount of matting that could have easily been cut out with scissors. They acted like I'd never seen a slicker brush and comb before and booked another appointment a week and a half later, with homework to get him brushed out. I brushed him for a solid week every day literally with a fine tooth comb. When we returned his hair was like butter. They put him on the table without really checking his coat and sent me on my way. Four hours later, I got a call that he'd be ready in about 15 minutes, when they had told me it would be about two hours. As I was ending the conversation I was met with a sharp "$120, cash or check only." I don't like to argue, I went and picked him up and paid the surprise 50% increase over last time. The cost was inconsistent, they shaved his underside entirely when I know it wasn't matted, they very much did what they wanted rather than following instructions, and we're never going back.
Always do a great job with the pups. I usually call ahead to be sure they have the time and staff to trim some nails (always better with two people and they care enough to not want to have the pets associate it with you!)... one to snuggle and one to trim. Always friendly, even when busy busy busy with work.
Just picked up our little girl and she looks terrific! It was her first time at Happy Tails and she will be back!
Owners are really wonderful! The shampoo they used smelt amazing! We have a Shi Tzu and they did a great job on her first hair cut. Price was excellent. Love this place.
My husband took our dog Toby there. He’s a difficult one due to abuse in his past and he has issues with people touching his feet. He looks amazing, they weren’t fully able to get his feet. But they did the best they could with our difficult doggo. I appreciate their effort, thank you so much.
Nice staff and they took good care of my dog. I was also able to pick her up for an afternoon and bring her back for the night.
This the second time we have boarded our hyper dog at Howl A Day. Was unsure the first time (just because the dog is a little out of control) but she was treated very well . The second time we brought her in she was excited to go see the staff. I would trust Miss Lisa and her staff with my pup ANYTIME . You guys are awesome!!! Even Luna thinks so!! 🐾
What an awful experience!! Cried for hours thinking about the negligence towards my favorite dog in the world and his brother left in their care for four days. I was heartbroken to say the least. They left the dog in the cage the entire time and was discovered upon arrival to be covered in urine and feces. Both dogs were visibly scared and deprived. Was there a way to prevent this? Did they communicate the lack of love and space afforded to boarding a pet? Never again would they get my business! I had to throw away the dog bed and give multiple showers following the weekend at Howl-All-Day-I'm-Scared Inn. DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL! Perhaps PETA or Better Business Bureau needs to be alerted.
They are awesome with your dog/s and very nice people.... they have great prices and nice kennels for you loved pets. Will be using again and highly recommend them.
Probably an awesome place for social dogs, not a great place for my cat. Totally take responsibility for not having the forethought that a co-species boarding place would scare my cat and therefore would probably scored higher if not for the fact that my cat came home sick. Upper respiratory infection.
If I could rate it 0 stars I would. NEVER take your dog to them. Dirty conditions, no apparent care of the animals. I walked in to take my dog home and there was no evidence of anyone around and finally found a hand written sign that was out of the way that said to honk horn because they were in the grooming shed. Meanwhile my dog is crying and screaming so I took her out of the kennel and put her in car. Very curtly the woman finally came to take my pay and said I could not just "take my dog." Well, apparently I could and anyone else could have as well. She was obviously under stress and I kept thinking if she is treating me so rudely, how do they treat the animals. My dog was frantic and either through chewing or dirty conditions or both, she had horrid infections on both rear paws. Needless to say, I would never go back to this and probably never do any sort of kennel boarding again.
We board our 2 dogs here several times a year. Never have had any issues. During cold weather they have dog hammocks so they are off the cement. Our Border Collie is afraid of the dark, so they put him in a kennel across from the night light. The dogs get exercise daily.
We were traveling and had a "rolled in dead animal" emergency. Wonderful, kind owner. Took us in after hours on the weekend and cleaned the smell right out of my daschaund, and trimmed his nails.
Puppy dog's were very happy to see us, the people who work there treat our furbabies wonderfully.
I love that my dogs are taken great care of. They know us and go above and beyond to make sure our dogs are happy.
