Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

Mary was fantastic from start to finish and looked after our elderly dog with love and attention to her needs. She also looked after our home with respect and care. We couldn't have asked for a nicer sitter and would highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs.
honeybee was a great sitter for our 3 animals. She communicated very well throughout the sit. Our flight home was delayed and she was great about being able to cover the extra days. Her connection to the animals was wonderful. We were less organized than intended on her arrival due to some unexpected work issues, and she was great about rolling with the changes (e.g. the closet doors were missing as the painter hadn't finished with them). She used public transport to get to Golden and then drove our car while here. She left a few items behind, and her attention to kitchen cleanliness could be better, but we would definitely have her sit our pets again if the opportunity arises.
Kelly was a wonderful pet sitter and house sitter! Our dog Cooper adored her. She sent us pictures several times a day and he was always snuggling with her. She kept in touch with us regularly. We have never left our baby before and we were anxious about it but we ended up feeling totally comfortable with Cooper in Kelly’s care. She also kept our potted plants alive during a heat wave and took great care of the house. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.
Natalie and Christian were dream pet sitters while we were out of the country for 2.5 weeks. From start to finish, they were reliable and professional, with excellent communication. They had took great care of our dog and chickens and left the house and car in great shape. Plus, they’re just a really sweet young couple. We’d highly recommend them as house sitters.
Not only did Krista take great care of our cat while we were away, she left the house cleaner than she found it. She also kept in touch with occasional photos and videos of kitty antics, which gave me peace of mind that the cat was well-cared for. We definitely recommend her as a house and pet sitter and would ask her again in the future!
Kelly and Chris are lovely people and we loved having them at the house! They were very engaged from the start, asking questions and wanting to know all the details on our pets. We were completely comfortable going away and didn’t worry during our trip knowing our kiddos were in such great hands. K & C gave us pics & updates as requested, and we loved seeing our pets have such a good time with them! They left the house in as good or better shake as it was found, laundering and folding linens and tidying up so well we could hardly tell they stayed here! They were communicative before the sit, during, and after. Kelly and Chris were the ideal sitters in every way. We’d welcome them back anytime and highly recommend them to others. Thanks you two!
I could not have asked for a better first time sitter experience! Terry & Vinnie were absolutely wonderful people. They took stellar care of my beloved pets and my home. Their communication with me was enough that I felt perfectly at ease during my time away and in turn, they were super responsive if I contacted them. My pets were relaxed and happy when I returned!
Debra was a Great pet and house sitter !! She communicated well throughout our long trip and sent us frequent pictures of all of our pets. She watered our plants and brought in all the mail. Our home was immaculate when we arrived home and the dogs and cat were super happy !! I would recommend Debra as a wonderful, responsible and reliable pet and house sitter !
Mikala & Jake were great house & pet sitters for us!! Our dog and two cats absolutely adored them, and we came back to a very clean home with happy animals :) They were very reliable and fast communicators. They even had to deal with our power going out while we were away, and they handled it well. It eased our minds to know our animals and house were in such great care while we were away and would have them sit for us anytime!
Heath spent a long weekend at my home taking great care of both dogs and the cat. He was able to help out on rather short notice, and I felt very comfortable leaving my pets in his care. Heath is friendly and reliable and left my home neat and tidy. I would definitely recommend him as a house/pet sitter for future assignments!

We love A Stay in the Country! Both of our dogs have spent time boarding here and they love it! They get the attention that they need, plenty of play time, and the staff love on them like their own. We always appreciate the updates on Facebook & Instagram when we are away! The staff make the process seamless when booking reservations. We are so happy that we found A Stay in the Country and that our pups love it so much too!
My dog stays here regularly for boarding. She always has a fantastic time! Staff are well trained and make sure to pay close attention to the dogs and keep them in a positive and stimulating environment. They also offer great package options to best suit various types of energy levels in dogs. The best part is they have tons of space for the dogs to run outside during playtime which is what our pup loves most!
Leaving my dog is always a little/lot wrenching for me, but every time we pull into the driveway at ASITC, she starts squeaking with joy and jumping up so much that I have to pull over to unclip her harness so that she can put her front feet on my shoulder and exclaim her delight right into my ear. She could not be in more loving hands. All of the staff have undergone Fear-free certification. They make sure that the dogs get the experience they need. It’s a beautiful farm - green grass, tall trees - I always wish I could book myself a stay. I am beyond grateful for their diligent care.
My puppy Wasabi loves ASITC and their staff. Highly recommend for day care and boarding
Price was competitive, Nice location, very pleasant and informative staff. They welcomed my 110lb energetic American Bully with open arms. I definitely plan on returning for their day care and overnight services when needed.
The staff at this facility are top notch! They treat your dog with great care, love, and energy. The extra activities they do with the dogs are above and beyond what you would expect. The facility is safe and clean. My dog attends daycare here, and has also boarded here. He absolutely loves spending time here! His care-takers as well as his "bark buddies" are his best friends. You won't find a better place to take your dog.
We are boarding our dog in June and he needed to come for an evaluation to see how he did. From start to finish the process was beautifully easy. I felt like everyone truly cared about my pup's well being and he enjoyed his day stay so much we may book a few more in between now and his boarding date. I feel comfortable leaving him here in June because i know he will get the best care. 👌 🤩
We are so happy we learned about A Stay in the Country! Our young puppy has now stayed with them twice and has loved every minute; they give him ample play time with other pups his size/demeanor and clearly treat him well. We let them know it was his birthday this weekend while we were gone and they even threw him a party with his doggy friends. Even though we are about 30 minutes away, we go out of our way to drop off our dog because they are so wonderful. Cannot recommend them enough!
A Stay in the Country is every dog owner’s dream! My dog Annie has severe separation anxiety, doesn’t love playing with other dogs, and is anxious around new people. After trying other kennels and dog sitters and not having great experiences we found A Stay in the Country and any anxieties of leaving my dog while on vacation are gone! Annie loves the staff and barks with excitement as soon as we hit the driveway. With the customizable activity packages, they have exactly what we need for my dog’s stay and even share updates via text and Facebook. We’ve recommended ASITC to other family and friends and they have been repeat customers as well. I can’t recommend A Stay in the Country more!
The staff and facilities are outstanding! There is no doubt my dog loves going to doggie daycare twice a week, and she especially loves when I board her. I have only had positive experiences over the past six years and highly recommend A Stay in the Country Pet Lodge.
Please be careful if you plan to use Greensprings Pet Resort. We rate their pet sitting services as average (3 stars) because we have only used them once for a 1-week vacation. We were non-plussed but puppy came home clean, safe and sound. Interestingly, we were never allowed to see beyond the front lobby despite our request, and we were not provided any photos during his stay despite assurances that we would be. Again, non-plussed. Their grooming service is another matter (1 star). Three weeks ago our mini-doodle puppy was groomed there. By arrangement, it consisted of a bath and trim "after morning time at the kennel". Both we and our puppy were very pleased with the grooming (see photo taken on the lawn of the Pet Resort immediately after grooming). Three weeks later we took him in for repeat services. I received a phone call within an hour of drop-off directly from the groomer stating that the puppy would need "cutting" due to matting, which I knew he had on his belly. When I asked about morning time at the kennel, she said they were grooming him then or else he would not be ready by 1 pm. I agreed but, unfortunately, did not clarify the definition of cutting. When my husband and I picked him up at 1 pm we were told he was "still on the table". When he was brought out, he was shaved to the skin with "poodle" ears and tail (see photo taken upon arrival at home after second grooming). If our puppy hadn't been delighted to see us, we would have sworn they gave us the wrong dog. We were beyond disappointed. To make matters worse, we paid $20 more for the same "set of services" as the first time. Did we pay for shearing and crate time? I suspect there never was "morning time" and that grooming probably took several hours. Fair enough but we deserved a better explanation up front and charges should reflect only grooming services. I called the front desk staff several hours later to express our dismay with the radical grooming. I was told that "this is what she had to do" and that "it would have hurt him to brush him". In other words, the staff shifted responsibility to the pet-owner/pet. Not once did the staff validate our concern or offer any type of apology. Extensive matting was simply not the case (see third photo taken 1 week ago). These types of dogs are furry and require regular grooming which is why we scheduled grooming after only three weeks. Perhaps a pre-grooming photo from by the groomer to justify the radical cut would have been in order. Likewise, If she did not have time or want to take the time to do careful brushing and trimming, then we should have been informed. If the groomer was only experienced with poodle cuts, then we should have been given the option to reschedule. So many options.... and we were not offered any. Our puppy is fine and his hair will grow back. We love him all the same. Our issue is with the obvious miscommunications, not only between the groomer and us, but also between the front desk staff and us. No transparency whatsoever. We would not recommend these Pet Resort services under the current circumstances.
Have had a good experience with boarding services due to my work schedule. My dog was initially weary of going the first couple times, but is now always pulling the leash when walking towards the front door and wanting to go stay there as well which shows how much she enjoys being there.
I picked up someone else’s dog, and the resort had a very strong, unpleasant smell, making it difficult to wait there. Additionally, the road leading to the resort is unsafe and inconvenient for two cars to pass at the same time. The entrance to the road is also dangerous due to the lack of separated lanes and the risk of speeding cars behind you.
This Kennel had a Kennel Cough epidemic. I have given this place a 5 star in the past. However new staffing and bad employee attitude has taken over this kennel. I have an older dog. The one employee who walks him has pressured and hinted to me in the past that I should euthanize my beloved dog. The other employee with the short and purple hair wrote me an email stating that I should immediately pick up my dog because he had loss of Bladder control. The vet checked him out and cleared him of any issues. These worthless lazy employees develop lies and drama as an excuse to not take care of your animal. He is in good condition but his lack of care here by certain employees has given him diarrhea. Food comes back unfed at times and meds are not given. Any denials here won't work. I know who these worthless, Lazy employees are. I really liked this place until I was starting to get pressure to euthanize my beloved fur child.....
I left my dog here for a week while I went on vacation. He sometimes gets reactive around other dogs when he’s on a leash and we’ve been working with a trainer who recommended a pronged collar. I brought him in using that collar and asked to take it off in the lobby, assuming they would have a slip leash to use to take him back. They did not. The girl taking him back said they would take it off. When I picked him up he was wearing the pronged collar. I assumed they had put it back on. Once at home, I found that the collar was caked in blood and fur and he had multiple open wounds all around his neck. One looks infected. Nobody said anything to me at pick-up. He was supposed to be bathed on his last day there. I don’t know how they could have done that and not noticed all of these huge scabs and injuries. I think they left that metal prong collar on him for 7 days and nights. How many people handled and “cared” for my dog during that time and no one noticed multiple bleeding wounds? This place is at best neglectful and at worst callous and cruel. Pronged collars are training tools and anyone who handles dogs for a living should know they shouldn’t be left on a dog’s neck for 160 straight hours. Knowing that my dog spent a week here in what was most likely constant pain and irritation while they just ignored it is extremely upsetting. It makes me sick to think how uncomfortable he must have been every day and every night of his stay here. I don’t even have the words to adequately express how angry I am. These people have no business working with animals. If you care about your pets, take them someplace else.
I gave one star because I left my 13 year old lab/retriever and my 5 year old boxer/terrier on Saturday . I never received any photos of their day, and when I checked in on them I was told they were fine and nothing to report. When I picked my boys up on Monday my 13 year old lab/retriever was covered in feces. They sprayed him off and gave him to me wet. I ended up taking him to the ER because he was not acting right and where he needed fluids and antibiotics. My poor old man had colitis and dermatitis. He could hardly walk his paws were so sore. They neglected my baby and took no accountability. I am so disgusted. I was not allowed to pick him up on Sunday because they are closed. That was a medical emergency and I should have been called. My dog could have died. Never again will I trust these people with my family. BTW I’ve called 4 times with no answer. The owner NEVER contacted me!
I am trying to not come from a place of anger while writing this. My husband and I left our two dogs in the care of this pet resort from July 2nd to July 6th. Upon drop off we were not informed of an upper respiratory infection that had caused them to close their daycare services and weren’t informed until the day after when I called because one of my dogs was sick. When we picked up our dogs on the 6th the first thing we were greeted with was a giant infected sore on our German Shepherds face. The woman who brought them out to us then proceeded to ask if it was there when we dropped off and when we told her no she nonchalantly said oh well she must have rubbed her face on something. Irritated we left, our entire drive home our dogs were heavily panting and as soon as they got in our home the proceed to drink two bowls of water. About an hour after getting them home our lab was hacking and spitting up mucus, we immediately were scared and got a hold of our vet. The next day we were informed it was kennel cough from our vet and that we were the 12th case to come from this resort within the week and that they had informed the kennel of the outbreak before we checked our dogs in. The next day our German Shepherd also began to show signs of kennel cough. I am sitting here writing this review with two sick dogs that I have been up with for the last 4 nights. The resort told us nothing until we called and informed them our dogs were sick and started asking questions. They never called us though having all of our information to tell us our German Shepherd was injured in some way and didn’t notice that it had become infected. The pictures I’m sharing are the day we brought her home and it was already scabbed. They ask us for our vets information and make us sign something stating if something is to happen to our animals that they reserve the right to take them to the vet and we are to cover the bill. Instead of informing and honestly noticing at all this turned into infection and two more cases of kennel cough. I am livid. I will never bring my dogs back. I urge anyone that had their animals there during the time period we had our dogs there to get your animals checked out.
When I began looking for reputable boarding services for my "special needs" blind dog, two of the three facilities were not willing to take on the responsibility/liability for a blind dog. The Pet Resort at Greensprings was the only one who replied that they would happily take on the responsibility for my special needs dog. And his needs are not super difficult... just some patience, understanding, love, and humor is all that was needed. I have been overjoyed with the care, attention and love that the staff and owners, Jill and Jeff, have provided. The relief in knowing that my dog is in caring hands is amazing. I am aware that he could get hurt himself or get hurt during his visits (that's inherent anywhere) and I'm also aware that he could get sick during his visits (also inherent) but I have complete faith that the owners and staff take his care very seriously and would do everything possible to help him out. His tail is always wagging when he arrives and it's wagging when he leaves. I couldn't ask for anything else. Thanks Jill, Jeff, and their caring staff! You have a customer for life.
My pup loves the Pet Resort at Greensprings! We have a rescue German Shephard, and we wanted to keep her socialized with other dogs so decided to send her to doggie day care at Greensprings twice a week...plus she's still young, so she can burn some energy. The staff is fantastic and always takes great care of her. Our dog's favorite seems to be Jessica, but everyone there has been great, all the way up to the owner(s). They all have gotten to know our dog well and we are always confident she is in great and caring hands. We use them for both doggie day care and boarding, we have been extremely happy, and our dog loves going there. I highly recommend!!
-Update- Must’ve been calling at the wrong times, staff has been responsive and are super super friendly. Called almost 10 times throughout different times of the day and haven’t gotten an answer one time. Couldn’t imagine dropping my pets off somewhere that lacks basic communication
Don’t call Rover.. Call Sarah!!! I wish everyone were as reliable as Sarah’s team!! They are always there fur my German Shepherd and 2 kitty kats. My pets even appear younger, happier and very relaxed. My Sheppie is almost 8 and since Sarah’s team has been sitting for them, she is so playful and fun like a puppy!!! I am so grateful for all the time and attention they give.. And the pix they send!!! So creative and fabulous!!!! I feel so fortunate to have found these pet loving people!!!
Sarah and her team have been the best caretakers of our animals! We started out with one puppy and weekly walks and playdates for socialization and exercise. When we added another puppy, we added more walks and playdates. My doggies look forward to their time with Sarah, Monika and all the other excellent caregivers. The pics and commentary on their time away just makes my day!!
I cannot say enough about Sarah Sits-N-Stays! Look no further if you are looking for someone to take care of your fur babies! We have been using Sarah's company since moving to Richmond in August 2022 and couldn't be happier. My partner and I have very hectic schedules, but we have never been unable to schedule a daily walk and lunch for our dog and cat (even sometimes at the last minute!). We have also used them for overnight visits during weekends we are away. We have never been concerned and always feel safe knowing Sarah's company is taking care of them. They even send pictures and updates every day summarizing their time together. Our dog Teddy is always happy (as you can see!) and well-exercised when we get home. Even our cat, who is not much of a "people person," has warmed up to the staff. We have had nothing but good experiences with all the walkers/sitters, but I would like to give a special shoutout to Madi who is our main walker. She is AMAZING and Teddy absolutely LOVES her! Seriously... look no further if you need a walker or sitter!
I have been using Sarah Sits-N-Stays for dog walking services ever since I adopted my dog last year. Sarah and all the walkers have been absolutely amazing. Sarah made sure my dog was paired with walkers who are comfortable with an energetic, young dog and my dog has gained so much confidence through her daily walks. The walkers are reliable, experienced and communicative. My dog and I are very thankful for all the help!
Could not be more pleased! I am a full time student. The walking schedule is tailored to mine and has been a lifesaver for me and my dog, Pippa! Sarah is organized and attentive—each walker sends an update and usually a picture of Pippa during walks/playtime. Everybody even gives my cat some love too! I highly recommend!
Finding Sarah Sits-N-Stays after moving to Richmond has been such a blessing for our little family! Our sitters have been so patient and understanding with our reactive dog, and always have great communication with us when we are out of town/when they are walking our dog. I would 100% recommend them for anyone who is a little nervous to leave your dog with new people.
Our pup absolutely LOVES his dog walk and play time with Monika, our Sarah Sits ‘N Stays dog professional! Tucker, our dog, now literally knows the word “Monika” and “friends” and he gets SO excited when it’s time for his walk and play time! He knows the time and day and gets so happy when it’s closer to pick up. He always comes back tired, and if you have a hyper dog like we do, you know how crucial that is for your own sanity. They do such a good job of taking care of him and prioritize safety. They are also very flexible, when Tucker was having some stomach issues, they totally understood we needed to cancel. We really trust Sarah Sits ‘N Stays with our beloved pup! Also, Monika takes the cutest pics of Tucker!
We started with Sarah Sits-N-Stays during the pandemic, figuring at least one person in our family should socialize. Since then, our doggo has had wonderful adventures every week and is SO excited to see the kind, capable folks who take him along. We're not too big on dogparks so Sarah Sits-N-Stays has keep our dog in the mix with other pups without stressing him (or me) out. I trust the team and love the updates they pass along after every visit. They definitely treat our pup with kindness and he couldn't be happier when he sees them. I feel like we really lucked out when we found Sarah!
I recently hired Sarah Sits-N-Stays to take care of my 16 year old cat while we were out of town for a week. This was my first time hiring a pet sitter and I couldn't be happier with the experience. I received daily updates with photos, so I never had to worry about whether my cat was receiving the care and attention he needed. Sarah’s team was always on time and willing to go above and beyond if they saw something that needed to be done. Thanks to Sarah, I actually felt like I could relax on vacation for once. If you're looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter, I would absolutely recommend her services.
I am very happy I was referred to Sarah Hays, owner of Sarah Sits-N-Stays. I cannot begin to express how pleased I am with the care that the pet sitters have provided to my fur baby. With the Time to Pet application, I am able to upload all the important information regarding Taz's care, including vital medication she needs to have administered daily. They keep me informed with every visit and send me pictures so I can see how my little girl is doing. They have provided a peace of mind so when I need to travel I can do so with confidence. I highly recommend Sarah Sits-N-Stays!
Amazing doggy day care! Our dogs Buster & Smokey loved the 2 days they spent in your facility! Friendly, pleasant, caring people. Clean facilities! Thank you again for accommodating us on such short notice! You saved our Williamsburg vacation! Michelle & Tom
I recently had a quality of life visit for my sweet Booboo she is a chihuahua. I decided to euthanize her due to her deteriorating health. Dr. Fiddler, the assistant and Mrs. Terry were so accommodating, friendly, kind and understanding. They professionally took care of us and my sweet girl. Here's to 17years Booboo, Thank you all for your continued support and professionalism. 💝
Thank you Paws! Best doggie daycare I have ever been to! Not over crowded and each dog has their own suite to rest in. My puppy Lola is shy and had a bad experience at another daycare previous to Paws. They worked hard building her confidence. Karen is a master at picking the right dogs to play with each other. I would recommend Paws Pet Resort to all!! Cannot say enough about how good they are.❤👍👍
Our dog enjoys going to Paws Pet Resort to day care or to board. They play with all the animals inside and outside. The staff is very friendly and cater to any special needs. It is a very clean and well run place. I highly recommend!
We had a family emergency and had to leave out of town in two hours. Paws Pet Resort stepped up and took cared of our little Molly so we could be with a family and know that she was in good hands. Thank you for being so flexible and taking care of our little Molly, we missed her so much.
My Jubilee came home a happy camper after her stay at Paws Pet Resort. The camping was more like ‘glam-ping’ as overnight guest accommodations replicate a cozy home environment with cushy slipcovered sofa and/or club chair and flat screens! Staff members are professional, nice people who shared lots of love with Jubilee. Felt good leaving Jubie here after scouring reviews, meeting members of the team, and touring the facility; and, Paws Resort proved me right.
Bag of mixed feelings here. Yes, it seems like my dog did well here. I am also glad they were able to fit me in on memorial weekend just a few days prior. However, the human to human service was awful. I came in to this business with my dog and there is this lady, one of the older ladies with white hair, who appears to be the owner or manager, who at first sight just oozes passive aggressiveness. Now all people make mistakes and I did not read the part where I had to have a collar on my dog, this lady starts harping over “it’s in the contract” and in a span of 1 minute reminding me about 4 times that my dog needs a collar. If you give me a chance I’ll go back and get one, I had barely just said hello. The rest of the checkin in process was exactly the same. It seems like she treats everyone the same because even her employees stayed quiet and somewhat submissive for example when she spoke to the younger lady at the front desk.Perhaps this line of work has her thinking everyone are dogs and they must be submissive? Maybe a hammer thinks everything is a nail situation? When I came to pick up my dog, which went much better, it was only slightly dampened when I saw the [owner/manager?] I respectfully said hello, and ignored me like I wasn’t there. Someone, if you’re reading this, give this lady back her cats. I won’t be coming back until you do
I live in the suburbs of D.C, but am from the 757, so I board my "yorkie daughter" with Paws at least 3 times a year. I'm very picky about who she stays with and though the drive can be up to 3-3.5 hours each way, it is well worth it. I don't have to worry about my baby girl and can vacation in peace either internationally or domestically because I know my sweet and sometimes timid or loud Valentine is in great hands, along with my "nephew Yorkie!" I love the owner so much and the desk assistant. They are very nice people! I also love getting birthday emails for my Valentine every February 15. Paws is really great!
I cannot say enough good things about Paws Pet Resort! Karen and her staff are amazing in every way! The attention and love they give to the animals is beyond compare in my opinion! The facility is extremely clean! My dog boards there as well as goes to Doggie Daycare and she loves it there and always is so happy to see the ladies and her doggie friends :-) I would highly recommend them and I'm so grateful for all they do :-)
It is too bad that we can only give a five star rating to the Paws Pet Resort ,as opposed to ten stars !!! Not only was the resort a "Resort" for my pet but I felt reassured and relaxed about her stay away from home. The staff was kind, courteous and concerned about her welfare. We were both treated like welcomed guests. SO, FOUR PAWS UP ! Thank you from us both.
Jackson's Pet Haven is wonderful! I have been boarding Charlie my mini-weenie dog with Melissa and her gang for over a year, and he always thrives when in their care. The moment you walk in the door you are greeted by spa-like smells and a calm and attractive reception area. It's an immaculate, charming, welcoming, and friendly environment, and as an over-protective owner of a tiny dachshund who has had back issues, I am so grateful to have a safe and professional place like Jackson's nearby. Oh, and they do a lot more than boarding...I cannot recomment them enough! Thank you for being here in Providence Forge! Aprile (and Charlie--woof)
I shouldn't have waited so long to bring my 2 GSDs. They are a handful at times. My youngest we haven't been able to clip her nails since we adopted her even the vet tried! Melissa got them done! Thank you!
Melissa did such a great job with our senior pup! He wasn't stressed at all when we picked him up and he was squeaky clean and smelling great - thanks Melissa!
Great kennel. Ive used it for day boarding 3 times, and the place is relaxing like a soa for dogs!
Highly recommend, very clean day care/boarding in a home-like setting!
We were looking for a new pet care place and I got nothing, but positive things to say! :)
She does a beautiful job on my Dixie!
Thank you for the wonderful rating! We hope to see you again soon.
We recently boarded our six-year-old Mini golden doodle and five month old Mini Bernad doodle. Needless to say they had the absolute best time! We received daily photos of all the dogs playing. Highly recommend!
Our normal boarder was unavailable and we were referred to Pawsitively Purr-fect through the grapevine. Our dog loves other dogs but has been reactive with some other boarders, so finding a new option at the last minute was a challenge. Jacki & JR were the best we’ve worked with, no contest, and have become our new go-to for boarding & daycare. They checked his veterinary records, showed us their home setup (which was a substantial improvement compared to our previous boarder), trialed him through daycare for a couple of days, and then kept him for a full week. They kept up his requested diet, gave him plenty of playtime and rest, and sent plenty of photos and necessary updates throughout his stay. We went for boarding in a pinch and left as new clients excited to bring him back for daycare. I cannot recommend Pawsitively Purr-fect highly enough. Don’t hesitate, just go.
Not only is the owner Jacki so, so sweet and was willing to answer any and all questions I had without hesitation, but they also take the time out of their day to send photos frequently of your pets for you to see what a great time they’re having! My pup has come home happy and worn out every time she has stayed for daycare. I oftentimes feel like she misses it on the days she doesn’t go! 😂. We haven’t boarded with them yet, but have a couple of trips lined up for the summer and have full faith that Jacki and her crew will take great care of our fur baby. 10/10 recommend!
We finally found a daycare/boarding place that we can give 5 stars to! Jax absolutely LOVES going to Jackie's! As soon as we turn on her street, he is pacing the car, ready to get out and go play with his friends! Jax barks at everyone but when Jacki or JR come to the car to get him, no barking! He eagerly jumps in their arms, ready to go! The photos sent twice daily is an added bonus! Jax is our baby, and we can leave him with Jacki and JR and feel 100% comfortable! Highly recommend!!
Dropped our 1 year old lab off for Memorial Day weekend for a three day stay. Lizzy was very reluctant to go in as all the dogs were carrying on and the gentleman who took Lizzy in had to sort of force her into the kennel area. When we came to pick her up, we had to kinda force her into the car as she didn't want to leave!!!! LOL. We received numerous pictures each day and a couple of videos that reflected how well kept the dogs are in their care. They were very communicable, pleasant and we will absolutely use them any and every time we need boarding for our lab!
I was thrilled to find this pet boarding near us for a recent trip. Having a meet and greet with the owner, Jacki, to see the facility and let my dog run around put me at ease. There is a large indoor facility lined with kennels connected to a fenced yard with astroturf and toys. I like that the dogs have free reign to go inside and outside as they please all day (except a few breaks in their kennels to eat, rest, etc.) Jacki was always very responsive via text, and she sent pictures every day (usually 2-3x/day) all the dogs around the yard. My dog came home tired, but content. I will be using Pawsitively Purr-fect in the future.
Amazing!! I really have no other words for Pawsitively purr fect pet sitting. Jackie took such good care of my dog while we were gone! My fur baby is diabetic and needs insulin twice a day. We were updated multiple times a day with Autumns status. I have a hard time trusting anyone to care for her but Jackie was amazing!
My dog, Penny boarded here and had the time of her life! I loved the daily pics and knowing that she was safe and happy. We will definitely be back! Thank y’all so much!!
My two Golden Doodles absolutely love this place! My husband and I also love how they care for our dogs. When we are on the go.It’s great knowing and seeing my dogs are well taken care of is super comforting!!
A friend referred me to Pawsitively Purr-Fect and I'm so glad she did. I have a senior beagle and needed a place for him to board while on vacation. I was so impressed with the Meet and Greet process and tour. I was grateful for the fact that I was given a tour of the whole facility. It was clean and thoughtfully put together. They had nothing to hide, which made me trust them and feel comfortable about leaving my furbaby in their care. All my questions were answered thoroughly. Booking and paying for services is easy. My dog did great. While he was there, I got regular reports and photos so I knew he was having fun and well looked after. I appreciated their attention to my dog's special needs (and my worries.) All the staff I met was curious and friendly. They took excellent care of my boy and I know he will be a regular visitor now.
Took our dog to A Happy Place for doggy daycare while on vacation. Had a great experience. It was nice to know that our dog was being taken care of while we were out during the day. Would definitely bring him back if we are in the area again.
We used A Happy Place while we were in town for a family event. I called a day or two ahead of time and they were awesome about getting us in for the weekend. Our dog was a pandemic adoption and still gets nervous in new places. The owner was obviously knowledgeable with dogs and was a pleasure to talk to. Our dog was unsure at drop off but he went right into the play yard and started looking around. We picked him up a couple days later and he seemed to have enjoyed his time. He usually gets very stressed out in the car, to the point of shaking and stress panting, but fell asleep within 10 minutes of pulling away from A Happy Place. I think that’s the best sign of a weekend spent well at doggy day care!
Just deal with it right now. Your dog(s) are going to like Greg more than they like you. As long as you're secure enough in your own skin to handle being your puppy's backup plan, you'll love this place. Your dog(s) will love this place. Greg is a retired vet who doesn't need your money (but you still need to pay it :). He just wants to hang with cool dogs. The dogs get it. He's chill, they're chill, everybody's happy. This is as good as it gets. Stop looking. You found it.
Seems very difficult to contact. Why a phone to a business is a cell phone with no way to leave a voicemail and only goes to the owner. Can't ever reach and never call back after saying he would. I don't understand that. Never responds to emails. How could you not have a phone at the actual boarding place so we can check on our pets throughout their stay. This whole thing seems sketchy
My full breed almost 2 year old lab loves this place. He always get excited when we pull up to the place. When he doesn't see the owner, he will bark and they just shake their head. He also had several boarding days here. When we have to take a long trip for several days I am comfortable leaving my son with the owners. I never have to worry about my dog safety at all
My dog came back not drinking water barely wanted to eat not being active so I would not recommend this kennel it was the worst experience in my whole entire experience putting him in kennels and he was shaking up when he came back from this kennel I would definitely not recommend at all he look like he was outside for a while and I guess he was fighting for food because he was eating really fast and he did not come back looking healthy we had to put on probiotics for him to poop right and it would not be a good kennel to keep your dog at I'm pretty sure that they're outside the whole time and he was fighting for food and not getting water so do not put your dog in this kennel my dog owner gave him to me because she can't take care of him by far the worst kennel in the city and I am not going to give you his name and like I said it was a friend dog and she could not take care of him so we took him
We left our pups with Greg two times in the last couple months. They were well cared for and we had no issues. We travel full time in our RV, so finding a reliable boarding spot when we stop places is a must. Highly recommend!
We have been taking our 9 mo old golden retriever puppy to daycare 3 days a week. I was a little nervous at first, it’s sorta like leaving a baby with a sitter. I was kinda thinking that it’s not like she could tell me if she didn’t like going. I definitely did not need to worry about that. She is so beyond excited to get in the car to go (before we started I had to pick her up & force her in the car to go anywhere. Now she’s scrambling to get in before the door is even open). She also can not wait to get in to play once we get there. This morning was a day that she stays home and she kept trying to get in my car to go play at daycare. She gets all of the exercise & time with other dogs that active dogs need. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for quality care for their dog. The owner is obviously very caring and loves the dogs!
Happy with the service. The Owner was pleasant. Very happy to hear he was a retired Vet! My baby came home happy! He went right to him as well when we left, so I know he was a good person.
The worst kennel I have ever had the displeasure of having to deal with,if I could give it zero stars, I would. The thing that should have tipped me off about the lackluster care is the fact that they don't allow you into the facility, but even still the stench of the place was obvious from outside. When I picked him up I noticed he was not himself, he did not want to be touched, he was very lethargic and other issues I will wait to comment on as I am also having to seek medical care for my fur baby because of the poor care and bad treatment he was given. I only wish he could tell me about the abuse he endured. I will keep you posted. The pricing is what they decide to make it and I have never had to deal with an attendant who was down right belligerent and rude. This place is a money grab, they obviously do not care about their facility, so I know the fur babies are not cared for properly. Whatever you do, please DO NOT, take your fur babies to this kennel. I owe my fur baby lots of apologies. I will keep you posted on what I am told by the vet. The negative reviews are not lies, Believe the negative reviews, so you won't make the same mistake I did.
This five star review is for the groomer at Pets at Play (can’t speak to daycare or boarding, as I’ve never done either). I have a 9 year old doodle and trust me, finding a groomer who is not only willing to groom your doodle but also does it well and with a good attitude (many get annoyed) is rare. I always leave happy! He does a great job and in my experience $100 for ~the works~ is affordable. So glad to have found him!
Our little dog loves boarding here. She plays with her little dog friends and gets meals on time. Grooming here is first rate. We bring her in every six weeks. There's a new groomer and he's great
My dog loves Pets at Play! I have been taking Ollie to Pets at Play for daycare, overnight boarding and grooming for over a year now. He is a sweet but sensitive dog. Pets at Play is the only dog boarding and grooming place in RVA that he enjoys going to and being at. The groomer is always very thoughtful about grooming Ollie the way I like. She called me before she groomed Ollie just to confirm she knew what I wanted from his cut. Very blessed to have Pets at Play in our lives
When I tell you my baby loves this place!!! He is a mamma's boy, if he doesn't know you he will not go near you. BUT when we come to Pets at Play he runs right through the door to the day care and grooming! He comes home tired from day care so I know he is playing and having fun!!
Only been here a few times but I am now a loyal customer! They must be doing something right, because now every time I walk my dog he tries to pull me in the direction of Pets At Play. He is so ecstatic every time we go, I am starting to bring him there just for fun in addition to out of necessity! Do note: if your dog is over 70 lbs they won’t be able to be boarded overnight due to kennel sizes, but they do wonderfully accommodating larger dogs in daycare! My pup loves Pets At Play!
Came here for their grooming services and was not disappointed! They were polite and informative when I called with questions and were super friendly in person. And they made my pup adorable! Will definitely return for future grooming services and daycare services.
My westie,, Tucker loves this place to play. I think he has a girlfriend there. They are kind, courteous and true animal lovers. This is the only place he’ll play with other dogs as he never plays outside my home with any other dogs male or female.
I booked grooming for my dog a month ago and was very clear (in writing) about his large size (~100 pounds) - they even said it was fine in writing. I drove 40 minutes to get there and as soon as I was pulling into my neighborhood after drop off, the groomer called to say that my dog was too heavy to fit on the table/a leg of the table was breaking. He made sure to mention that it was not my dog's fault at all/he was fine. He said he has been trying to get new equipment for grooming from management but they're refusing. What type of table doesn't hold 100 pounds? I drove for 2 hours total between 7:00am and 9:00am all because they couldn't provide the groomer the correct equipment to provide grooming services to my dog. It's not his fault in my opinion, but if he knew that size would be an issue, they should have let me know well in advance, as I had booked it a month ago. My dog used to go to Pets at Play about two years ago and there were not issues then (and he was around the same weight). Very disappointed in the lack of communication and lack of resources to provide grooming services. A word of advice to management: do not advertise grooming for dogs of all sizes/approve grooming for larger dogs if you cannot actually do it.
We used to be faithful Pets at Play customers for over 3 1/2 years, having taken our 4 year old since she was a puppy, and our 6 month old for a solid year at least two days a week for each. Over that time, we’ve provided them thousands of dollars in revenue, somewhere around $8k-$9k between daycare, baths and the occasional boarding. In March of 2019, we sent our older dog in for her regular daycare appointment and requested she get a bath and her nails trimmed. When we got her home, we noticed she was licking her paw quite a bit and saw one of her nails was badly damaged, split, and beginning to ooze pus. No one at Pets at Play called or told us her nail was damaged, even though they said her nails were cut. We emailed the owner with our concerns and received a call back from an employee, who specifically told me she was calling as to not cause any confusion, but they could not get their story straight. To me, it sounds like they didn’t want a paper trail of any potential responsibility. One person said the nails were cut, then the groomer said they did not need to be cut. If the nails got cut, why did no one tell us they damaged her nail? If they did not need to get cut, that obviously means you checked them all, right? And if you saw one was damaged, why were we never told? Whatever the case, our dog went to daycare just fine, but left with a badly damaged nail which required sedation and surgery the next day to the tune of $275 in vet bills. Whether our dog’s nails were cut, Pets at Play was negligent at best, and deceptive at worst in trying to conceal or claim ignorance of her injury. Finally, to add insult to injury (literally), I went into their online system that weekend to cancel the next two daycare reservations (because our dog needed to be at home to recover from surgery), and they had deleted all of her reservations for the next year without telling us. I never said anything to them, so why would they delete our standing reservations? It doesn’t seem like a good business practice to alienate loyal customers as we have been for years. The way Pets at Play treated our dog, my wife and me is no way to treat loyal customers. We’ve always enjoyed taking our dogs to Pets at Play for daycare and boarding, but I no longer have any faith in how they treat us or our dogs. We will not be returning, nor can I recommend their services.
I cannot say enough about how wonderful PETs at PLAY is! Dixie knows when I say "want to go see your friends" exactly where she is going and doesn't even look back when we hit the door! That is how I know, PETs at PLAY is the absolute BEST. Dixie has only ever stayed the night in her entire 11 years with my parents, PETs at PLAY and me. I LOVE the emailed pictures throughout the day of her literally smiling and having fun! I am particular because she is such an important part of my life and choosing a daycare and place to board seemed impossible until we experienced PETs at PLAY. Dixie's excitement when talking about, going to and spending time here is exactly why PETs at PLAY will be the only place we go!
