I would give Leann and Rachel ten stars if I could! They did such a great job with Winston. He's still shy around strangers but he warmed right up to them. They made the extra effort to take him with them for all their adventures around Berlin, which included public transportation, restaurants, and sights. I can tell he had a great time, as he loves being with people once he knows them. We got tons of pictures and updates, the communication was perfect. They also took the time to come a day early which gave Winston a chance to get to know them and it was lovely getting to chat with them without a huge time pressure. Genuinely wonderful people. Bonus points that the apartment was clean when we got home and laundry was started. I cannot recommend them enough! They are welcome back anytime.

This isn’t our first time to have the amazing and wonderful Ian and Karen sit for our dog (Lancaster Heeler) but it is our first in our new home in Spain. We gave them the option of sitting for us and they took it. FIrst of all, they sat for us when we lived (previously) in Austin, Texas. They are exemplary housesitters and awesome humans. If they apply for a housesit/pet sit, look no further. THey will enter your home as pro sitters and leave with that same “title” but you will add “friends” to the equation. They show up to help you not just care for your dog. Top it off, they both have interesting backgrounds which make whatever they do in life to be exemplary people.Oh, and they are quite interesting and If they apply, no need to look any further. They will love and care for your dog. Your home will be well cared for. If any problems pop up, and they will handle them responsibly and like real pros.

Josh was a lifesaver! He stepped in when we had a cancellation and bonded well with one of our very skittish cats. He sent us daily pics and videos. Home was spotless when we got home after a long two days of driving…and even washed and changed the bedsheets. So appreciated! Highly recommend Josh…unless we need him. 😊

Rebekah and Matt were excellent! Very detailed, organized and clearly caring animal lovers. We were able to meet in person before we left town and they were thorough with any pre-sit questions or concerns. Rebekah sent photo updates of the pups on a regular basis so we could see our happy dogs. She notified us about a couple of possible health issues they might have been experiencing (thankfully all ok) but we very much appreciated the attentiveness and concern for them. Our trip was extended a couple of days so a friend stayed after Rebekah and Matt were committed for another stay but pics showed us a totally clean house, bed changed etc. Anyone would be fortunate to have them sit for their fur babies - thanks guys!

Shanda was an amazing house/pet sitter. We cannot say enough good things. She left our house completely spotless, she was so above and beyond with communication; we received videos and photos with an update about our pets every single evening. She took our dog to the park for fetch every day and we were gone for almost 2 weeks. I wish we could have Shanda stay at our home for every trip we go on. She's the best sitter we have ever had! Laura is incredible! For starters, she is a clear and considerate communicator who is reliable and trustworthy while setting up details for a sit in advance. From there... where do we start?! Laura (and her sister Stephanie, for a few days) took care of our cat & dog for a week-long sit. We were immediately at ease with both of them, and it was clear that they were excited to meet our pets and love them, and relaxed and comfortable in this role. They asked informed and curious questions about our pets, routines, and the surrounding area to set up a successful sit. When we departed, our dog hardly seemed to notice, because she was getting to know her new people! The snuggle-fest and hiking adventures that took place while we were gone resulted in happy pets who were calm and content. We received daily photos, which were heart warming, and assured us that dog hugs and cat exercise were taking place. Our dog is very affectionate, and Laura made sure that she received plenty of love while we were gone. Upon return, our home was spotless - tidy and clean (possibly cleaner than when we left, and we tried really hard!) We are games people, and Laura left us some of her favorite games to play (yay), and gifts for our pets, which were so fun to open when we got home. Everything was so thoughtful and kind. Laura is absolutely one of the top sitters we've ever had, and we are so grateful for her care. She went above and beyond basic home/pet care, and her compassion shines through in all of her communications and actions. She (and Stephanie) are welcome anytime, and we (Zora and Morris especially) hope they will come stay again!

Rebecca was the best pet sitter ever! Our chocolate lab, Kona, fell in love with her instantly and loved every minute of being around her. She was extremely attentive to Kona, taking him for daily walks and she did a great job of sending us updates, video clips and photos. We really loved that, knowing that Kona was being so well taken care of. As my husband said, "OMG, she is the Dog Sitter Champion of the world!!!" Jeremy and Brooke were fantastic! We have a senior dog and a over hyper pittie. They gave Daisy her meds and had lengthy walks with Fin to burn off some of his energy. Brooke sent me regular texts to show me precious pictures of the pups by the Christmas tree, which warmed my ❤️. The house looked great when we returned. They are awesome detailed sitters and will make your pets feel loved and secure!!

Otto our boxer recently stayed with Shady Acres over the weekend while we were out of town and he had a great time! We are so thankful Shady Acres was able to accommodate our last minute request to board him. We will definitely be back soon for daycare and more boarding! They made the process so easy and helped us during a very stressful time considering our prior boarding facility canceled our reservation 4 days before our trip, at no fault of our own after 11 years of sending multiple dogs there. We are super thankful we found a new and safe environment for Otto to play and stay! He came home exhausted and super clean! Thank you Shady Acres!
We absolutely loved our experience with Shady acres pet Ranch. We dropped our German Shepherd off for a three week training with Ashleigh and he came back a new dog. He’s doing wonderful at home. Ashleigh sent us multiple updates per week as well as pictures and videos of his training progress. We were able to visit and practice training with him in between, he really enjoyed their dog pool and we got to see what he was learning in real time. Would highly recommend!
Love this place, and more importantly my golden comes back home happy every time he’s stayed here. I used to board Simba at Action Pack in Round Rock, but they got too greedy for me, their staff changed too often and their service went to d0g$. I am so glad I found an even better environment for a competitive price and within 10 mins drive from home. Shady acres as long as Simba comes back with a smile, you have a loyal customer in me 🙏🙏🙏
My dog had diarrhea when taken home. Based on comments of staff my pet appeared as if she was going to snap at other dogs. My pet goes to the dog park and never has a problem. I then asked if my dog had outside time and staff indicated they did the best they could. When picking up my pet it took staff 20 minutes to find her. Very scary. This was a 6 day boarding stay. Provided 6 bags of food and they returned 4. Not impressed.
We just had our first playtime at Shady Acres and Peanut Butter LOVED it! He was SO HAPPY when I picked him up and he was SO TIRED in the evening after a long day of playing with new pup-friends. I really liked the daily sheet that came home with him, too! We are new in town and are so happy to find a place like Shady Acres for our pup. We will definitely be regulars!
Non favorable admin changes. I boarded my dogs several times in this facility and I was always happy until this time. They usually fed them separately at no cost and this time they charged us an additional fee which was not in the first quote or on its website. They told me when I was there ready to go to the airport. What option do you have on that moment? Secondly, they used to send a full report about their interactions and behavior during their stay but this time the card was updated the date they arrived and with less information. How do I know how they were during the whole stay? In addition, there were no post on IG, no picture no web cam working. For the amount they charge, I would expect to know how my dogs were. The only reason I would come back is because I had good experience in the past and I just wish this new administration takes notice that what put them in business is the good service they used to have. If you are a frequent client, be aware of these greedy changes.
2016 - 2018: We average a week several times a year. They love it. Also, and this so adorable, they give you a report card. I love that and I send it to my friends and family. They also have grooming. I have them bathe my dogs on the last day. The staff is very friendly and are genuinely interested in the dogs. They don’t have a lot of turn over, so when we drop them off our dogs recognize the staff. I feel totally secure about their well-being and happiness. 2018 - 2021: Sadly one of our dogs, Bear, got hit by a car and passed away. Riley took it really hard. About a week later we traveled and left Riley with them. I felt terrible about it, but they sent me photos of him having fun. I very much appreciated their thoughtfulness. We’ve boarded Riley many times since. 2021 - present: I’ve had good luck being able to board him kinda last minute, but I’m sure to book him as soon as I know our plans. I’ve even booked him months in advance.
Great service and care. My dog has a blast every time he's at Shady Acres. You can tell how the staff takes care of pets like they're their own. I've been taking my fur baby here for the last two years and we keep coming back! Highly recommended!
Our dog loves her time at Shady Acres! We've boarder her twice and dropped her off for daycare a couple times. She is actually excited to see the staff and go back to the play and kennel areas (she's been apprehensive at other boarding places). The staff are friendly and we love the report cards we get either after her stay or during it! Thanks for taking great care of our pup!

This review is long over due! So my family gets to this “pet friendly” hotel well Hotwire claims it is. Guess what it wasn’t so it’s 5:00 pm we are 4 hours from home and in a pinch! The hotel said of course your pet can come in, but that will be a $250 fee!?!? Then we will ask you to leave...So we get on google on a Friday night and the only dog care open was Canyon Critters Petsitting and Boarding!! Not only did Heather save the day she happened to be down the road, came and picked up our beloved Daphne!! Talk about the right place at the right time!! We can’t thank you enough! Heather took great care of Daphne! Even texted us pictures, my daughter was so worried!! Defiantly highly recommend! Thank You!!
