Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

honeybee was a great sitter for our 3 animals. She communicated very well throughout the sit. Our flight home was delayed and she was great about being able to cover the extra days. Her connection to the animals was wonderful. We were less organized than intended on her arrival due to some unexpected work issues, and she was great about rolling with the changes (e.g. the closet doors were missing as the painter hadn't finished with them). She used public transport to get to Golden and then drove our car while here. She left a few items behind, and her attention to kitchen cleanliness could be better, but we would definitely have her sit our pets again if the opportunity arises.
Kate was an absolute dream and was the best pet sitter I could have possibly asked for! Kate was extremely trustworthy, communicative, and reliable, and provided frequent updates while I was away. She left my apartment spotlessly clean and even took the initiative to fix my wobbly towel bar. Finally, Kate took excellent care of my cat Daisy and I came home to a happy and content cat! Kate was amazing all around and I would be thrilled to have her sit for me again at any time. Thanks for everything!
Lisa and her friend Sara were amazing pet and house sitters! We can't say enough great things about them - our pets were so calm when we returned from our trip and so happy... Lisa and Sara kept in touch with us regularly and sent us beautiful photos of the pets as well. We returned to a spotless home, fresh flowers and a note with polaroids of Soy, Calvin and Chickie! We absolutely loved hosting Lisa and Sara and highly recommend them, they are some of the best sitters we have ever had and they're welcome back anytime!!
Lindsay and Bryce provided excellent care to our two cats while we were gone. They are great communicators, took amazing care of our apartment and send regular updates and photos so that we knew all was going well. We would absolutely recommend them as responsible and thoughtful pet sitters who can be entrusted with the care of your home and pets.
I felt totally confident in leaving Darcy and my house in Elaine’s care and I returned to a very contended dog and a perfectly clean and tidy house. Elaine arrived the day before I left so I was able to get to know her and enjoy an evening meal with her before my very early flight. We kept in contact while I was away via WhatsApp and I was happy to see photos of Darcy relaxing in her usual favourite places. It was lovely to be welcomed back home after my holiday by a very well looked after dog and it was so nice that Elaine was here to welcome me and had the lamps on, flowers in vases and a meal in the oven. My house was clean and tidy and Darcy has enjoyed a week of lovely walks and neck scratches. I highly recommend Elaine as a completely reliable pet and house sitter and she is a lovely lady to chat to. I was so pleased that I got to know her.
I could not have asked for a better first time sitter experience! Terry & Vinnie were absolutely wonderful people. They took stellar care of my beloved pets and my home. Their communication with me was enough that I felt perfectly at ease during my time away and in turn, they were super responsive if I contacted them. My pets were relaxed and happy when I returned!
Toby and we were SO lucky to have Tom be our home and pet sitter for our Thanksgiving Holiday trip! From the very beginning Tom was responsive and communicative. He was even able to arrange a "meet and greet" with us and Toby before beginning his stay. While here Tom took great care of our home, and, most importantly, provided wonderful care of Toby! When we got home everything was in perfect order and we could tell that even though Toby was happy to see us he was going to miss Tom. I would be thrilled if we could have Tom as our zeewoi again. You will be lucky if he can do the same for you. :)
Angela and Joe are wonderful house and pet sitters sitters in every way. They have a great loving way with animals and my shy dog warmed up to them right away. They are warm, organized, confident, and thorough. They communicated very well and gave me frequent updates and sweet photos of my dog Chica. They also took excellent care of my home. My only regret was that I didn't get to spend more time with them, because they're such lovely and interesting people. I give Angela and Joe my highest recommendation and feel that anyone would be very lucky to have them their sitters! I hope that they return to sit here again.
Absolutely Incredible.... I will not lie, I was hesitant because David did not have any pet sits before this one (gotta start somewhere) but because he did the background check I decided to contact him. We had a great phone conversation and the decision was made. He came to my house the night before I was leaving to learn all the ins and outs of taking care of my fur babies and then put himself up in a hotel for the night before the sit date. The next day he came over in the morning to learn a few more details before I left. I could not have chosen a better house sitter for my 2nd house sit . David communicated with me daily, sent pictures and we spoke via facetime. My little guy was feeling sick when David started and with diligence, love and kindness he was able to get my little guy eating again and feeling better. I would invite David back into my home over and over again but I am pretty sure he is going to be in high demand. Thank you David for everything!
What an amazing couple we had as pet sitters for our two dogs! You can truly feel their love for animals. Nancy sent pictures a couple of times letting us know that they were having fun also with our Cody and Carson! Our home was perfect when we got home. They even left a beautiful potted flower and card on our island in our kitchen. We highly recommend this couple! Jim & Wanda

We’ve been taking our dog here for a few months now for boarding and daycare and it’s been great! Everyone that works here is super kind and my dog loves them. He is always so excited to go whenever we pull in the parking lot. Best part is that he is always pooped when we get home from playing so hard. Definitely recommend for anyone with energetic dogs!
My dog loves this place so much, that I don’t feel bad boarding her here when I go out of town- rather, it’s like a vacation for her too! The notes from staff are always adorable and it is clear they care for the dogs to the point of above and beyond. The extra services are worth the cost. Plus, they took one of the funniest photos of my dog ever. Highly recommend.
Chapel Hill Pet Retreat has taken excellent care of our dogs from our first visit all the way through to the present day. With CHPR providing 100% worry free care and attention to our pets, we are able to focus fully on the events and activities that occasionally carry us away from home. Thank you, Chapel Hill Pet Retreat!
We have been going to CHPR since it’s reopening. The staff has always treated our dogs as though they were their own. I knew that our dogs were always in safe hands when dropping them off and NEVER had to worry. Not only that but the staff feel like home! They have always greeted us with a smile, and have been genuinely interested in the ongoing of our life. It is like dropping our dogs off with our friends! Happy one year and here is to many more! Love Cash & Juno
Doggy paradise! Your dog will be so happy and loved at Chapel Hill Pet Retreat. In the same location as the former Chapel Hill Pet Resort, the new owners are amazing and the place is even better than before. Our pit mix is greeted so warmly every day, has loads of space to run and play and comes home so happy and tired every single day. He looks forward to seeing his pup pals and his human buddies there too. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, friendly and pup loving. Boarding, day care, baths, photos, they’ve got you covered! I mean, c’mon! Look at these photos! We love this place and simply can’t recommend it enough.
This has been the best daycare/boarding facility we have been to. Freyja is always super excited to go and always sad to leave. The staff has been absolutely amazing. You can tell they all have a genuine love of animals and have always treated Freyja like she was a part of the family.
We love CHPR! Biscuit spends a good amount of time here, as we travel, and he loves it. Under new management, the physical building has undergone renovations and fresh paint. Extended business hours are nice for late pick up. And, Biscuit loves his cuddle times, walks and baths. The professional staff takes good care of him, so we know we are dropping him off into good and enthusiastic hands. :). Keep up the great job CHPRetreat!
We had to leave our dog here last minute due to an unexpected family emergency. The staff was so accommodating and sweet, and Moose had a wonderful time! They also took great pictures of him through the stay. We will definitely be using this place again!
I have been trusting chapel hill pet retreat with my baby for over a year now and I’m very grateful for the care and consistency that the team has provided both me and my dog. Their grooming services have been a godsend and I love the pictures they send of her having a blast with her friends there. Give them a try and I promise you’ll be just as pleased!
Chapel Hill Pet Retreat has been an incredible place to board our dog, Cooper. He gets quite nervous without us near, but he is only purely excited when we drop him at CHPR. We love the pictures they post on Facebook of him playing with the other dogs and loving life. The rates are reasonable and the people are lovely. I fully recommend boarding your pet there for any duration!
I was referred to Cozy Creatures almost ten years ago. I have a rescue dog who had serious fear and anxiety issues. I had to be very careful finding someone who could deal with these issues. Michael has been walking my dog at least four days/week and Ponie has been managing my fluctuating schedule all this time. I don't have one negative word to say about their care. Michael worked patiently and gently with my pup and he is now part of her limited family. He is one of the few people I absolutely trust with her. He gives her so much love and kindness and has gone over and beyone the call of duty, cleaning up her occasional messes and leaving me notes on a regular basis about their walks together. He is always good-humored and extremely dependable. I have had to ask, on several occasions for schedule changes and Ponie handles them with grace and generosity. I am still waiting for her to say "no, we can't" and that would be okay. However, she always finds a way to help me out. I consider Michael and Ponie family. My pup is my love. I interviewed other folks when I was looking for someone to walk my dog but no one impressed me as much as Cozy Creatures. They are professional, reliable, warm and loving people. I feel priviliged to have found them. Susan Kandel
Working with Michael and Ponie was a very positive experience. After a week away, I came home to a clean house with content pups. When one has a large pack it is hard to feel comfortable going out of town. Michael checked in with us regularly.
For more than 20 years I have known the owners of Cozy Creature and the person they suggested to Joel E when he called at the last possible minute to ask for help over the holidays. (Cozy Creature was already completely booked with their long-time, regular clients.) This person has pet-sit for me on a number of occasions. The only reason she was suggested to him and the only reason he was able to get her to come in – at all – to take care of his cats at the last possible minute before the holidays was because she happened to be a nearby neighbor and wanted to be helpful and friendly. On one of the occasions when this person worked for me, I was gone for 10 days. During that time, my cat got bitten by a snake (as we now know) and became ill. He threw up 14 times in 24 hours—many times on my carpet! This person cleaned up every single mess. Thoroughly. She also called me to ask if I wanted her to take him to the vet. When I got home, everything was in order and my cat (one of several pets in my household at the time) was very much improved. In fact, I gave her an extra $100 because of the trouble she had gone through in caring for a suddenly very sick cat who made such messes. (She deserved more, but I didn’t have more to give.) Knowing Cozy Creature and knowing the person they referred to Joel E., I have a lot of trouble believing his story. The people he describes are not the people I know. Here are a few issues his story raises for me: (1) Why did he wait until the last minute before what is probably a pet-sitter’s busiest time of year to try to get someone to care for his cats? (2) The person who watched his pets is not an employee of Cozy Creature. He did not sign a contract with Cozy Creature, which is their normal way of doing business. He made a deal with a neighbor. So why is he attacking Cozy Creature? (3) But for that matter, why is he attacking the work of his neighbor, who tried to just be friendly and help him out? When were the pictures he posted actually taken? Without a date and time stamp, we only know they were uploaded and posted to Google sometime in January 2020. (4) Apparently two weeks passed between when he returned home and when he posted his review here. When he met with his neighbor after he had returned home, to pay her and get his key back, why didn’t he say anything to her? Why wait for two weeks and then post an attack on a completely different entity (Cozy Creature) using pictures that actually prove nothing? (5) About the lady who did the job for him before the neighbor took it on---I have questions. First of all, if he was so happy with her, why didn’t he hire her this time, too? Second of all, he said that this superior person had sent not just pictures to him every day, but **videos**. Why? Is it because she had prior experience with him and knew that if she didn’t document her every move, every day, he would accuse her of doing shoddy work? Could that, in fact, be why he didn’t get her to do the job again this time – because she didn’t want to work for him anymore? No way to know, of course, but I’m really surprised by the “sending a video every day” thing. Makes me wonder. The bottom line is, in a heartbeat I would (and do) trust Cozy Creature and the person to whom they referred this guy. Him, however, I’m not so sure about.
Ponie and Michael have been caring for our cats when we are away for nearly 10 years. We have found them to be extremely reliable and professional - and we always come home to content kitties and a clean house (and clean litter box)!
As for the rebuttal by Brenda Denzler, please see the pic I attached to see how reliable a person she is, believes in UFOs. Though they didn't directly handle my pet sitting needs, they directed me to someone who they partner with. I was gone a week. The litter box had a pool of urine in the bottom when I returned and because the box wasn't cleaned properly and the litter replaced, my cat peed all over my bed ruining my mattress, sheets and comforter. Before and after pics attached. The litter is completely saturated with urine and when I emptied it, there was still a pool of urine underneath. What possible benefit would I derive from wasting my time writing a bad review? What does it matter how long I waited to post my review? I have more important things to do with my life but I felt it necessary to warn others. The person was described as "someone we partner with, use all the time and recommend" which to me is a personal professional reference which still directly reflects on the refreshing business. The logic of this other reviewer saying how they have had no problems for 20 years is like saying, "I used my doctor for 20 years and didn't die. The fact that someone else died from his malpractice must be a lie.". What does waiting for the last minute have to do with receiving bad service? It's irrelevant. So if I go to the doctor at the last minute, it's ok if he kills me? My guess is the other reviewer (only 1 review by the way) has a personal stake in this, maybe the lady who provided the service or a good friend protecting their own? How did she know so much about the details surrounding our business transaction? Looks like an old bitty with too much time on her hands. I have no time to doctor pictures and give phony reviews. I'm a 20 year accounting and IT professional having a high level of unquestioned integrity and sense of morals having worked for some of the biggest corporations in America including the US Navy, Ford, Cisco and Walmart. The one picture was taken on my return. The other after I put clean litter to show the difference.
Simply the best. We've been using them for over 11 years and have never had any reason for concern. We recently were away for over a month and came back to the cats, the plants and the house all in remarkably good shape. They even found a way to get Prozac into our small orange terror. They have always been available even on short notice. Thanks
Excellent pet sitter. In business for decades. Very trustworthy and truly loves animals.
Gabi was wonderful with our two Goldens, Honey and Kobe. She helped us last semester 4 days a week midday for playtime, walks and puppy love! She easily established rapport with our dogs and provided exceptional care that was beyond our expectations! We highly recommend her. She is easy to communicate with and is responsible and reliable.
My wife and I are new to the area and were going to be traveling for work. We don’t really know many people in the area yet, but had seen Gabi’s business come up in our search for a pet sitter. The pictures on the site and the glowing reviews convinced us to schedule a meet and greet. She was so sweet with our Tinsley, a shy chihuahua mix. We were instantly on board. My wife and I both have physical disabilities and don’t have a car of our own, so getting places can be hard for us. Gabi was able to meet our needs, coming to our home to meet Tinsley, picking her up and bringing her back home, and being incredibly understanding about our schedule and payment. Tinsley instantly fell in love with Gabi, and made friends with other dogs in her home at the time. Gabi has such a way with animals and she isn’t afraid to give a chance to often stigmatized breeds. The constant attention to our baby and communication with me and my wife was incredibly reassuring. Gabi was so understanding of Tinsley’s quirks and mannerisms and Tinsley was immediately comfortable in her presence. Gabi has an impeccable business model, with a very clear process and reasonable policies. She is very willing to work with her clients to meet their needs and can plan for the unexpected. We are definitely going to be sending Tinsley over for more visits in the future.
Gabi has been so great with our fur babies! She really loves dogs and it shows.
Gabrielle was super responsive and continuously kept me updated! She watched my three pups over the weekend and would keep me informed on how my babies were doing. I would trust Gabrielle to watch my fur babies again! Before watching them, she would she came for a meet and greet to get to know them and to make sure my dogs felt comfortable 😊
My dog, Tofu, loves Gabi! We found Gabi after a few negative experiences we had at larger boarding facilities. Even though I have to drive an hour round trip to get to Gabi's, it's worth it when I see how excited Tofu is to see her. She's not the most communicative, but is on top of the important updates. She'll always send pictures if I ask and she let me know right away when Tofu wasn't feeling well. All in all, I trust Gabi to take good care of Tofu and give him lots of love in my place.
I was hopeful because of the positive reviews but I didn’t schedule and meet and greet ahead of time, which was my mistake. I won’t get into details about my experience but I will say that I ultimately wasn’t comfortable utilizing Gabi’s boarding services for my older/anxious dog over a long weekend. I don’t love writing negative reviews but feel compelled to do that so others will make sure to thoroughly vet for their dog sitter ahead of time. **Edit - this has more to do with why I decided not to leave my dog with Gabi than it does her cancellation policy. It would’ve been nice to receive a full refund but I was accepting of paying that fee in order to get out of that boarding situation.
My dog loves Gabi! They get lots of snuggles and walks in, and Gabi's services make my life easier. My dog is always happy to see her, and that is the most important part!
Gabi loves doggies and it shows in her compassion for the animals she has in her care. She's always been fantastic with my dog Josie and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone with a loving and caring touch.
Great dog sitter! She loves on my doggo as if he was her own. I get photos of their walks and when she has more than one 'client', video of them playing together. Definitely recommend Gabi for anyone looking for a quality, caring person to watch your fur baby(ies)!
Gabi took very good care of all of our cats as well as my very, we'll call him "excitable", dog for a week while we were out of town. She was able to manage all of them with ease and they were all very happy when we returned! We could not be happier!!!
I took my dog to Green beagle for a four-hour trial daycare session (2 PM to 6 PM) and paid $50. When we got home, I noticed multiple injuries on my dog’s nose, which made me really upset. The lighting in the facility was dim, so I didn’t see the injuries right away. Although the staff sent a text message and explained the situation in person, I still feel this was due to inadequate supervision. My dog came home unhappy and seemed distressed. Injuries caused by hump from another dog. Determined to stop hump's behavior, it is not known which dog hump is, and has not received any response. I won’t be bringing my dog back here, and if your pet needs a safe environment, I wouldn’t recommend this daycare. They do not care the dog!!
Penny is continuing to love and grow at Green Beagle! She goes once a week. And she just returned from a short weekend board and we had checked on her through photos on Facebook. She is no longer the timid, scared dog in the corner. She was in the middle of the pack with the big dogs playing! She loves the people there, and I feel she is well loved and cared for. I get texts if there are any concerns which is very comforting. We love it! Thanks everyone at Green Beagle!
Would like to give a shout to Alissa at Green Beagle Lodge for being the best groomer my dogs and I have worked with. And this is the case while Alissa was completing her training! I think the key is her communication skills. She inquires, listens, and really looks to implement what the dog owner wants. She is clearly good with dogs because one of mine is high on the jumpy scale and had a good bit of knots that I couldn't get near, while Alissa gave her a great haircut.
Love Green Beagle Lodge! My 2 small dogs come home healthy and happy. These dogs recognize the parking lot of their groomer and their vet, and resist going into either one, but they eagerly go into GBL, which is the best recommendation there is!
We love the Green Beagle Lodge! So far, we have only done the occasional Saturday of doggie daycare, but we take comfort in knowing that our 9 month old puppy loves going and is well and truly tired out when we pick him up. We really appreciated the half day assessment requirement before becoming a client. It helped us understand how well socialized our pup is and what we can improve upon. It also gave us some great peace of mind knowing that he was going to be amongst dogs who had the same temperament testing before being able to do the off leash, group play. The staff are really wonderful with the dogs and you can tell they have a passion for animals. Photo of a very happy puppy at daycare. Definitely check them out!
The running spaces are huge! The dogs have their own 4 by 6 foot kennel and get special diets prepared in the mornings and at night! They have a swimming pool and a football fields and their potty needs are met early in the day and before bedtime! I will definitely be boarding my 🐕 dog there whenever I need a sitter! …
Our Dog had a wonderful time here with both boarding and day care. He actively gets excited to get in the car to head over, and positively flies out of the car to go inside. We got many helpful updates about how he was doing while he was boarding there and they took excellent care of him while there. We also got lovely photo updates!
We adopted our pup about a year ago in the pandemic. The rescue we got him from had very little info about him, and he ended up being much higher energy than we expected (especially for our first dog!). Not having a backyard was tough despite 3 walks a day, so we looked into daycare options very early on. Green Beagle was highly recommended by one of our friends. Having that space for Otis to run around off leash was a game changer for us & allowed us to make it work. He loves everyone at Green Beagle and is always SO excited to be there. When we are out of town, we also board him there and know he’s in good hands and is having a blast. We started with a half day weekly and he now goes twice a week, which is the perfect amount of time to keep this energetic, athletic pup from any destructive behaviors in the house while we are working but also not overly stimulated. We also love looking through the daily pictures from when he’s at daycare to see if we can spot him playing. As with any daycare (for kids or pets), he gets an illness going around occasionally & has gotten an injury but they let us know immediately and we were able to get him stitched up. Not getting that pent up energy out while he recovered was the tough part, so it’s still well worth it for us. Scheduling is tough unless you book well in advance, but it makes sense because of their great staff, facilities, and just the way they do things (grouping dogs by size/energy, dog to staff ratio, naps, rotating through yards). Hopefully they can expand to fit the demand because they’re awesome!
I've been sending my dog to daycare at Green Beagle Lodge for over a year now. He is beyond excited whenever he arrives, and leaves happy and exhausted. I know that the staff give him the best of care, and I would recommend Green Beagle to anyone without hesitation.
I’m always pleased with the service and care. Green Beagle goes beyond my dog’s needs all the time. My dog has been going there since she was 3 months old, She is 9 years old now. They also give me updates during her stay.
My two cockatiels loved staying with Lynn and the folks at Noah’s Ark. If anything, there were times they seemed to be sad to leave! Their prices are reasonable, they were super flexible with my travel schedules, and they took amazing, well-informed care of my baby birds. Lynn also checked in over text, so I knew I would be in the loop if anything happened. I boarded my birds with them several times over the course of a year or two, sometimes for multiple weeks at a time, and I never had a bad experience. I have since moved out of state and miss them dearly. I have seen them board anything from gerbils to fish to lizards. If you need boarding for your pet while you’re out of town, consider Noah’s Ark!
I have boarded two of my dogs and they were treated so well!! They got good baths and their nails clipped as well as being taken outside for walks. Christina does such a great job too, spends time just loving and playing with them. Appreciate all they do !!!
I can not rave enough about the awesome staff here! Although our dog, Cali was not a perfect fit for their specific facility, they provided an excellent 2 hour trial for her. Lynn, Ellie, and the whole staff is absolutely phenomenal and I can tell they truly love/care about animals. They were kind enough to send some photos of Cali after we dropped her off, which is always a nice gesture. Definitely would recommend to others looking(:
Had left my dog for 5 days. Picked up dog who had a cut on his face that I was not informed of prior to pick up. Had paid for nail clipping which did not appear to have occured. Was told I would receive an update with a picture of my dog during his stay which was never sent my way. My dogs blanket was being washed when I came to pick him up on his scheduled day and I was told they would let me know when it was finished so I could pick it up. I never received a call or message. The facility is very cramped. 2 of the 3 times when I came into the waiting room no one was around to help for extended periods in the middle of the business day. Based on the other reviews I had high hopes but I will not be using them again.
I cannot even begin to thank this crew for how much they have saved me this week with my new puppy addition! I was not ready to leave the little guy at home, so upon short notice, they have taken my pup for day boarding during a hectic week with absolutely no fuss about it! He is still very young, so even pup day boarding made me nervous. I appreciate the consciousness taken to care for each individual dog’s needs and not lumping him into a crowd. After day one, Marshall took to this team extremely well and now grabs his leash from me in the lobby and off he goes…he is just as happy on the other side when I come to pick him up. I feel this to be the best outcome when trusting a small business with your furry best friend! I have decided to day board once a week to let him socialize and become more comfortable being away from us for bits of time! Thank you to the Ark team for loving my fluff ball!
We love the ark. The people are supper friendly and got back to me fast. They took great care of my 5 year old dog I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere else.
Our dogs love being boarded here together. The staff sends us regular picture updates and always brings out the pool for our water-loving pups. Here’s one of our favorite pics from a recent stay
Noah's Ark was great. They handled my dog's medication and her particular diet. Plus they gave her individual attention and they were willing to give me updates throughout my trip. I'll definitely be taking my dog here again.
This place is top-notch, they take excellent care of my dog, and he clearly had a wonderful time as evidenced by the many pictures I was sent. I will be back.!
It’s a great place to board your animals, though recently i tried to board my animals at that place and called Noah’s ark, emailed, and tried to contact the owner and never got a response. I used to never had an issue with that until i no longer worked at Noah’s ark. It would been nice if they responded and just told me look we do not want you to board your animals here, i would respect that, but instead they ignored my calls . I thought the people i worked with, were kind and respectful, they were when i worked there and even before i worked there, but since i left Noah’s ark they pretty much ghosted me . It is super disrespectful and unprofessional in their part for doing this. Though i know there is two sides of a story or a reason why they are doing this, and i do not know their reason, but i hope they do not do this to other people, because its really good place to board their animals. I really was debating on writing a review but really wanted people to know that this is what is going on. And hope it does not happen to them. I really respected the workers and the owners there, but now, i am re thinking it.
If you're seeking a consummate cat sitter, look no further! Kim and her colleagues will take such attentive and affectionate care of your kittiy, she'll barely notice you're away ;-)!! Seriously, they are simply the best. You'll even get daily reports and photos. Happy Camper has been lovingly looking after our beloved cats for several years so I know whereof I speak! Call Kim whenever you require pet care. You won't regret it. Guaranteed!
KIM IS THE BEST. We had a worry free vacation knowing that our kitties were well fed and well loved during our absence. Kim sends photos and extensive updates after every visit, and she will also bring in the mail, take out the trash, and even keep your house clean. She truly tends to every detail and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is 100% reliable and we are so glad we found her!
I'm a small business owner myself and really appreciate when other businesses go above and beyond. I also know how much time and effort it takes to give such great service. Happy Camper has taken such great care of my kitty. He loves Kim and we love the daily updates about him! Happy Camper thinks of everything, and wants to know all the details of how to best care for your pet. It's made any travel so much more relaxed knowing my cat's in good hands. Thank you, Kim!
Kim does a wonderful job taking care of our cats via her cat sitting services. We have used her a few times now when we have been away. The prices are good and she sends updates and pictures while we are away too. The cats are much happier staying at home compared to boarding! Kim is a great communicator and makes sure we make it home safely which I appreciate.
We love having Kim as our regular and dedicated pet sitter. More importantly, our cats love her, too! She is incredibly thorough and follows up after every visit with pictures and texts. It is such a relief to have someone dependable and experienced to call on when needed.
I have used Happy Camper Pet Care for nearly three years. I have never found a more trust worthy, caring business. The attention to my pet and also my needs were always her first priority. Stellar communications and heart. Thank you for all you do!
We've used Kim for cat sitting a number of times. She is reliable, committed, a good communicator (we get regular updates and pics), and understands cats well. With Kim we simply don't worry about our cat while we're away.
Kim is great and it's clear she takes pride in running a very professional operation. She is very responsive, organized and best of all, takes good care of my pup, George. Highly recommend!
Kim has been taking care of our beloved cats for years. We are so grateful for her and the professional and loving care they receive. Highly recommend!
Happy Campers has done a great job exercising our dogs and giving them love and attention when we have had unavoidable conflicts. Highly recommended!
I adopted a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy and he became available before I had anticipated he would be available. I travel for work and was in an area where I was unfamiliar with the Doggy Daycares. I was so fortunate to find Barkmore House! Hollie was extremely helpful with ensuring all our paperwork was in order and actually met with Astro (puppy) and me on a Sunday afternoon, so we could start daycare on Monday. Barkmore House has a beautiful yard and when not outside he was in a home environment. I was sent pictures every afternoon, which besides being a nicety, was how I learned that Astro loves being around big dogs. I had taken him to a dog park where we live, but he never seemed very interested in the small dog area. After seeing the pictures of him always near the big dogs, I took him to the big-dog side of the dog-park area and he has a grand time running and playing with the Labs and Golden Retrievers. If you’re in the Chapel Hill/Durham area in the need of Dog Daycare/boarding, I highly recommend you checkout Barkmore House. You will not find a more loving and personalized daycare and boarding! With the exception of two, most of these photos were shared with me from Barkmore House. Please note, the one where he is sleeping peacefully in someone’s arms, that is at Barkmore House, I don’t think you can find loving attention anywhere else!
I’ve been with the Barkmore house for at least a year now and they are wonderful! Colby is always excited to go and happy when I pick him up at the end of the day! They always send me pictures while he's in their care which gives me peace of mind while I’m working, and they are great with communication! Definitely worth reaching out if you’re looking for a trustworthy and loving environment to bring your pup :D
I moved to Durham for a psychiatric nurse practitioner residency at the Durham VA in fall of 2023. With me, I brought my precious companion, a miniature Australian shepherd named Jedi. I am so grateful for Barkmore House. It was like leaving my dog with family. I cannot say enough about the kindness and professionalism of the owners and all staff. The play area was clean and well constructed . It is bar none, the best doggie day care in Durham. I cannot sing their praises enough. I'm happy and my dog is ecstatic to go each day. Thank you Barkmore House for all you do for us
We absolutely love Barkmore House! Hollie and Joe are so kind and my dog loves going there! Historically, my dog does not like to be left anywhere, and acts incredibly skittish and fearful when I try to drop him off. But that is NEVER the case with Hollie and Joe. They send me regular pictures and updates when he is there. He is a happy dog when I drop him off and a happy dog when I pick him up!! All of the pics are ones they have sent me while my pup is there - I have so many pictures from them that it was hard to choose, but this is a small sampling of what you can expect to receive. We LOVE Barkmore House!
We have been using the Barkmore House for a little while now. We love Hollie & her family. We are always at peace of mind knowing our girl is safe and sound here. We get frequent updates and quick responses! Junnu (our black lab) loves Hollie and her family. We have used the Barkmore House for both daycare & overnight stays and wouldn’t want our dog going anywhere else!
We absolutely adore Barkmore! We have left our pup Hudson with them multiples times, for 3 weeks at one point! He ends up having the best vacation of us all! Hollie is so communicative, sending pics and video updates so you can see how your pup is doing. She makes the drop off and pick up process so easy, and has transformed her entire yard into a dog’s playground. We couldn’t recommend them more if we tried! I’d give more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you Barkmore and Hollie!!!
Hollie and her family at the Barkmore House truly love the dogs they care for and it shows. My dog came home happy, healthy and tired after his 6 day stay. I received pictures and videos of everything from him playing with his new doggie friends to cuddling with the family in bed. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a safe alternative to a kennel.
I’m so glad we found Barkmore House! Nandor grew too fast and became really uncertain of his body. He was nervous when meeting other dogs in the large doggy daycare chains and when I brought him to meet Hollie for the first time, I knew he was going to be in good hands. It’s so comforting knowing that someone will care for him the way I would in my absence. I love being able to take him to Barkmore House for the day knowing he will play, and be loved and be exhausted when he comes home. This is the perfect daycare for us and we love the updates we get during his visits!
I was in business school for two years and had my dog stay at The Barkmore House whenever things got too hectic and it by far has been the best boarding experience we've had! Hollie and the rest of the Barkmore House crew will treat your dog like family. I couldn't recommend them more.
Holly, Joe, and team are great dog boarders and day care for dogs. They genuinely care for dogs and especially their client dogs. I really enjoy the photos, videos, and notes they provide daily to provide updates on your furry family members. Highly recommend the Barkmore House!
Francis, our almost 12 year old beagle, has been going to Sunny Acres for more than 10 years (!) and three years ago her sister, Abby, almost 4, joined her. Until I retired 4 years ago, Francis was a Sunny Acres camper every day during the week and LOVED it and she continues to be happy as she ages. Abby howls as we turn into the driveway and both girls pace inside the car until we go to the holding area. This is Donna’s family owned business with her children joining her along with an amazingly caring, loving, efficient and exceptional staff. The staff love animals which is obvious as you see the campers interact with their caretakers. Francis and Abby rarely look back at me as they prance off to play the day away. You will appreciate how caring the Sunny Acres staff is! You will love how the staff get to know your furbabies’ names and how well cared for they are. Sunny Acres Pet Resort is THE place where you want your pet to play either during the day or as they board for a weekend or a week or longer!
Can't say enough good things about Sunny Acres. We board our Bernese Mountain Dog here at least a couple of times a year and they take excellent care of her. We usually add on a bath and nail trim on her pick-up day and she comes home happy, healthy, and clean. She's always excited when we drop her off!
We’ve only used their grooming services but their work is excellent. They make drop offs and pickups as easy, friendly and seamless as possible. And most important, our groomer does an amazing job on our golden doodle! Highly recommended.
They really know how to groom Goldens! So trustworthy & truly love all dogs!! I love this place and the people that run it are so professional! They even offer taxi service for a very small extra fee. We are picky where we send our fur babies’ No hesitation sending them here to board or get groomed or for play day! They are clean and truly love all dogs! The grooming was the BEST our dogs ever had! Their toanails for the first time ever were actually cut shorter and all fur was cut out of paws You can tell they take the extra time with your pet to make sure they are properly groomed! Would give 10 stars if an option! Kyle is the best and only hires the best staff! Thank you Sunny Acres, we trust you 100% with our “babies”!!
Great experience. Drop off is extremely easy and efficient. Staff is super passionate, energetic and friendly! Buy the package and save!
The facility was nice and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The dogs were cheerful and happy upon pickup. Not a complaint, just a possible suggestion... would be nice to have a once daily text/email with an update on care/activities and a quick picture to assist with the heartfelt absence of our k-9 companions. 🐾🐕🦺🦴
The entire staff at Sunny Acres is the absolute BEST! For the past 11 years, they all have given my dog so much love and attention. She doesn’t like going places anymore, but as soon as she sees the flags at the entrance she gets so happy and excited. I will not board or have my dog groomed anywhere else. We love Sunny Acres!!
I am sooo very thankful for the grooming services at SA! My very nervous 55-lb dog has been going there for about 1.5 yrs to have her nails trimmed (dremel). Kyle is experienced and thorough. My dog is in, done, and out within a few minutes, and the results are great. We've been very pleased with their services.
We are so happy to have Sunny Acres close to our home for our dog. We have taken advantage of the daycare numerous times and overnight boarding twice now. He gets so excited before we even get close to the entrance! He seems to be well cared for and comes home happy and tired. We highly recommend Sunny Acres!
A few weeks ago I took my dogs to Sunny Acres because I had heard great things and I needed a place to take the dogs to have their teeth brushed, nails clipped, ears cleaned, and one of the dogs needed her anal glands expressed. When I arrived and met the man (I cannot remember his name) who was going to be doing all of that for my dogs, he wasn’t friendly or welcoming which I was going to initially brush off but I am bringing it up here just because it did still rub me the wrong way. He was also on phone calls/on his phone the ENTIRE time he was talking to me while I was there which I found unprofessional, I can completely understand an emergency or a special circumstance but the entire appointment time is unacceptable service. When my dogs went back individually with him to have what they needed to have done done, they each came back to me looking frightened and 2/3 of my dogs yelped very loudly while they were back with him and he didn’t stop the treatment to consult with me first. My dogs have had those exact treatments done before at other places and have NEVER had that sort of reaction. I forgot to mention but the man wasn’t just unfriendly to me, but to my dogs too which I guess is what I’m more upset about. The dogs were new there and he hardly took a second to greet them or recognize their existence. While the dogs were back with him for their treatment, each dog was not back there for long at all and it makes me wonder the quality of the work that was done because each dog could not have been back there for longer than 5-7 minutes. A few days after this appointment, we left a voicemail saying that we would like to speak to someone about the poor experience and the next day or so I was called but could not answer as it was a busy week for me so I called back within the next couple of days. When I called back, I was told that the manager wasn’t in and there wasn’t another one to talk to so the receptionist would ask him to call me the next day. I agreed to this, but the next day I waited by the phone, both my cell phone and home phone, and never received a call so this is why I am leaving this review because I received poor service and wasn’t able to talk to a manager. I have had my dogs for years now and I know them very well and for all of them to seem scared after a basic appointment when they never have before tells me that something is wrong. I don’t know about the daycare service, but for the grooming service I would recommend that nobody take their dogs here based on my experience.
I cannot give these guys high enough praise. We were nervous as we are foster fails and recently adopted our 2 year old girl without receiving much info about her - and therefore unable to give the team much to go on either. This was her first grooming session and she had matting all over her body (at the base of her coat), so we were expecting a close shave. What we received when we got her back was an entirely new dog and she became super confident in the space of a couple of hours! Thanks so much to the Love Overboard Team for taking care of our nervous girl. She is so soft, smells amazing, and has been jumping around showing off her new ‘do. You navigated a potentially difficult situation with great care and awesome customer service! Will definitely be back!
We have been struggling to find a groomer for our yorkies and we took them to Love Overboard and they did an absolutely fantastic job with our girls. Their ears and faces look so clean and even. The price was better than some other places we have tried and the staff was nice and I know the dogs were happy. Thank you so much - we will be back for sure!
One of the best haircuts our cocker spaniel has ever gotten. I was expecting a "shave", but they took their time to detangle all of his mats, which was not easy. Needless to say, we will be back. So happy we found this place! UPDATE: We became regulars!
Probably the best grooming job my Australian Shepherd has ever gotten! I’m sure it helped proving printouts of what I wanted the end product to be. Great job of removing undercoat, too!
They always do such a good job with my senior dog. Even after I moved to Durham I keep coming here. Their service is also reasonably priced!
Wonderful dog treatment. They were able to groom my two dogs while I visited the area. Best of all, the visit didn't break the bank! Super friendly staff that took wonderful care of our fur babies.
What a great place! I really think my dog enjoyed his self he came back with a even higher jump then the one he was doing prior to me dropping him off lol, so it’s obvious they were entertaining his high jumping skills. I will definitely bring my baby back, I let him stay for 5 days and they welcomed me and was very nice and they reassured me that he is in great hands so I was able to really enjoy my trip ! ThNks guys for the awesome work and I will be back soon matter fact for his grooming needs too.
They are so good to my cats! They are kind people that love to serve. Hawthorne, Beauregard, and Duchess are happy and content when they come back from getting their nails clipped. I appreciate they always greet my babies with lots of love!
Always friendly and accommodating. I never worry that they take great care of our furry family member. Love them!
I have an English bulldog and she needs a lot of care. I brought her there for boarding for three weeks while I was waiting for my home to be ready. I was very sad about leaving her there. They took care of all her needs, which was quite a bit. They played with her. She was happy there. I went there every day and took her for a walk. They’re always friendly and very caring. Also, they are not over priced. I was very happy to have my Marley with them. I strongly recommend them.
We love GoDog Durham! Our dogs love the pool during the summer time, running around, and the staff take care of them like they’re their own doggies. Pups always come home happy and tired. Highly recommend!
Love coming home to a happy puppy. So thankful for the staff at GoDog for such an amazing experience! You guys are the best with all of the Facebook photos every day and friendly staffers who tell us how our pup does when we pick her up. My puppy Dolly loves the pools and running around with other dogs.
GoDog was great. Our dog is definitely a homebody and I always hate leaving him. But I truly believe the staff are very caring and work hard at making him feel comfortable. I love that they send pics! It was clear that Rudy started to enjoy himself more over time which tells me they are taking good care of my baby.
GoDog Durham is fantastic! We were traveling and needed a place to keep our Stella for several hours and they were so accommodating! She had a great day and we didn't worry about her at all. The staff welcomed her in with open arms. They were a life saver! Highly recommend them if you live in the area and definitely if you need a place for a short period of time!! Thank you so much GoDog Durham!
We had a wonderful first experience at GoDog! We were hesitant to board both of our dogs - one because she is sweet-tempered and thin-skinned, the other because he is big and can sometimes be unpredictable. But they both had a great time at GoDog! We got personalized updates, and they offered a Complimentary Care Assessment before starting boarding/day care to everyone feel comfortable as well. Drop-off and pick-up were easy as well.
So friendly and the run a smooth operation. Took my dog to full doggie care after not living here for 4 years and she was treated like a rock star. Very clean, well run and great dog loving people!
We had a great first day experience here. My dog enjoyed himself, it was wonderful to be able to check in on him throughout the day. The staff is very attentive and works hard to make sure all dogs are safe and comfortable. Loved getting a little daycare report at the end of the day and will definitely be bringing him back
Wonderful, clean place with great staff. Everyone is friendly and caring. So lucky my dog can play and interact with other dogs at daycare. I’m embarrassed to say he doesn’t want to leave daycare and tries to run back in. 🫨 …
We had an incredibly professional, communicative, and easy experience with GoDog Durham. We had not used boarding services for some time given bad past experiences with our often anxious rescue dog. We were thrilled to have such a positive experience with the team at GoDog Durham this time around when we were in a dog sitting bind, and plan to use their services again in the future. We also loved the daily emails with photos - it eased our minds while we were away. We highly recommend GoDog Durham to anyone who needs a reliable boarding facility.
I have a sweet, energetic pup who makes it difficult for me to cut/trim her nails on my own. The grooming staff at GoDog Durham did a wonderful job managing my sweet girl’s energy and cutting her nails. They were able to get them significantly pushed back. Thank you!
Meredith has been an amazing friend to me and my crew for 10+ years! Her extensive experience with dogs shows as she provides astute observations about their behavior. Whether stopping by for a walk with my dog on days I’m at work or tending the house and all the pets (dogs and cats) while we’re out of town, Meredith takes care with everyone!
Meredith is the BEST. Reliable, affordable, friendly, flexible, and knows her stuff when it comes to what’s best for dogs. My two beagles LOVE her. Highly recommend.
Meredith is not THE all-out animal whisperer. A mother to our two cats when we are away. A mother once to our dear dog before he passed. A mother to us (who are, as you might recall, animals also). But beyond her magical abilities she is dependable, caring, responsible, affordable, fun, deeply intentional in all she does and is. I don't know what we and our two ka-girls, and our home, would do without her. Why even the owls in our woods speak to her when she is here.
I can’t think of a better person to entrust my dog with. Meredith is thoughtful, amazing with animals, very professional, and so caring. My dog loves Meredith and so do I!
