Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

Angie and Joe were fabulous pet/house sitters and overall people! Angie sent daily updates with photos. Really appreciate the extra effort they put into watering the grass and garden. The house was exactly the same as when I left (including sheets/towel washed, beds made, frig cleaned, dishes put away and trash taken out...). Pretty sure Mia was looking for them the next day as she ran to the guest bedroom. Already scheduled a second sit! If you're lucky enough to land them as pet sitter then you're lucky.
Tina was a fantastic house/pet sitter for my cat Trixie - I can’t recommend her enough! She was very communicative and also self sufficient and I felt completely at peace with Trixie in her care. She took it upon herself to water my plants and also trimmed Trixie’s nails, which I always struggle with! She provided perfect company for Trixie, playing with her, brushing her, loving her and giving her daily medicine. She also left my apartment in perfect condition. I would gladly have Tina pet sit again. A 10/10 experience.
Kelly was flawless, she was a fantastic pet sitter and house sitter. She was over communicating with pictures and updates. We were at total peace knowing Kelly was overseeing Leo and Bella. Kelly connected with our dogs perfectly. We loved how Kelly daily took our dogs for walks and even an extended hikes. She has our full and complete recommendation.
Hanna did an excellent job sitting Molly, Eddie, Jasper, and Miley. She communicated well, took notes on our initial meet and greet. She went out of her way to help us get the dogs to a kennel when we experienced a family emergency and could not extend her sit due to work commitments. The dogs loved her and the shy kitties came out of greet her mid stay. She left our home immaculate and well cared for. She is truly a winning pet sitter in our eyes! We hope she can come again sometime.
Great pet care. The house was clean and tidy. The sitters had great communication. Would recommend again!
Sharon was by far the best sitter I’ve ever had! From the very first time we connected, she was communicative and proactive with follow up. She asked great questions prior to her stay and I could tell she’s done this many times and that she genuinely cares about the pets and homes she cares for. Sharon went above and beyond to leave my house in ever better shape, cleaning and organizing. It was a dream to come home to! Thank you Sharon!
Deboraj took great care of the apartment and of our goofy unsociable cat. She went out of her way to bring catnip and make friends with Rowan. She communicated often and cared to be as good a house and pet sitter as could be. I can gladly recommend her highly to anyone else looking. Thank you Deborah.
Toby and we were SO lucky to have Tom be our home and pet sitter for our Thanksgiving Holiday trip! From the very beginning Tom was responsive and communicative. He was even able to arrange a "meet and greet" with us and Toby before beginning his stay. While here Tom took great care of our home, and, most importantly, provided wonderful care of Toby! When we got home everything was in perfect order and we could tell that even though Toby was happy to see us he was going to miss Tom. I would be thrilled if we could have Tom as our zeewoi again. You will be lucky if he can do the same for you. :)
Mikala & Jake were great house & pet sitters for us!! Our dog and two cats absolutely adored them, and we came back to a very clean home with happy animals :) They were very reliable and fast communicators. They even had to deal with our power going out while we were away, and they handled it well. It eased our minds to know our animals and house were in such great care while we were away and would have them sit for us anytime!
Milly was a lovely house sitter and I’d highly recommend her. She submitted a really great application and after a FaceTime chat it was an easy decision to choose her for our sit. She is the youngest sitter we’ve chosen but she has a maturity beyond her years and it was clear she had so much experience with animals that we felt confident leaving her in charge of our menagerie. Olive our young Pom has never been left with a sitter before so we were a little worried about how she would be but Milly was so patient, gentle and kind that she quickly won Olive over. So much so, on the morning Milly was leaving ,Olive would only let Milly put her harness on her before going for a walk. All the animals were perfectly cared for while we were away and we returned home to happy pets and a tidy house. Milly’s communication from our first contact and right through the sit was great and she even sent a lovely video of the dogs having fun on their walk. I’d have Milly back to housesit for us again anytime.

I have a shy rescue cat that I board here. She evidently hides in her box most of her time there which is sad because they provide an outdoor run and some cats can sit on cat trees in the main room. I trust that they take very good care of cats and hope that my Coco will someday take advantage of the amenities!!
I am so happy to have found this place to take cat of my senior cat while we are away. Our 16 year old cat always comes back to us well cared for. The pricing is reasonable for the loving care the cats are provided while boarding with SF Cats. We will continue to use them as long as we have cats! Thanks SFC!
We use Santa Fe Cats to care for our kitties while we are traveling. They provide excellent care at reasonable price. It is great to have peace of mind knowing our 'fur children' will be taken good care of while we are away.
Santa Fe Cats is the best! My cat Gigi is a regular there as I travel for frequently for work. Paul and Dawn, the owners who live on the premises, have always taken great care of her, and are really attuned to her idiosyncracies. Gigi is very shy, so they know to put her away from the door, and give her a good place to hide. What really captured my attention in the first place is that they have fully-protected individual outdoor runs in a good number of the kennels. Gigi's stays are often a month or more, and I would feel terrible about leaving her for such a long time if I didn't know she's able to get fresh air and stretch her legs. The price is right, too, and Paul and Dawn offer good discounts for extended stays. Finally, I love the fact that this is a cats only facility. No barking dogs to terrorize the kitties at all hours of the day and night. You can't go wrong!
We love Santa Fe Cats. They take excellent care of our two cats. They are loving, fair, honest and competent. We would not trust our cats to anyone else. Highly recommended.
Bobbi and team are so flexible and accommodating to both me & my cat Maverick. He doesn’t like other cats so they make sure he gets his own playtime. Plus the indoor/outdoor areas are a perfect mix where Maverick feels at home when we have to board him.
Boarded my cat here for a 10 day vacation. Happy cat (I think he misses the petting volunteers) and reasonable prices. Affiliated with a local rescue, so the money goes to a worthy end too.
Amazing facilities and wonderful cat people! Would trust them with my own fur babies and would feel good about the other cats that are being helped while my animals have a great place to stay.
I volunteer here once a week to get my feline love fix. Clean establishment and bustling with playful friendly kitties! The cats here are well-looked after and loved.
What is not to like about Santa Fe Cats....the friendly staff, the cleanliness, the outdoor play area. My wife liked it so much she decided to volunteer once a week. Would not trust my furry family with anyone else.
Don’t do it! My dogs (poodles) were butchered! She shaved their ears and face. The head had no shape whatsoever. Poodles shouldn’t look like this. When I picked up my pets they were trembling and shaking. The Owner was screaming at customers and pets. Don’t allow your dogs to be abused by this person. This was the worst grooming experience of their lives. Clearly this women hasn’t the experience or temperament to be working with pets. It should also be noted this woman has horrible reviews on all the major sites and always there is an excuse for her behaviors. In response to her butcher job she said shaving the ears was “humane”. There is zero humanity or compassionate about this lady. She also said that this was a standard poodle face. I beg to differ. There is no shape to the job. She was simply too lazy to comb out the dogs properly. She SCREAMED at me for opening her gate. Yes, there was a sign saying do not enter, but my dog was whimpering and crying. There was no other animal in the pen with her. I simply wanted to scoop my pet up in my arms because she was trembling. In hindsight, the owner started her screeching long before I saw the hack job. She was clearly already on the defensive. When I rang her back to say we would be stopping payment she said I should do just that. She KNOWS she did a rotten job. This woman has the humanity and compassion of a rabid pit bull. Everything about her character exudes hatefulness. Again, unless you are up for a rash of abuse for yourself and pet, don’t step foot in this hell hole. My family and I are traumatized. Just don’t do it!
My Lucie adores (owner) Sue and all her littles friends at Wags! Thanks for taking such great care of her!
EDT: Rec'd call back from Owner who had the gall to tell me that she forgot about my appointment and acted like I should understand. NO apologies, just stupid excuses. I would never consider taking my animals to this place. Scheduled an appointment with them for 6pm; go my appt and they are closed, even though their website says they are open until 6:30pm. Called, no return call back. Nice way to do business Wags.
The owner seriously injured my dog. Second and last time going here. The first time, the owner left abrasion on the underbelly of my very sweet poodle but left it to me to discover at home. I have taken my dog to Petco for years, never an issue. Against my better judgement, I went back because Petco has shut its grooming operations and I was desperate. When the nasty lady/owner called and told me to pick up my dog, I asked "you didn't nick him this time, did you?" She hung up on me. She didn't nick him, she peeled his skin off like an orange rind. RESPONSE TO OWNER: You don't know who I am? How many dogs did you maim last week? I know, it might be hard to keep them straight.
Took my dog for a simple nail trim. It seemed to take awhile. I could see the person somewhat through the view window and she was really struggling with my dog. I will admit that she’s not a fan of nail trims. However, I’ve never had an issue anywhere else and she’s typically well behaved. Even noticed after leaving that not all of my dogs nails were trimmed but I wasn’t going back. Took her to another place for another nail trim and my dog had zero issues.
HORRIBLE SERVICE I have been taking my dog Chico for a couple of years and no problems. All of a sudden, I don’t know if she is the owner but SUE is horrible with customer service. She says to call before taking my dog for his nails but they don’t answer so yesterday I decided just to drop in. SUE came out like a bat out of hell waving her arms and with a loud and angry voice said “I CANNOT DO YOUR DOG” Didn’t explain nothing just said “I TOLD YOU TO CALL” I explained to her that I been calling all morning but she didn’t want to hear it and walked away. I don’t know what happened for her to act like that. The next day I called and she still said “NO WERE BOOKED TILL END OF SEPTEMBER” SUE Is an angry lady I don’t want to imagine what she does to our fur babies when we’re not there…May God Bless her and soften her heart if she’s gonna be dealing with our adorable pets. I will never go there again and I will spread the word cause no business should treat you like this ESPECIALLY dealing with pets. It’s been a long time since I been to Wags. I was wondering if anyone has an update on how the place is running
I help care for two older standard poodles and have been bringing them to Wags for grooming for several years. Stevie was great, and she is missed. The new groomer is wonderful however, and does a great job. Now I am also using Wags doggy daycare services, and it's a lifesaver. Thank you Sue and staff for your great customer service, clean place, reasonable rates and being so attentive to the pup's care and well being.
Great cuts for my three dogs and only took around 2 hours! Sue was very helpful!
My fur babies and I love Wags! The staff is always happy to see us and very accommodating to our needs. Whenever my pups know that they get to go to daycare they are uncontrollably excited and can't wait to get in the door. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a top quality place for their fur babies during the day or for extended periods of time. They also groom my pups regularly and I have always been very happy with the outcome. I am also grateful for the reserved parking spaces that they keep for us so that my fur babies do not have to walk on the hot asphalt to get inside.
They do an excellent job grooming my temperamental elderly Persian cat. They are professional and put my cat first. You can’t be mad at this facility when they do what is best for your animal and maybe not what you ask or prefer. I think several of the negative reviews are coming from that exact scenario.
I came to Santa Fe for work and brought along my sweet boy Bruno. Bruno joined Elena’s pack for daily walks and it was the best thing ever. He was so happy and well exercised, anytime I would say her name he would jump up and go to the door to wait for his pick up. Elena has great communication and takes great care of the pack. I loved watching Bruno on a daily adventure while I worked. The pictures were so sweet. I can’t wait to come back someday and have them reunited. Bruno misses you! Thank you!
Elana, from action dog provides an amazing regular dog walking service that helps socialize your furry friend and opens up time for your busy week. We adopted an anxious cattle dog mix puppy that needs lots of exercise and ensuring he’s had enough every single day got hard to do. We were working with a trainer (Erica, who is also a gem) and was recommended action dog. Elana would come by our home around the same time twice a week to pick him up and the relief that brought to us was invaluable. More than just the walk, taught our cattle dog how to be incorporated into a ‘pack’ and play with a range of dogs. He used to be a bit intense at the dog park but now he plays more respectfully with Great Danes and Chihuahuas and all the sizes in between. Additionally, she provides other services like dog boarding/ daycare and she has been the only person we’ve trusted to take him while we required boarding. Her boarding has been flexible and is awesome, she’ll stay at your house if desired or welcome your dog into her home, unique compared to other dog boarding services. Our boy can be a handful but she took him in with open arms and we couldn’t be more grateful. Give her a call and see if she’s the fit for you and your pup!
I signed my pup up for pack hikes with Action Dog this summer and they are just as great as I’d hoped! He comes back happy and tired after getting exactly the type of exercise and social time that I would love to give him more of myself. Elana is a great communicator and a total professional—she has a real process for introducing each dog into the pack to make sure they all get along and stay safe on their hikes. I would recommend Action Dog to anyone in Santa Fe.
I couldn't recommend Elana more strongly for anyone's pet care needs. Elana truly cares about the well-being of the pets she watches. I know that our dog will be safe and loved when she is in Elana's care, which is all I could ever ask for. We've worked with Elana continuously since 2019. In addition to taking our dog on daily off-leash hikes, Elana has also watched our pup for extended periods of time while we were on vacation, taking our dog into her home. We felt such peace of mind knowing that our dog was being cared for by Elana.
We used Action Dog’s services when we lived in the Bay Area. I can say, without a doubt, that our dog had some of the most stimulated, exercised, and socialized years of her life while we were clients. If you, like us at the time, work full time and have fur-children, day time dog-hikes with Elana are 100% worthwhile. We utilized Action Dog for day-hikes, overnights and occasionally Elana checked in our cat for us. From the pictures we would see while our pets were in their care, we know they were well looked after, and even spoiled! Elana was super responsive and dependable. We would trust her with any of our pets without hesitation.
Elana and the Action Dog team are the absolute best. Our dog Finnegan has been hiking with Action Dog for 2 years - he started when he was 6 months old. Finnegan absolutely loves the pack hikes, loves his dog-buddies and loves Elana (as well as all of the Action Dog team). We have also boarded Finnegan with Elana multiple times, and Finnegan has such a blast that he is sad to leave her when dropped off (we try not to take it personally!). He comes home from his hikes & boarding - happy, tired and well-behaved. I HIGHLY recommend Action Dog.
Elana has walked and cared for my now senior dog (12 .5 yrs old), Sam, since he was 6 months old. Elana "has a way" with dogs and dogs form strong bonds with her. She is trained in dog behavior and is conscientious about keeping her dogs safe while they have fun on adventure walks. Sam has boarded with Elana and even gone on camping trips with her. Over the past 12+ years she has been supportive, giving advice and referrals when Sam has had health issues or has needed to go to the vet. Sam adores her and I feel grateful to have been able to trust her with my precious family member. As far as the actual adventure walks - it's a no-brainer. Elana gets the dogs out to fun places and they have a blast. Sam comes home happy and well exercised.
Action Dog has been a new addition to our family once our rambunctious puppy turned a year old. They adopted her like their own, took her on hikes and kept my little Gooshy at their home when we were out of town. I can’t be more grateful for a loving group of people to be with my dog when I couldn’t. In addition, I have been impressed with the management side of their business. Elana has been responsive to all needs and on top of her game. Gooshy is a happy camper when she is with them whether it’s hiking or staying at their home. I never knew how much I needed them until I signed up.
Despite being only an occasional client of Action Dog, I can honestly say no one ever took better care of our Taz. Elana taught us things about our own dog, and helped us grow our bond.
Elana and her team are terrific. Highly reliable; they care immensely for all the dogs they take care of. Our Captain always returns from hikes happy and tired 😁 …
Amazing place! Very kind staff! They really helped me and my husband out as we were passing through town and needed to house our dogs over night. It was our first time here and if we pass through Los Alamos or Santa Fe again we will definitely be going back. Gin and Wendy appreciate you guys!
Years ago PhD Doghouse was a great place to board our dog. The last time we boarded our dog a few months ago she came home and had diarrhea and vomiting for 2 weeks. The staff was incapable of handling a dog that didn't feel comfortable with strangers right away and we no longer support them. Their new location in WR had no access to the outdoors and I worry for the wellbeing of the animals.
We're very happy with our experience with the DogHouse. We are very neurotic pet parents and they made us feel like our dogs were in good hands. They were helpful and patient while we asked a million questions before our trip and then when we called every day on our trip they gave us good, informative updates. The dogs seemed to have a good time and Ruth especially was really friendly and great with the dogs. One of our dogs even broke her toe the day before the trip and Ruth kept a close eye on it to make sure it was healing ok.
Very frustrated with this place. Had to change boarding kennels to one in Santa Fe when they stopped overnight boarding and no cats at the Los Alamos location. Very hard to reach by phone and website is non-existent. Owner is nice but still irritated with this place. Confusing emails. First they said they opened a location in Los Alamos for dog and cat boarding and then get an email 2 months later saying they are only boarding dogs during the day M-F. I wish someone would open up an affordable and dependable boarding kennel for cats in Los Alamos.
Years ago, at the original location, the care and organization by staff seemed solid. Albeit still in transition per owner, the new location (that wasn't even relayed to us at reservation so we scrambled to find it at the last minute, no signage) was concerning. Staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. Messy area. All dogs in one, large, indoor room with urine all over the floor, and the dogs in individual rooms seemed distressed. No exterior area for dogs to roam, much less grass, in the middle of White Rock dilapidated business area. And on multiple locations, pickup was disorganized with missing items. Perhaps business is in transition, but it is also concerning that it doesn't have a web or social media presence so we can read info, see reviews and images/videos. I will not bring my dogs here anymore.
Where do I begin... i've tried for years to work with DogHouse but its been a pain. Their locations are constantly in flux and not properly organized for dogs. My dog got sick last stay, and came home with kennel cough. I've seen dogs just wondering around, doors open, no staff at times in white rock. Its just a mess. Lately its not even possible to make reservations because their email doesnt work, los alamos location is closed, and you will get an angry person if you try to call (who refuses to schedule you). This just isnt a viable option for boarding anymore, seek other options.
The White Rock location used for overnight boarding is very hard to find. No mention of address on the web or Facebook. No one answering the phone on a Saturday. Did not come up on Google Maps or Apple Navigation. Stopped at the LA location to get directions, but it was closed and no info on the door. Finally the staff at the WR Metzgers was able to direct us to the building - an older office building that looks like it's being slowly renovated. No signs anywhere. After hearing lots of barking, we finally tracked down the entrance. The young woman working that day indicated that they had been in that space for 2 months. Perhaps a sign could be put up? There did not appear to be anywhere for the dogs to access the outdoors. It basically looked like empty offices full of dogs. Thankfully our grand dogs survived their one night stay, but I would recommend visiting this site in person before making reservations. Hopefully it is a work in progress.
Bottom Line up Front: Amanda and Ruth provide an amazing service in both training and care for your dog. I make the 2 hour drive from Albuquerque without hesitation because I have complete confidence that my dog will received an exceptional amount of love while I am away. I recently boarded my dog with Amanda and Ruth at the LA Dog House for 2.5 weeks. I am very particular when it comes to leaving my dog with someone and usually hire a house sitter. I have interviewed many boarding facilities in Albuquerque and the quality of service at the LA Dog house makes the 2 hour drive well worth it. My Dog, Chief, participated in the board and train program with Amanda. Her expertise and passion for the dogs she works is very evident. Chief was exercised and worked every day which made for a relaxing time when he was at the Dog House. When he was not with Amanda he spent time playing and lounging in the front office with Ruth. Ruth treats all the dogs as if they were her own and this is evident by how excited Chief gets when he sees her. The Los Alamos Dog House will be the only place I board Chief!
I’ve used Doghouse Phd. twice over the past four year. On the first occasion. I put two dogs there. Both were current on their shots. Both dogs came home extremely sick. Only one of the survived. DHPhd said they had an extremely bad strain of Kennel Cough run through the kennel while my dogs were there and they were sorry. So here we are two years later and we drop our dogs off for four days. The woman at the desk asked if we would like the dogs to have a goodbye bath for the day of pickup and I said of course, please. Today we picked up our dogs and they both stink of urine. I asked the young man if they got a bath and he informed me he knew he forgot to write something down. He did offer to wash them later in the week. Nice but it does nothing for now. We get home and now both dogs are very timid of me and my wife. They are slowly starting to relax but what the hell did they do to our dogs. If I could rate below 1 I’d do it. I won’t go back and wouldn’t recommend Doghouse PhD to anyone thinking of it.
A great place to bring your dog. They have dogs sitting all day. They also can keep your dog overnight. They were very kind to my dog and getting her into the daycare area. At first I was told by another trainer that my dog was too aggressive to be in daycare. but they work with my dog and got her into daycare with the other dogs and she's loving it now.
