This was out first house sit with Melanie. She came to visit prior to her stay, to meet the dogs and familiarise herself with the house. Melanie asked relevant questions about the dogs routine, feeding etc, so we left feeling very confident, the dogs and house were in safe hands. Although we were only away for one night, we were sent photographs of the dogs out walking on the beach and a message from Melanie reassuring us that everything was fine. When we returned home, the dogs were happy and well and the house was left incredibly clean. We hope Melanie and Robin will be available to house sit for us again. Thank you both.

We really appreciated that Tammy and Mark arrived a day early which gave us all plenty of time to get to know one another and most importantly gave our cat time to adjust and for them to learn his habits and demands! They were very considerate whilst we were still at home and gave us time to ourselves to get ready for our holiday. Whilst we were away they sent us updates and fantastic photos of our cat so we could see he was happy and well cared for. Having just moved house this was a reassurance for us. Tammy and Mark were our first sitters and we cannot praise them highly enough. They were very accommodating especially as we had only moved in the week before. Most importantly our cat loved them and was totally relaxed with them. We have no hesitation in recommending Tammy and Mark and would welcome them back to look after our cat in the future knowing that our pet and our home would be well looked after. As a bonus they cooked us a fantastic welcome home meal which we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated after a long flight delay and were kind to get milk and bread in for us. I recommend Caroline and Barry without hesitation. We had a phone call before we met and talked through their experience and our expectations. I had no concerns from that point forward. They messaged shortly before arrival to check all was as planned and to arrange a time. We had dinner together and a long walk with Laz to check all was OK before we left the next day. Barry and Caroline are independent, resourceful and clearly capable people. The house was as clean as we left it, towels in the wash. I couldn't have asked for more. Barry responded quickly to any messages, asked how much contact we would like and sent some lovely reassuring photos and messages of them out with Laz. Laz was in great condition when we returned after a week away, coat shiny and obviously well exercised. The photos of their days out together were evidence of how much he was included in Barry and Caroline's stay and exploration of all that mid Cornwall has to offer. Laz is a great car traveller. You don't know he is there and he is happy to go for days out, especially if there is fuss and food in with it! They are friendly, sociable and easy company. I'm really glad that they applied for our sit. They endorse all that zeewoi hopes to provide and I would be very happy if they could return another time. For those lucky enough to have Barry and Caroline apply to sit, accept! You won't regret it....

Thanks to Zeewoi for introducing us to the most wonderful family! Emily and Elliot are absolutely lovely, kind and communicative, and we couldn't have asked for a more suitable match for our home and Oggi. Nothing flummoxed them, and they were incredibly accommodating with our timings and house. Our baby boy clearly adored them and has welcomed them as part of the pack, and I hope they will be back for another sit if they'd like some more Oggi cuddles! They are also very experienced house and pet sitters and seem to not be phased by anything or any pet, so I think any home or pet owner could be absolutely confident leaving their homes in their care.

We feel like we’ve won the pet and house sitter lotto with Scott. Most importantly, he’s taken great care of our much loved little dog, giving him a lot of care, affection and attention. He paid close attention when Tingsha began scratching (allergy to an insect bite) which needed vet care, with great communication with us. He even took Tingsha to his agility school class each week (great fun had by all) and to get a groom. We’ve come home to a contented and very happy dog. The house is spotless, cleaner than we left it, with fresh flowers and the bed all made up. Perfect! We had regular contact with Scott all through our five week trip and being “fellow travellers” (in all senses) enjoyed sharing lots of local travel tips and experiences as we each visited new parts of the world. We were happy to lend Scott our car and he’s been great with it, super responsible. Scott is a really terrific guy and a fabulous journalist and story teller (you must listen to his podcast about his travels, it’s a cracker). In sharing our home and trusting our beloved dog with him, we feel like we’ve made a new friend along the way. We recommend Scott without any hesitation and thank him for a wonderful experience, we’d love him to come back and see us, anytime. Thanks a bunch!

Tina was a fantastic house/pet sitter for my cat Trixie - I can’t recommend her enough! She was very communicative and also self sufficient and I felt completely at peace with Trixie in her care. She took it upon herself to water my plants and also trimmed Trixie’s nails, which I always struggle with! She provided perfect company for Trixie, playing with her, brushing her, loving her and giving her daily medicine. She also left my apartment in perfect condition. Our dogs were well looked after and we got daily updates on how the dogs were doing. Prashant is very knowledgeable and gave us a few strategies to combat some negative behaviors that we were seeing with the dogs. Could not recommend them more. They will be missed.

Kyle was a great house sitter and pet sitter for us. We had a good dialogue prior to him sitting for us, and we also did a short walkthrough the week before. Kyle formed a great bond with our dog Charlie and also took good care of our rabbit Poppy. A couple of minor issues came up with systems in our home due to an unexpected power outage, and Kyle was quick to connect with us and then was able to work 1:1 with the service providers to resolve the issues. We look forward to working with Kyle again.

Our pets, particularly our dog, adored her and was really sad to see her go. It is obvious she loves animals and immediately understood the pack dynamics and the pet personalities. Neil and Anne have just sat for us for a second time, for a week. They are outstanding sitters in every way. Always punctual with communication and arrival. They both have responsible jobs and this is evident as they are both very organised. They care very much about the animals they look after. We were regularly sent updates, pictures and video clips of them, which is great to see when you are away. When we came home we were greeted by happy pets and an immaculately tidy house. Chester and Sonny are so good with other dogs it’s nice for molly to have some doggy company whilst she’s at Sarah’s. My dog Buddy recently stayed with Sarah and her partner Ben, for 5 days while I went on holiday. I was a bit concerned about leaving Buddy, because he is an 11 year old rescue dog that I have had for a year. I was worried he would think he had been abandoned again. My worries were unfounded. Buddy was treated as part of the family. He went for lovely walks and had lots of love. Sarah has a lovely caring way with dogs. I received regular messages, photos and videos. I would not hesitate next time to leave Buddy with Sarah and Ben again.
Absolutely outstanding doggy care. My puppies were treated like part of the family, they played with Sarah and Ben's dogs and took part in all family activities. It is extremely comforting to know that your puppies are in such safe hands and are cared for so well. Sarah goes above and beyond to ensure that your family pets are looked after and I know that my two puppies feel like it is a second home, which alleviates any worries you may have when leaving them. Sarah and Ben both have very deep love and understanding of dogs and this is so evident.
We had a fantastic experience with Sarah and her family when we arranged a meet-and-greet for our dog, Sunny. Right from the start, Sarah was super friendly and welcoming. She has a lovely home and two gorgeous little dogs, which made Sunny feel right at ease. We also met her husband, who is a professional dog trainer, adding to our confidence in their care. Throughout Sunny's stay, Sarah kept us updated with lots of videos and pictures, which was really reassuring. We came back to a very happy dog, clearly well taken care of. We're so pleased with the experience that we've already booked our next two holidays with Sunny staying with Sarah. Highly recommend!

These guys are amazing. 2 years ago, I became a single dog dad, serving in the armed forces, sometimes working up to 80 hours a week and frequently having to be away from the home for more that 24 hours. Central Bark came to my rescue. Certainly for an extended period of over a year Louise and Dave looked after my fur baby Liloo, a Northern Inuit (Husky/Mal/GSD mix) and treated her just like one of their family. Liloo would always be wagging her tail and well happy to be spending the day and night at Central Bark. Although I now have a partner and so use their services less so, they helped me enormously recently when my newborn son arrived 8 weeks early. They truly are wonderful dog people who will treat your animals as they would one of their own. Highly recommended.

We are very particular about where our dog stays when he's not with us. We've tried kennels, dog sitters etc but none compare with Barking Mad. He always comes home with a spring in his step, a wagging tail and totally unstressed. Caroline and Jennifer always ensure that the hosts who look after him understand his needs and temperament. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.
I have nothing but praise for barking mad. They have always gone above and beyond, even helping me out very last minute in an emergency situation. over the last couple of years my dogs have loved their time away and have been treated as one of the family. This is vital with having a bull terrier as they love people and cuddles. She comes back very happy and tail waggy.

Gentian hill pet hotel have been looking after our two greyhounds for three years now, and what an awesome job they do. Jack absolutely loves running around with his sister Willow, and also both love being fussed over by all staff especially willow. They always come home absolutely worn out for at least a week. Our dogs are treated so well, and it's like they're the only two at hotel, because from the time they arrive, they know as do we, they're in safe hands. We can't recommend this place for your pets enough. All animals get treated like royalty. The place from car park to reception is clean, tidy and little treats in reception. The transfer from animals going in and out is extremely smooth. Staff are always so courteous and friendly. They always put us at ease if we have issues, which I must add we haven't ever had issues. They post videos or photos of all your babies, so you can see them having fun. Thank you for looking after our two babies, we always send you photos back to their crash out state after. We highly recommend it for your pets.
Our experience with Gentian was excellent. We had our dog groomed b4 his stay at Gentian so he smelled and looked gorgeous, when we picked him up after 10 days stay, he looked and smelled exactly the same. All the equipment we sent him was washed and clean and Max looked happy and healthy. Staff were extremely friendly and supportive.
First time using a Pet Hotel versus Kennel. I drove 8 hrs back from Sheffield to pick up the dog. I was told to call ahead if picking him up on a different day. I called over 40 times and line busy!!!!!!. I arrived at Kennels and explained why not called ahead and said I'd wait in car whilst they got dog showered and ready. I was told dogs aren't bathed before return, I asked if I could use the outdoor shower facilities and told no, this was for the horses only. So after driving 8 hours solo, my first job after unpacking car was to bathe the dog. So I had to drive to local pet shop to use facilities as dog to heavy to use bath and no back access to house. Bedding was filthy and so was collar and lead. I would call to discuss my concerns but landline doesn't work! I was informed land line often goes down! Why wasn't I informed that phone is problematic. I was promised a FB video, no video ever posted. I have never had a dog returned from kennels without being washed prior to pick up. This is no hotel! I feel compelled to write a response to my review. There is no FB video of my dog on I've scrolled through to the 23rd April 2023. It's vital an owner can get hold of the place their dog stays, if you have problems with temperamental phone lines then let your customers know in advance. I've never heard of kennels not washing dogs on return. I understand you are upset by my post but I am upset. When I spoke about the phone lines to staff I didn't get an apology for the distress it caused me. It was just blamed on BT. Why couldn't I use the showers? In view of response I've changed review to 1 star
I was so nervous leaving our dogs in kennels for the first time , especially as one is quite anxious! They have come back to us their usual happy and bouncy selves. I won’t be so worried next time, the only place I will trust with my fur babies. Thankyou all staff for taking such good care of them.
Our 3 Dachshunds had an amazing time at Gentian Hill Pet Hotel. This was the first time that we’ve used a kennel, and the team there were fantastic and answered any questions or concerns that we had. One of our boys is super anxious, and needs medications for this - and this was no trouble at all. It was great seeing the Facebook updates, and seeing them really enjoy themselves. We’re super thankful for the team there, and will happily use them again.

Gentian hill pet hotel has been a fantastic home from home for our boy. He's an XXL dog and they homed him in one of the biggest kennels. He had a paddock to roam free in and wasn't mixed with any other dog. Which wouldn't be a problem with him as he's friendly and socialised, however you don't want your dog being given a bad experience of meeting another dog when your not there. So this is fantastic for that. He was the happiest boy being dropped off and picked up. Smooth transition on both occasions. He will be returning many times going forward. They are fantastic!
