Providing Pet Sitting in the Whelan, Washington
Look forward to spoiling your fur babies so you can travel with peace of mind.
Terri is extremely independent, cares for house and pets with equal love and attention to detail. Terri willingly (and politely) gave me suggestions as to how to improve my Guide Book and kitchen organization for future house sitters. I am pretty sure I can say Terri is more than a Zeewoi, she is a friend.

Caring heart and loving hands for your two-and four-legged family members.
Our Airedale, Poppy, has just enjoyed another wonderful 4 week "holiday at home with Saint Sheila"! Yes we have elevated Sheila from 5 star status to sainthood because she had to deal with a number of unexpected difficulties when sitting for us, all of which she managed with endless grace and good humour. In addition she had to manage a number of tradesmen coming to the house. Sheila kept us up to date with perfectly pitched text messages and charming photos of Poppy "guarding" the house, code for seeking out the most comfortable sleeping spot. Poppy really loves Sheila and moped around for a couple of days after she left. And of course we arrived home to a beautifully organised home with a vase of gum leaves and milk, bread and dinner in the fridge....not a thing out of place. Sheila will always be our first choice sitter, if only she would move to Australia! Thank you so much for your loving care of Poppy and our home, and we are all looking forward to 'next time' whenever that will be.

This is my dream job! ~ Animal Lover
Clare, in all ways, is a delightful, dependable, dedicated, house-sit, pet-care person. Our animals love her. They are calm and secure when we return and we can see (from the many photos she sends) how happy they are (inside, outside, and even sleeping on the bed with her). / Clare makes it a point to visit us prior to, and after, each time she sits for us. She is an exceptional communicator. / Our house is clean, the plants watered, and everything is in good order after she been there. It is with a great sense of confidence we call upon her to sit.

Experienced pet and house sitter
Mikayla was a delight. She came over to our house before her sit to meet us and Terra. She is young and energetic and dog loved her. At the end of her sit she left a sweet note about her stay. Our house was clean and sheets and towels washed. Would definitely consider Makayla again for a dog sit.

Lani is an excellent Pet Sitter and housesitter. Communication was easy, our pet Cleo appreciated her loving care. We came home to a relaxed and happy cat. I would happily ask Lani to housesit again.
Angela did a great job caring for Willie for 10 days while we were out of town. She was easy to communicate with and kept us informed about Willie, along with sending photos of him out on walks and at the beach. Angela was very accomodating when we needed to come home a day early - Thank you! The house was left in good shape and it's clear that Angela is organized and reliable and clearly loves her pet charges. I'd recommend Angela and will definitely include her as one of our top sitter choices in the future! Thanks again, Angela!
Leah was an excellent pet sitter and take care of our home when we were on vacation. Our dogs were sad when she left. She even made us some delicious tacos when we got home from the airport! We highly recommend her!
Mary Jessica was a wonderful house and pet sitter for our GIANT dog Mamma Mia. She took extremely good care of our house with it cleaner than we left it upon our return. Our neighbors remarked on all the walks she gave Mamma and Mamma seemed very pleased with the entire experience. Mary Jessica was self sufficient, needing very little instruction outside of our Welcome Guide. She followed everything I wrote and asked how much communication I’d want. I’m very pleased and would both recommend her and love to have her again.
Lindsay and Bryce provided excellent care to our two cats while we were gone. They are great communicators, took amazing care of our apartment and send regular updates and photos so that we knew all was going well. We would absolutely recommend them as responsible and thoughtful pet sitters who can be entrusted with the care of your home and pets.
Erin was a great pet sitter who took such good care of little Chino. She was very reliable, kept us up to date with videos/pictures, looked after our home and kept it neat and tidy. She even left a thoughtful gift upon our return and was flexible with our travel plans. We would definitely recommend Erin for anyone looking for a reliable and friendly pet sitter!
Andrea was the perfect sitter for our older Italian Greyhound and our shy cat. She followed every request to a “t”, and helped us to feel comfortable and care free for a long zeewoi. The communication of photos and videos were a warm reminder of how well they had been adjusting to our absence. Andrea showed care and consistent compassion for Darcy and Hammy. She seemed to enjoy them and our home as much as us! We returned to an absolutely spotless home, without anything left undone. She thought of everything related to us and our pets, so we could have a seamless late evening return. We highly recommend Andrea for any zeewoi, as she is a jewel. Anyone looking for a “perfect” sitter would be lucky to have Andrea as a trustworthy, considerate and kind person to care for their pets and home.
Ce was an amazing house sitter for our best bud Atlas. She not only took amazing care of our needy pup, she took great care of the home as well. I honestly think she left it cleaner than I left it for her! We certainly hope she is around the next time our best friend needs a friend. If you're looking for a responsible caregiver for your pets and home - look no further!
Jeremy and Brooke were fantastic! We have a senior dog and a over hyper pittie. They gave Daisy her meds and had lengthy walks with Fin to burn off some of his energy. Brooke sent me regular texts to show me precious pictures of the pups by the Christmas tree, which warmed my ❤️. The house looked great when we returned. They are awesome detailed sitters and will make your pets feel loved and secure!!
5 stars? Minimum, seriously, Tyler exceeded our expectations and we are DEMANDING when it comes to caring for our 4 pups! Fortunate to meet Tyler in person about a month prior, instant rapport, and she was basically born surrounded by animals. Professional high energy, and enthusiastic love for animals! We asked Tyler "Why the heck would you drive 1.5 hours from Nashville to hang in our small town?" Tyler replied "Have had animals all my life, current Nashville location cannot, I need my animal fix!" Tyler arrived the evening prior to our departure, met our 4 dogs, the eldest is special needs with bad hips, the youngest a wild child 2 year old husky, and in the 15 years of having family or friends assist with our pup sitting, this is the most positive and enthusiastic our dogs have been to anyone outside our home. It was an instant love affair. Our dogs are so spoiled with mom & dad working from home, nearly 24/7 attachment, they typically become depressed, despondent, ornery, you name it, even if we go out for 2-3 hours. The 3 instances where we did an overnight trip or the like, they acted as if we had abandoned! When we came home after 3 nights away (was going to be 5 but business cut our first vacation in 10 years short), when we walked in the 4 of them looked up as if to say "Oh your home how nice" and were content as if we had never left. That is a FIRST in 15 years. Not only did Tyler provide us with updates, photos, messages, etc. she organized (we did not require nor ask) our complete chaos of a large kitchen drawers, pots pans, you name it, it was the most organized we have been in a LONG time. Our eldest handicapped Husky, usually has accidents in the house at least once a day. The youngest 2 year old loves to chew up the carpet, toys, bedding. Under Tyler's watch, no accident, no chewing, and total happiness from a new affectionate friend! This was our VERY FIRST Trusted House/Pet sitter foray, and Tyler far exceeded or expectations, and set a standard that will be difficult for others to follow. Allowing a total stranger to watch your beloved pets and home is a serious undertaking, and Trusted House/Pet provided us with a rock star. Family and friends alike joke how we are over the top with our dogs, and Tyler did not bat an eye, and provided a seamless transition of puppy affection and well being. This review may seem over the top to some, all I can say is this is 100% true to life, and other Home/Pet owners are welcome to reach out to us for further referral. Those who are able to work with Tyler depending on her work/travel schedule would be well served to invite her without hesitation. Tyler, THANK YOU for allowing us to enjoy a few nights for the first time in a decade! Dean & Diana Smith

My Golden girl Ruthie attends daycare 1 or 2 days per week. She runs to the door dragging me in ready to greet her faves Emma and Delaney. The staff are always friendly and welcoming as we enter. Ruthie recently spent a full week with TWA while I was on vacation. She was excited to greet me but turned around ready to go right back in for more play and lovins from the crew. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my girl.
Beyond fantastic place. Beyond fantastic staff. 6 stars should be available for Tail Waggin' Adventures. Would highly recommend for all your daycare / boarding needs. My guy can't contain himself when we pull up to drop him off. Pic for reference of how depressed he gets at the weekend when we don't bring him 😂 …
I've only used Tail Waggin for boarding. As much as I'd like to try daycare because I know my dog would love it, my experience so far does not give me the confidence that they have their ducks in a row enough for me to want to use them more. 1. The last two times I dropped off for boarding they had our information wrong. 2. One recent drop off I was reprimanded for dropping off at the "wrong time". I was dropping off Sunday in the 4-6 timeframe, because those are the hours posted on their website. Apparently those are only pickup hours, drop off is in the morning, but that was never communicated. 3. Then there's the "one family in the lobby at a time" policy. I understand the policy but if they have a plan for traffic flow that's not communicated either. Sometimes there's a line outside, sometimes anyone without a dog (I assume picking up) just walk in ahead of people waiting outside with their dogs. I'm not interested in standing outside for 20 minutes while they can't maintain a first come, first serve process.
We just picked our dog up from our first time ever boarding him. We had our worries, but of course he was perfectly happy and healthy when we picked him up. I'm unsure if they spend time reinforcing obedience, but it seemed like my 6-month-old pup came back home with an even better understanding of his commands. I was very pleased with their optional exit bath so we wouldn't have to worry about bathing him ourselves after our vacation. My favorite part is that they took photos of the dogs throughout the day and posted them on their Facebook page for owners to see(attached). It really gave me some peace of mind to see him playing well with the other dogs. They also handled the current local canine virus problem efficiently and professionally. I hope we can take him back to Tail Waggin' Adventures in the future!
Renee and her staff are AMAZING! They are so knowledgeable and helpful with all aspects of training tiny dogs. My dogs love going to Tail Waggin' Adventures to learn new things. I highly recommend Renee and her staff for your dog training needs. I cannot wait for the Rally Class to start!
I have done group classes with both of my dogs(just over 1 year heeler/shepherd mix and 8 mo bully breed mix)and doggy daycare. The staff is wonderful, the trainers are professional and give excellent advice and guidance for training and connecting with your pup.
Worst place I’ve ever left my dogs. They scared my boy to the point of him actively avoiding the entrance when being dropped off. They didn’t work on his trauma to kennels before forcing him into an impact crate. I will never reccomend this place to any rescue animals. They do not take into consideration what these pets have been through prior to “working with them”. My boy has never been aggressive until they harmed him by grabbing his neck and forcing him into a situation that scared him. They told me he was doing great until he did things they were unhappy with in response to poor treatment. They didn’t give him his anxiety medicine at a proper time or by the amount I specified he needed.
I only took my puppy here for a month but he went to almost every puppy playtime and he loved it! (I'm assuming) by the end of the month he'd be pulling me into the building. We also took basic puppy training here and the trainer was very helpful and had great information. Staff was super friendly and the prices are unbeatable! Sad we had to move away. They also take photos of the dogs and post them on fb. I got the cutest photos of ny puppy from them! Thanks for everything!
Nothing but amazing things to say about Tail Waggin Adventures! Our pup Fig stayed with them while we were on vacation and we couldn’t have been more happy with her boarding there. They took great care of her and she definitely had so much fun! We loved that they post pictures of the dogs almost everyday, so we could see how she was doing! Highly recommend!
My dog Koda loves this place and always comes home tired and happy! The staff are always friendly and attentive, and I don’t feel anxious dropping my dog off with them for the day. You can check out their Facebook page where they post photos of the dogs during daycare and it’s just an added bonus. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere to drop your dog off while you work or go to class knowing they’ll be well taken care of.
Love the staff at Tail Waggin Adventures! They have been exceptionally kind to my anxious dog. Our trainer, Elijah, is both patient and enthusiastic. Training day is so much fun that my dog gets excited to "go to school" as soon as we make the turn on to Airport Road. I highly recommend their services:)
They are very knowledgeable & wonderful with my puppy. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with them. Elijah was exceptional!
This is a place for learning Dog Obedience. They offer several classes each spring/fall. They also offer kenneling/boarding services! Overall they have great staff that loves the animals!
Great dog trainers
Exceptional Care and Outstanding Service Palouse River Kennels exceeded every expectation when they cared for our three dogs on short notice. From the moment we reached out, their staff went above and beyond to communicate with us and ensure our pets were well taken care of. Their dedication and pride in their establishment are evident in every detail. As someone with extensive experience working with domestic, exotic, and exhibition animals, I can confidently say that their care and professionalism are truly unmatched. The facilities are immaculate, and their prices are beyond reasonable for the exceptional service they provide. Palouse River Kennels is an outstanding example of what a pet care facility should be. We are so grateful for their kindness and commitment to our furry family members and would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone seeking top-tier care for their pets.
John is incredible. We were evacuated from our home due to a fire with an energetic German wire haired pointer. He stayed open late for us to allow us to drop him off. All the while, I left my tailgate open from the stress and some of my documents fell out of the truck. They tried to dry them and saved them for us, all while I was trying to hide tears of gratitude for the amount of help they provided us in a difficult situation. This is the only place I would trust with our hunting dogs, and were so incredibly grateful that they were willing to help us in a very tight spot.
We've used Palouse River Kennels for the past few years and boarded our two dogs here several times. We always felt they were well taken care of and safe. The facility is always tidy, well taken care of and professional. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I would recommend this boarder to anyone in the area in need of a reliable place to board their canines.
I took my 1 year old Norwegian Elkhound named Stormi to the one month training program and had the best experience with John! Before, Stormi would jump up on people, pull on the leash, bark nonstop, and more. John is an excellent trainer and you can tell that he’s a seasoned professional. He gave weekly updates which included phone calls, pictures, and videos of how Stormi was doing. He taught her to heel (on or off leash), stay, come (in any situation), leave it, the “off” command, “quiet” command, and more! I just got back from my first walk with Stormi back home and wow! She followed all of the commands beautifully and I felt comfortable walking with her off leash and she heeled right at my side! She even behaved when we passed a bunch of cows. She would’ve been uncontrollable before going to work with John. I would recommend him to anybody and it was 100% worth the money.
I got my lab puppy as an ESA. She made me more emotional than not. I emailed PRK about her actions, ie: leash pulling on walks, not obeying basic commands, etc. John spent probably an hour talking to me on the phone about her. I was amazed he would take the time to do that as other trainers I've used in the past never did. I signed her up for the month training program but I did board her for a day so John and his staff could be acquainted with her first ... course I had day long appointments and since she liked to chew holes in the furniture to take the stuffing out, I was reluctant to leave her at home. John trained her on the e-collar and she is a totally different puppy. She goes on early morning walks without the e-collar and she continues to do what she was trained to do. Many people have told me she is very calm, obedient, and I've always given them the fact she was trained by a very experienced trainer and where. The biggest dream and goal achieved was to be able to walk her off leash and let her wonder around the yard off leash. John made that dream come true. I am very happy with the results and would highly recommend John, his staff, and PRK for training or boarding their precious fur baby.
We took our GSP/ Lab mix to John so he could help us train our dog with an e collar and work with his recall. We spent 1-2 hours there and our dog was transformed! We can now play fetch with him in parks and know he will bring the ball back without distractions. We can confidently have him off leash and he stays close and is much more aware of us and less distracted. John also worked with “leave it” and it made a huge difference with his reactivity around some other dogs. I highly recommend John. He has lots of dog sense and understanding. It’s definitely worth the money to have such a well behaved dog!!
Very easy to work with, very clean and well kept kennels. Boarded my dogs there multiple times. They pay attention to any issues that come up and call me promptly. Good space, fast response times. They book up early around the holidays. Prices are pretty dang reasonable compared to Spokane. Will continue to board here.
Our Lab/Husky mix Sadie has stayed at Palouse River Kennels several times. Occasionally an over night while we are away and more than once a 3 week stay while we traveled outside the USA. Three days ago we were getting ready to drive to Seattle to visit family, we planned to leave Sadie for an overnight stay. As I was loading her extra bed and food bucket into our pickup the night before we left, Sadie noticed and immediately knew we were headed the next day. Sadie was immediately in the pickup and ready to go, it took bribing with treats to get her back into the house to spend the night. The next morning she waited by the door for her ride out to the kennel. As we left the highway to go to the kennel, she started pacing in the back seat in anticipation to get to the kennel. Then as we started up the hill, the Husky in her started talking and letting me know she was happy. Sadie loves her time here and is always happy and delighted when we return. It's a great feeling to know she likes he surroundings and the staff while we are gone. Sadie is a beloved member of our family and we feel comforted that she has no issues with staying at Palouse River Kennels. The staff are friendly and always welcoming. Their bathing service is excellent too! I highly recommend Palouse River Kennels.
We have been boarding our dogs here since the kennel first opened, and we have had nothing but great experiences with the owner and staff. This is indeed the best kennel in the area. Our dogs have always been very well cared for and always seem excited when we take them there for boarding. One of our dogs is very elderly, and we are always kept informed on how she is doing while she is boarding. We bought a puppy last year and we were having behavioral issues with the puppy. John worked with her for half an hour and had her trained and responding to commands in no time at all. The owner and staff are always very professional and truly care about the dogs boarding with them. The kennels are kept clean and the dogs are exercised regularly. They always have plenty of water in their kennel and are fed properly per our instructions we leave with the staff. I cannot recommend a better place to leave your dogs!
I know John Sykes, the owner of Palouse River Kennels, on both a professional and personal level, and he is an extremely conscientious and upstanding individual. Palouse River Kennels is an outstanding facility, and I board my dog there frequently. I am a veterinarian, and I trust John's care of my dog without hesitation. If I didn't already live in Palouse, I would drive miles to board my dog with him. He is compassionate toward all animals and is very knowledgeable regarding their care. I know that Palouse River Kennels will continue to be the excellent boarding facility that it is because it is run by an owner with integrity.
Very good training facilities for dog and owner. excellent boarding when you're out of town when you can't take your best friend with you. The size and quality of the facilities is excellent.
I cant recommend Snake River Four Paws enough! Cassie helped transform our high energy Labrador pup into a much better citizen. I was excited to see how quickly we saw results and how much she cared about our puppy. Their training methods are effective, kind and personalized to meet the dog’s owners needs. If you are looking for a knowledgeable patient professional, check out Snake River Four Paws! Thank you Cassie!!
My pups have been going to Snake River Four Paws since they were under a year old. We started with training and immediately felt so much trust in Cass and her facility so we started boarding here and there. We now go on a 2 week long vacation south to see family every year and we leave our babies with the SN4P crew and I know I have absolutely nothing to worry about! I love getting updates throughout our trip and she always seems to get the best pictures of my crazy huskies. We recommend this facility to everyone from training to boarding and everything in between. I am so happy we found this place! 🫶🏻
What a beautiful facility! The staff and other patrons are so much fun! The Agility fun day was a blast, I look forward to the next one. If wanting to train your dog is on your list of things to do, sign up with Snake River Four Paws!
Cass is simply amazing! We have done obedience classes with her and she is full of knowledge and is so helpful. You can tell she has such compassion for what she does. We have also boarded our dogs with her and they love her! Her communication is great and we love when we get pics of our pups when we are away. I’d highly recommend Snake River Four Paws for training and boarding!
Zero stars. Unfortunately I was told I could no longer attend classes at this business for reasons based on incorrect assumptions. No attempt at discussion was made after years and thousands of dollars, just a messenger notification…The whole situation was totally unfair. So sad. This situation made a huge impact on my life and really hurt. I can’t recommend someone who cares about dogs but is totally indifferent to the owner. Cassie needs to realize that especially with older clients her decisions affect not only her business, but the life of some clients. This is a small town and there are not a lot of trainers. We did nothing wrong to deserve being banned from her business. She needs to learn to communicate and make sure that her snap decisions are justified or better yet she needs to quit making snap decisions! My hope from this review is that Cassie will take more time to learn as much as possible about a situation before making a decision that so negatively affects another person’s life that was undeserved. She claims that we did not adhere to her health policy, but that is untrue. She jumped to that decision without complete and true information.
When I reached out to Snake River Four Paws , I had alot of questions. From training different breeds to cleanliness , to policies & procedures. I am very picky when it comes to immunizations & what cleaners facilities use. I have multiple pets that range from low maintenance to high maintenance. Cass & the team at Snake River Four Paws went above & beyond what I was wanting. I knew taking my dogs to Snake River Four Paws , I wouldn’t have to worry if my dogs got worms , got sick or got mistreated. I knew taking my dogs there , she wouldn’t put my dogs in a position that they would feel uncomfortable . The facility smells clean , looks clean and organized. 5 stars all around .
I’ve been regularly attending classes with my dogs at SR4P for about a year and a half. Our valley is fortunate to have someone with Cassie’s venerable experience in dog training. The classes are immensely rewarding for both my dogs as well as me. Additionally, SR4P is the only facility in the area where I feel the safety and health of my dogs is a priority.
This owner/ trainer needs to realize that her business extends beyond just training a dog. Some older people spend much of their retirement life working with their dogs. She unfairly told a customer that she no longer wanted her business. There was no discussion or clarification of the situation, she just made a snap decision and as there are no other trainers in the area it was a huge detriment to this person’s life. I wish her ego was not so fragile as to admit that she made a mistake!
The absolute best! Cassie and her team truly care about each pup that stays or trains with them. I feel completely comfortable leaving our two dog with her because I know they are well cared for and treated like family. Puppy classes and boot camp have been a game changer for our young boxer. I truly appreciate Cassie's knowledge and willingness to answer questions when I have an issue I can't solve on my own. Highly recommend Snake River Four Paws for both boarding and training.
Fur Family Cinema is the most wonderful place you could ever ask for. My dog Teddy loves it there. All of the staff is so amazing and love him too. They do special things all the time for the dogs like holiday pictures and birthday parties. I know he is getting the best care and their boarding facility is top notch. I highly recommend them!!!
I am so thankful for Fur Family. They take such great care of my pup. I boarded my pup last week and she was able to play all day and sleep in comfort at night. I can leave and not worry about her. She is safe, looked after, and spoiled during her stay. She also goes to daycare every week. We love it. She comes home tired and will sleep soundly when she gets home. She is a vishla and has lots of energy and she can be destructive, but that behavior has stopped since she started going to Fur Family. I highly recommend Fur Family..."where fun is off the leash."
We love Fur Family. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They greet my pup with a smile every time. Boarding is wonderful. You can be assured your furry friend gets plenty of exercise and play time. The kennels are nice and big and a comfortable cot for your pup to sleep. Not to mention they post photos on their social media so you can watch and see! I highly recommend Fur Family!
What a delightful place to take my dog for self wash. Sadie was not happy with the bath but the results made me happy. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly! I was able to get a tour of the facilities. Hope to be back for daycare. Just visiting the area. Hope to return when I am in the area. 🐾😀🐾 …
Rogue always has such an awesome time with her FFC humans and dog friends. We greatly appreciate this place. Rogue has been there for both Kennel and Daycare services. We do miss the reports and photos FFC did when they first opened. Completely understand how much you all have grown from being so awesome to the furry friends!
Wonderful place. Our dogs spent 4 days there while we attended a wedding out of state. They did an amazing job, our pups looked so happy when we picked them up, and they sent us photos during their stay, above and beyond. We even have a special needs dig who is blind and diabetic, and she came back healthy and happy. These are great people, friendly staff, and very attentive to your pets needs. This is the only place we will be taking our pups when the need arises, worth every penny.
The staff were super friendly and professional. I love the special touches of sending pictures of my pup during his grooming appointment. Great place will definitely be taking my dog back.
The staff is ALWAYS kind and welcoming and excited to see my best boi. The facility is clean and safe and well run and when I say “day care” my boy whines excitedly while spinning circles. He also doesn’t move for the rest of the day. lol
I love taking my baby to Fur Family! She always has such a good time and is exhausted when she comes home! I feel like she is loved and cared for when she goes to daycare, which gives me peace of mind while I’m at work! Highly highly recommend!!
I can't say enough great things about fur family. From Daycare to boarding my dog for a week. I'm so grateful our community has a safe, fun place for our animals. This is my dogs favorite place. Staff is fantastic.
