2 beautiful cocker spaniels in a Victorian home in South Wales

Introduction

My name is Charly, I am a mother of beautiful twin boys and we have 2 cocker spaniels called Hettie and Belle. We are very laid back Dog parents. We moved in to our forever home in February and have been working hard to make this the perfect home. I work in a high school in Cardiff and my husband works in construction. In our spare time we love to go on walks, go to the theater and we love camping. We love to take our dogs everywhere with us but we have quite a few family occasions where we cannot bring the dogs and our old dog sitter lives in Kent. I would love for a family, friends or a couple to come and explore South Wales with the company of our fur babies. Please feel free to bring your own pets with you as our dogs are very friendly and love meeting other animals.

Home & location

Our home is a large 4 bedroom Victorian house with 2 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, a big kitchen, utility room, drive and garden. Bedroom number 1 has a king sized bed and is spacious. Bedroom number 2 has 2 cots in but has plenty of room for an air mattress or camp bed. Bedroom number 3 has a double bed and bedroom number 4 is currently used as a dressing room with a dressing table and mirror but does have room for a blow up bed/ camp bed. The kitchen is where we spend most of our time as it is very large and has a table in it that can sit 6 people comfortably. We have 3 access points to the house, the front door, side door (coming off the drive), and back door (from the back garden). In the garden we have a wood chipped area with some toddler play toys and a paddling pool, there is then a stone circle, grass area and a top concrete bit to overlook the garden. There is lots to do in the area but here are the highlights for us. - Cardiff and cardiff bay - 40 minutes drive - Abergavenny/ brecon beacons - 40 minute drive - 3 waterfalls walk in brecon - 40 minutes - beautiful woodland walks - 5 minute drive - barry island - 50 minutes - town, restaraunt, shops - 5 minute walk You may see some of our kids toys in the pictures, but rest assured it will be tidy.

Both dogs are used to being left during the day, so your day is your own to do what you would like. They need feeding between 6am and 9am I the morning and between 4pm and 6pm in the evening. They need 2 walks a day after they have been fed for roughly 30/45 minutes per walk

I had a lovely warm welcome from Charly and partner, such a down to earth family. Belle and Hettie were fab, we had plenty of walks, playtime in the garden and snoozes on the sofa. Clear communication, everything you need in the kitchen/medical supplies etc, plenty of local amenities and things to do. 20 minutes drive from some of the best mountain walks in the country.

It was an absolute joy getting to pet sit the two happy, affectionate dogs while their owner was away. Charly and her amazing family went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable in their home and had everything we needed to care for the pups. From detailed instructions to emergency contacts, they thought of it all! The dogs were so well-behaved and a pleasure to spend time with. We made sure to give them lots of playtime, walks, and cuddles! It was clear these dogs are very loved. Overall this was such a heart-warming, fun experience for us. Thank you, Charly for your incredible hospitality and for trusting us with your adorable fur babies! We couldn't have asked for sweeter dogs to spend time with. We hope to sit for you again next time you need caring pet sitters.

Chary has a great personality and her family is very friendly. The pup was easy to take care of and we got an awesome opportunity to travel around Wales.

Me and my daughters loved our first sit. Charly and her partner are very friendly and welcoming. We looked after Belle who was, just as described, energetic, gentle, longing for attention and love. Just what we wanted. She was allowed only short walks (due to recovering from a procedure) and loved some exercise in the garden. Charly explained everything in detail in the welcome guide and on our arrival. The house was clean, very spacious and comfortable. Its location allowed us to explore the area: Cardiff, Brecon beacons, Caerphilly castle and Tintern Abbey on the way back home. I would highly recommend this sit and will keep an eye on another dates to meet Hettie and see Belle again.

This was a lovely sit, Charly has a lovely comfortable home and made everything really easy for us. Belle is so sweet and affectionate, although we couldn’t take her for walks due to her recovering from an op she was still well behaved in the house and very cuddly. Thank you Charly for having us!
