Beautiful Home in Dunedin

Introduction

My name is Lindsay Stay. I am married with two children. We have three dogs, 13 chickens and two bunnies. My husband and I both work from home in the health and fitness industry, but our job requires us to travel out of town a few times a year. Plus we travel with our children as much as we possibly can. I’ve always had my mom take care of our dogs but since adding the outside animals (chickens and bunnies) it has just become too much for her. I’d love to have someone who cares about these type of animals to take care of them.

Home & location

We live just a couple miles away from honeymoon Island in Dunedin. We also live just a couple miles away from downtown Dunedin which has a fun night life and lots of cool places to eat and hang out. Downtown Dunedin has a great Friday morning and Saturday morning market. You would be staying in our guest bedroom on the lower level of our home. You would have access to our gym, sauna, library and swimming pool.

Responsibilities

House: Water plants at the front door and the lanai. Trash goes out on Monday evenings. Cans brought back in on Tuesday. Dogs: feed and water at 8a (1.5 scoops in Frenchies and 3 scoops for Weiss) and 4p (1 scoop for Frenchies and 2 scoops for Weiss). Walk dogs once a day. Leashes hang on refrigerator in garage. Yellow goes on Noda (brown Frenchy) and Orange leash goes on Noi (white Frenchy). We clean poop from yard once a day. They run free outside we just have to make sure the gate on the side of the house is secure. On Monday's the lawn is usually mowed, bring dogs in and block dog door as needed to keep them from bothering the crew. Same is true for the pool guy, although he doesn't mind them at times! Bunnies: Check and fill water daily as needed. Gallon jugs are filled at the house and brought to the back. 1/2 cup of bunny food in dish and a handful of hay given each morning. We like to get them out into the fenced area once daily for exercise. They like to be out either in the morning or late afternoons. Return to cage and lock doors. Chickens: are free to range durning the day. Mornings we open the coop gate (make sure all gates of black chain link are closed, and dogs are not in far back yard area with the chickens). I will give one scoop of wormies to them usually off of the deck as they follow you to the feed room. Fill small metal bucket with one scoop grains, and two scoops pellets. Add a scant handful of the granite chips and dump into hanging feeder in chicken run. Check and fill water as needed with same gallon jugs from the house. Water capacity for hanging water is 7 gallons, the water house is 12 gallons and should only need filling once per week. Chickens will find their way back to the coop each night. When certain all 13 chickens are in, close and lock chicken run door. You may need to call them in with a treat of once scoop of wormies.

What a treat to be able to stay at Lindsay’s! Noda and Weiss are the best dogs; they were my buddies throughout the stay. Shadow and the kittens were so much fun. Taking care of chickens and pigs was a first for me, but they were easy and delight. Lindsay was extremely communicative and easy to get in touch with when needed. The house has anything and everything you could want or need! And I particularly loved having access to the pool and sauna. I would happily stay here again and take care of these sweet animals!

Tony and Lindsay are hospitable and clear in communications. Their home is very comfortable and in a good walking neighborhood. Access to the fitness room and pool were an extra treat. Weiss is the sweetest, mellow Boxer. Noda is a bundle of energy, always nearby and loves belly rubs. Shadow lives up to his name, coming ,going and hiding during nap time. The farm animals were entertaining and very productive! Eggs daily. Car is needed, but you won’t want to go anywhere!

Incredible family, home and pets. We felt so welcome and immediately fell in love with Weiss, Noda & Shadow - each with their own sweet personality. Oh - and the new turtle "no name" who we were glad to see each day jump into the tank as we entered the room. We also enjoyed the pigs and the chickens. Their house is beautiful and located in a great neighborhood. We enjoyed walks with Weiss and Noda around their beautiful neighborhood and loved the quick drive to the beach. We look forward to returning as we are missing them all already.

This pet/house sit for The Stay Family was BEYOND 5 STARS!!!! The Stay Family is inspiring and so is the pet family. Sitting for Noda 3y/o love bug pug and Weiss the 9y/o Boxer mix , Shadow the weeks old rescue kitty ( oh fer cute) their 30 chickens and 10 piglets was a dream sit. All of the animals were really easy to take care of!!! A lot of FUN too! The Stays were gracious and organized hosts. Leaving specific instructions for everything and meeting us for an informative walk through the day before they left. They also invited us to spend the night before they left It was tempting but we chose to camp near Honeymoon Island to catch a Gulf Coast sunset. Their home is just beautiful and comfortable and I loved using the well equipped workout room, infrared sauna and pool. We loved walking the dogs in the beautiful neighborhood of Dunedin. Feeding the chickens and the piglets was a hoot! We also scored fresh egg scrambles many mornings. We weee able to explore this outstanding Gulf Coast city, riding bicycles on The Pinellas Trail, took a 15 minute ferry ride to Caledisi Island; voted #1 ecological beach in America and went to the farmers market in Downtown Dunedin and ate out once at a great fresh and upbeat Mexican restaurant Casa Tina. The Stays were considerate and actually found housing for the new kitty with a neighbor for our first few days. Shadow was dropped off with us on our last day and we wish we would have had her the entire stay. I could go on and on with nothing but accolades for this sit but be assured if you get to sit here consider yourself blessed. Thank you STAY FAMILY<3 Gratefully, Lola & Matt ( I hope we meet again)

Lindsay & Tony were great hosts! They called me ahead and did a video chat to show me the routine with the farm animals. The dogs are very chill and friendly. Noda is the friendlier dog and he will follow you and hang out, a great little buddy! The Stay home, really makes you want to "Stay"! Their home is absolutely stunning and has great amenities. I went to the charming quaint town of Dunedin for dinner and drinks at a few of the many great craft breweries. I also spent the day at the beach at Honeymoon Island State beach and went to downtown St.Pete's to catch a great funk band. It's a great area and a lovely getaway staying at a lovely, unique home. I would highly recommend sitting for the Stay Family!
