2-6 August in France/Switzerland!
Introduction
I live in a small French village, across the border from Geneva, at the base of the Jura mountains. I live in a great position - the Jura mountains are right on my doorstep and offer lots of wonderful trail walking through the forest. If you drive up the mountain you'll reach the peak of Col de la Faucille (20 minutes) and Les Rousses (30 minutes), the Cascade des Herissons and plenty of other scenic spots. Chamonix is around 90 minutes away. There are lots of things to do nearby, like the Caillier chocolate factory, wonderful Gruyere , and picturesque Annecy (the "little Venice" of France). Gex is well connected with public transport that can take you into Geneva or to nearby town Divonne Les Bains which has a popular swimming pool and cute Sunday market. The nearest shops in Gex are 5 minutes drive or 10 minutes walk, including local French bistros, a great wine bar, pizzeria and beer cafe.

Three bedroom modern house with fast wifi in Gex, 30 minutes outside Geneva. There is a bus 10 minutes walk away that takes you straight into the city, and locally there is a terrific boulangerie and five or six good French bistros and bars. Three big supermarkets within walking distance. Lots of little day trips are possible- Gruyere, Mijoux, Annecy, Evian, Montreux. The Jura mountains are just 15-20 minutes drive - great for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. On Saturday mornings there is a lovely fresh food market in the streets of Gex where you can buy local produce. Local swimming pools in Gex and the nearby pictureque town of Divonne Les Bains which also has great restaurants, a casino (if that's your thing), a lovely lake and great walking and running trails in the hills.

You'll need to feed Grimth, Lady Agapantha Teaspoon, Arancia, Puck and Pollux throughout the day, keep their litter fresh, make sure they have water, throw the occasional toy mouse around, and provide door service when they decide they want to go out and come back in and then go out and then come back in again. Grimth and the Lady not super active as they are senior pussins now (aged 16 and 20) so there is a LOT of sleeping during the day. Puck and Pollux are energetic kittens who love to spend time outdoors and come in for cuddles and food. Arancia is 12 years and very timid - she loves to be outside in the garden but will spend most of her time upstairs under the bed. There will be some light watering needed for the garden and indoor plants. This is basically a very relaxed gig in a house that has direct access to Geneva and France and forest walking trails practically at the front door.

Felicity's home is so charming and beautiful. And the view is absolutely breathtaking. During this colder time of the year we thoroughly enjoyed staying near the warm cozy fireplace along with Felicity's adorable cats Grimth and Fatpuss. They grew on us and we spent a lot of time at home together. They are very friendly—attached at times, but also like their own space. The neighborhood is absolutely peaceful. It is perfect for a quiet stay near Geneva and with excellent connections to the city life. Felicity's home is in Gex, a quiet town with a cute bakery, small grocery store, a coffee shop, and lovely walking paths. Not far on the way to Geneva there are big supermarkets like Carrefour and Lidl which is perfect. Restaurants are also nearby in Gex and the surrounding villages, offering a culinary contrast to the hills behind Gex and the Swiss Alps in the distance. Felicity was amazing to communicate with. She explained everything in detail and and provided us an extensive welcome guide. We had very nice conversations and really enjoyed meeting her the day before she left. We really enjoyed looking after Fatpuss & Grimth. They are lovely and both have very distinctive personalities. Fatpuss enjoys company when he feels like it and likes to spend the rest of the time napping in different places. Grimth on the other hand is such a foodie and wants to be involved in whatever is cooking 😁 Both boys are easy care as they are very independent and like to follow their routine which makes them happy. This gave us the opportunity to do a bit of exploring around the amazing area that Felicity lives in. Felicity’s home is spacious and comfortable located in a beautiful, hilly part of France, around 20 minutes drive to Switzerland and lots of great food and sights nearby. Felicity is also very welcoming and even gave us a ride to the airport early in the morning. We’d highly recommend this housesit and hope we have a chance to look after Fatpuss & Grimth in the future again. Thank you ❤️

I had a great time at Felicity’s! She offered to pick me up from the airport which was amazing as I’m not well versed in public transport being from Texas. I was doing a solo sit to celebrate my birthday and this was such a zen pet sit all around. Felicity made sure to make me feel right at home by taking me around for groceries, lending me her car for the stay and even enjoyed my early birthday fruit tart 🎂 together by the fireplace the night before she had to leave. And Fatpuss and Grimth were just sweethearts to be around with and care for. They gave me company when I just relaxed in and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings the house is set in. Fatpuss made me feel even more special for giving me cuddles by sitting in my lap on my bday! (I hear that is very rare for him) that was the highlight of my trip tbh 😂 I would highly recommend this petsit if you’re looking for a zen time. I enjoyed spending most days at the house just cooking up a meal and sitting by the fireplace and the kitties.

Michele is a wonderful soul and a kind spirit who immediately won over my two boys. They were relaxed and happy in her care, even the one who doesn't like people and will hide in cupboards to avoid strangers. The house was beautifully clean when I got home and there was a meal waiting for me in the fridge. I especially loved the flowers she left and the adorable hand-made card with my cats on it!
