2-6 August in France/Switzerland!
Introduction
I live in a small French village, across the border from Geneva, at the base of the Jura mountains. I live in a great position - the Jura mountains are right on my doorstep and offer lots of wonderful trail walking through the forest. If you drive up the mountain you'll reach the peak of Col de la Faucille (20 minutes) and Les Rousses (30 minutes), the Cascade des Herissons and plenty of other scenic spots. Chamonix is around 90 minutes away. There are lots of things to do nearby, like the Caillier chocolate factory, wonderful Gruyere , and picturesque Annecy (the "little Venice" of France). Gex is well connected with public transport that can take you into Geneva or to nearby town Divonne Les Bains which has a popular swimming pool and cute Sunday market. The nearest shops in Gex are 5 minutes drive or 10 minutes walk, including local French bistros, a great wine bar, pizzeria and beer cafe.

Three bedroom modern house with fast wifi in Gex, 30 minutes outside Geneva. There is a bus 10 minutes walk away that takes you straight into the city, and locally there is a terrific boulangerie and five or six good French bistros and bars. Three big supermarkets within walking distance. Lots of little day trips are possible- Gruyere, Mijoux, Annecy, Evian, Montreux. The Jura mountains are just 15-20 minutes drive - great for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. On Saturday mornings there is a lovely fresh food market in the streets of Gex where you can buy local produce. Local swimming pools in Gex and the nearby pictureque town of Divonne Les Bains which also has great restaurants, a casino (if that's your thing), a lovely lake and great walking and running trails in the hills.

You'll need to feed Grimth, Lady Agapantha Teaspoon, Arancia, Puck and Pollux throughout the day, keep their litter fresh, make sure they have water, throw the occasional toy mouse around, and provide door service when they decide they want to go out and come back in and then go out and then come back in again. Grimth and the Lady not super active as they are senior pussins now (aged 16 and 20) so there is a LOT of sleeping during the day. Puck and Pollux are energetic kittens who love to spend time outdoors and come in for cuddles and food. Arancia is 12 years and very timid - she loves to be outside in the garden but will spend most of her time upstairs under the bed. There will be some light watering needed for the garden and indoor plants. This is basically a very relaxed gig in a house that has direct access to Geneva and France and forest walking trails practically at the front door.

I can absolutely recommend Felicity's home and cats. It's a really relaxing space, with some good hiking trails and great views of Mont Blanc nearby. Grimth, Fatpuss and Caddie are absolutely no problem whatsoever to look after (as well as interloper Black Pearl). Felicity left me lots of useful instructions, and was always available to chat about anything I wasn't sure about - thanks for everything!

We had a great time looking after Felicity's home and three cats. They are some of the loveliest cats and they're very easy to look after, especially Fatpuss who's very content with lots of chin rubs and treats. Felicity was very hospitable when we arrived, picking us up from the bus station and making us feel at home. We found the town of Gex to be a lovely place to base ourselves for a few days, surrounded by the Jura mountains and with easy access to Geneva. We would happily do another house sit for Felicity and her cats.

What a dream sit it was ! Felicity is such a wonderful host. She is warm hearted, communicative and easy going, yes, a dream host she is ! She made us feel very welcome straight away. Before leaving, Felicity gave us all the information we needed for looking after the house and the senior kitties.. Her house is located in Gex, on the French side of Geneva. It’s in a great location, near all amenities and great places to visit. It’s bright, comfortable and quite peaceful. Plus it has a stunning view over the mountains ! The sunny garden is easy to take care : just some watering. Now the most important part of the sit : The pussins! Felicity is the proud and protective mama of three senior cats called pussins. They have all different personalities : Caddie is the most affectionate, Fatpuss is the most talkative and Grimth is the most timid. He even became more timid after a failed attempt to comb his long hair! But they are all so adorable ! We thoroughly enjoyed our time looking after them and sharing our meals with Caddie. Thank you Felicity and the pussins for the fantastic stay ! We hope we can return in the future. Highly recommended

In all my six years of over 20 housesits… this was probably the most relaxed. Felicity was fantastic and her three companions radiate such unique personalities - it was impossible not to come under their spells… i spent my week exploring the many many pathways up into the Jura mountains right from Felicity’s doorstep! It was paradise!

I was very happy to be chosen for this sit as it perfectly followed another short sit just 10 minutes away and therefore had a few weeks extra to explore the region and of course Geneva. I had a wonderful time sitting for Felicity and her 3 cats Fatpuss, Grimth and Caddie. She had a manual with all the necessary info which she sent me a couple of days before the sit. She was in between jobs and has a beautiful home in Bretigny, on the French side of the border with Geneva, a house which stayed very cool during the heatwave. She and Wilfried prepared a delicious meal and I took them to the airport the next morning. Because of the high temperatures I didn't want to go out, but on the days that it was a bit cooler, I went off to visit the lake of Annecy (which was a childhood holiday destination that didn't go through) and the city of beautiful Geneva 3 times. I spent the rest of the time watching Netflix in the company of the cats which were so lovable. I had a weak spot for Caddie. She didn't let the guys intimidate her, but evenso I didn't fill her tray of food till after she came in the kitchen. The guys behaved themselves and sought out the best places to sleep :-) I left food and water for the hedgehogs, but didn't see them. Though the following morning the food was all gone. Felicity, I hope your job at WWF will be what you expect of it and hope to get a call whenever you have to travel for work!

Michele is a wonderful soul and a kind spirit who immediately won over my two boys. They were relaxed and happy in her care, even the one who doesn't like people and will hide in cupboards to avoid strangers. The house was beautifully clean when I got home and there was a meal waiting for me in the fridge. I especially loved the flowers she left and the adorable hand-made card with my cats on it!
