A characterful home with two affectionate dogs awaits you.
Introduction
Hello, We are Serena and dogs, Tim and Sasha. I am hoping to find some special Housesitters who will make looking after Tim and Sasha their first priority, and provide them with kindness and understanding. In return we offer a warm, welcoming home, where you would enjoy a large, modern kitchen, a comfortable sitting room, a light and airy garden room, and a large double bedroom with views over the garden. And, of course, there will be tummies to be rubbed and many doggie licks to enjoy. Tim and Sasha will show you their favourite walks and teach you how to play Pooh sticks in the stream. And then you can watch your favourite TV shows snuggled up together on the sofa. The garden will just start looking lovely, with vegetable seedling already on the go. Enthusiastic gardeners would be welcome to help or just potter around. Although we are in the country there are many towns and attractions nearby, and a pub and shop in the village. You will need a car. Unfortunately this sit is not suitable for children. We look forward to hearing from you.

We live in Kent, the Garden of England. The house was built in the 1500s with various additions. It is well maintained and generally trouble free. It has 5 bedrooms, it has character, lots of space to move around, central heating and a dog room. It has a cesspool. The outside area is our favourite, with a huge inglenook fireplace and patio, water and electricity. The large allotment grows all our fruit and vegetable (feel free to share). We love our flowers and garden. Our neighbours are friendly and helpful. We are one mile from the village with shop and pub, 4 miles from a small town and 8 miles from a larger town, trains and shops. You will need a car.

What incredible people are Vic and Serena, and their home and property are magnificent. After a tour of the property by Serena, Vic served a beautiful meal with all produce sourced from their garden. Thorough instructions were provided in a manual, so no surprises. Then there was Tim ... what an amazing dog. Follows you around everywhere, and if you can’t find him, look between your feet! Also took him to the beach where he chased stones out into the ocean, then body surfed back to shore. Explored the area with Tim, and generally had a most relaxing and enjoyable break from the frenetic pace of London.

We had the most wonderful time house and pet sitting for Serena and Vic. They were incredibly welcoming, and we were touched by their kindness towards our entire family (we brought along our three year old and six month old), as well as their generosity and patience with us. Communication was fantastic throughout, and the night of our arrival and before our departure they prepared us delicious meals which were lovely opportunities to find out more about our hosts. Sadly for our sit, Tim the Labrador was on holiday with Vic and Serena, as we would have loved to have some more time with him (never have I met a better behaved dog!), but we very much enjoyed our visits to the sheep, headed up by Valentino the ram. We also had the pleasure of daily watering of their beautiful garden. The house and grounds are very special and we are so grateful for the opportunity that we had to stay there. We really felt as though we had become friends and found it difficult to leave at the end. Anyone who has a sit here is very fortunate.

Wow! Should probably keep this one a secret. We’ve had a wonderful experience sitting for Serena and Vic. First and foremost they are the most welcoming of hosts, spending time with us both before and after the sit. They were so kind in how they looked after us and really great company. Communication throughout was great and the welcome pack comprehensive. Tim was beautifully behaved, so gentle, and yet still loads of fun. He happily led us round the grounds of Serena and Vic’s land and loved being with us all day. We threw the ball for him, laughed as he hurled himself into his outside bath to cool off, and cosied up on the sofa with him at the end of the day. Our sit was in the summer so looking after the sheep just really involved counting them, checking on their health and making sure they had enough water. Other than that just giving Valentino the ram a good scratch when he came to say hello. There was also the added bonus of a horse and foal in a neighbouring field that came to say hello on our walks around the property. The house was very comfortable and the gardens amazing, with the addition of a hot-tub being an added luxury. There are loads of outside spaces where you can sit and relax to look out over the beautiful gardens. Anyone taking on this sit needs to be happy with the responsibility of watering the flowers, fruit and vegetables as per Serena’s instructions. They have put so much time and effort into creating an incredible space. We were rewarded by being able to pick some beautiful salad leaves and berries. Totally recommend this sit!

Highly recommend this sit if you are a keen gardener and love walking! Tim is a joy, and we enjoyed many hikes with him and walks on the property. He is a dream in the car, and absolutely loves Camber Sands! There are walks around the property and footpaths right to the village. The house was delightful, with very comfortable accomodation and Vic and Serena are truly lovely people. The sheep were easy, we checked on them twice a day and made sure they had plenty of water. We were lucky to enjoy a few strawberries and asparagus during our sit. You do need a car, as it is quite rural, but that is the joy of the place!
