A characterful home with two affectionate dogs awaits you.
Introduction
Hello, We are Serena and dogs, Tim and Sasha. I am hoping to find some special Housesitters who will make looking after Tim and Sasha their first priority, and provide them with kindness and understanding. In return we offer a warm, welcoming home, where you would enjoy a large, modern kitchen, a comfortable sitting room, a light and airy garden room, and a large double bedroom with views over the garden. And, of course, there will be tummies to be rubbed and many doggie licks to enjoy. Tim and Sasha will show you their favourite walks and teach you how to play Pooh sticks in the stream. And then you can watch your favourite TV shows snuggled up together on the sofa. The garden will just start looking lovely, with vegetable seedling already on the go. Enthusiastic gardeners would be welcome to help or just potter around. Although we are in the country there are many towns and attractions nearby, and a pub and shop in the village. You will need a car. Unfortunately this sit is not suitable for children. We look forward to hearing from you.

We live in Kent, the Garden of England. The house was built in the 1500s with various additions. It is well maintained and generally trouble free. It has 5 bedrooms, it has character, lots of space to move around, central heating and a dog room. It has a cesspool. The outside area is our favourite, with a huge inglenook fireplace and patio, water and electricity. The large allotment grows all our fruit and vegetable (feel free to share). We love our flowers and garden. Our neighbours are friendly and helpful. We are one mile from the village with shop and pub, 4 miles from a small town and 8 miles from a larger town, trains and shops. You will need a car.

We had a lovely stay at Vic and Serena’s looking after Tim, the sheep and the chickens. The communication before the sit was excellent and we got the welcome guide well ahead of time. Vic and Serena are lovely hosts and they made us feel very welcome. They had prepared a nice meal for us when we got there and we really enjoyed getting to know them. Tim is a sweet and very well behaved dog and it was very nice going for walks with him around the grounds also saying hello to Valentino the bram at the same time. Tenterden is a very nice little town with everything you need. We had an amazing sit in Vic and Serena’s comfortable and cosy house. Thank you for letting us get to know you and your fur and feather babies. We would love to come back soon!

Where do we begin? Fiona and I were lucky enough to experience a six week sit at Serena and Vic's. Tim, Ben and Max are three of the loveliest, best trained and entertaining dogs we have ever had the pleasure of caring for. This was our first experience caring for sheep, a task Vic and Serena made us feel most comfortable with before they left. The chickens were easy to care for and always gave an enthusiastic greeting. We looked forward to our morning ritual of letting the chickens out, feeding the sheep and walking the beautiful property with the three boys. The Kent sun rises and sunsets are beautiful , ranging from misty and moody to bright, bold and dramatic . As we were there in the late fall the gardens needed little care but still provided us with a bounty of delicious organic produce. The home itself is warm and welcoming with every convenience one could ask for we particularly enjoyed Serenas amazing kitchen which was an inspiring well equipped place to prepare our meals. The bedroom provided had lots of space for us to unpack and move in, a very comfy bed, an en-suite bathroom and stunning view. While one definitely needs a car the location is convenient to a wide range of food and shopping options, several wonderful old English pubs and is a great base to explore so much of beautiful historic Kent. Serena and Vic are the best kind of home owners you could hope for, upon our arrival they provided us with a lovely warm welcome, a beautiful meal and walked us through all the details of the sit until we completely comfortable and felt very much at home. Communication before and during the sit was excellent, and Serenas welcome guide was through, containing all the information needed The most difficult part of the sit was leaving the boys and this special place that our inspiring new friends Vic and Serena have created. This is a truly lovely sit that we look forward to returning to and would highly recommend.

I was very comfortable living in at Serena and Vic's beautiful home. The dogs were very easy to look after and I enjoyed the fabulous walks during the day. The chickens and sheep were also a fun adventure. There was one sheep that got quite ill, but thanks to Serena's great communication, the vet was able to fix him up successfully. I was previously intimidated by caring for sheep, but it wasn't hard at all. I learned to trust my judgement. I completely recommend staying on their amazing property. I hope to be back there soon.

Thank you to you both for making me feel so welcome in your home. The welcome guide was really good and comprehensive which made looking after the animals and settling in around the house very easy. I love Max, Ben and Timmy who were great company and it was great to be able to walk around the acres with them and have the opportunity to pick the first blackberries of the season! Totally and highly recommended as a wonderful place to do a housesit - many thanks again. Kind regards, Jon.
