Stunning Cornish location, with 2 easy cats to look after.
Introduction
Beautiful house in Falmouth, Cornwall with just two cats look after! Hi, we are husband and wife living in a beautiful area of Cornwall. Falmouth is on the coast with beaches in 15 minutes walk. We are very house proud and we are just finishing restoring this house. We prefer couples.

The house is situated in the centre of Falmouth, with Penmere Station 4 minutes' walk away which goes to Truro which connects to the mainline to London. The town is a 10-minute walk away, but it is uphill on the way back! We are also well connected by buses and boats to local places of interest. The house is a 1930's architect designed 3 bed home, although we have converted one to an office. We have lovely gardens surrounding the house and evening sun in the back garden.

The cats are quite sociable and Smithy is known as a "legend" by most of our sitters, he loves the outside! Betsy is quite old and needs liquid drugs on a bit of chicken twice a day. They both love a fuss and curling up in front of the logburner!

Teresa and Mark made us feel really welcome and comfortable in their beautiful home. We were welcomed with tea and delicious homemade teabread, and were then walked through the evening routine of feeding chickens, ducks and putting the goats to bed. There is quite a lot to attend to with the greenhouse, cold frame and lots of outdoor pots to water, but it was very satisfying seeing Teresa's carefully tended seedlings sprout up over the 9 days we were in charge 😊. The cats routine followed the other animals and we were shown how to give Gizzy and Betsy their medicine. We were treated to a delicious meal, Teresa is an exceptional cook, and to a taste of Master Brewer Mark's, homebrew, which is very morish! The next morning we were shown the morning routine and the the hosts were off for their well earned break. Teresa and Mark's home is extremely well equipped and we wanted for nothing. They left comprehensive instructions whuch were a great prompt until we got into the swing of things. Fresh poached duck eggs everyday became a bit of a habit. 🦆. Teresa and Mark were available via Whats app if we had any questions and we were able to give them updates on the animals. The ducks are very elegant especially the drake and were always happy to see us in the mornings and the evenings, as were the hens. The hens seemed to like being picked up and stroked. 🤗They were really friendly. The goats are all very distinct characters, Sausage particularly just loving being brushed. Betsy and Gizzy were quite reserved, as elderly cats they spent a lot of time sleeping. We think they missed their mum! Smithy is very interested in everything and affectionate in his own way. Another real character who was as happy playing with ribbons on the scratching post as terrorising small furry things outside! We learnt a lot from Teresa and Mark. We would definitely recommend sitting for them and their menagerie.👍👍

What can I say - I was made to feel so welcome by Teresa and Mark immediately, cooked a lovely meal and made sure I had everything I needed. The animals are great (particularly Smithy who I actually fell in love with!). The goats, ducks and chickens give the best morning 'hello' everyday and the location is perfect for exploring the wild side of Cornwall. This is definitely the ideal sit for people who love getting stuck in, being a bit wild and dirty (at times) and like to really get to know the quirky ways of different animals. A really lovely sit! :)

Teresa and Mark are warm, friendly, generous hosts. We had a delicious meal on our arrival and time to see all the animal routines before they left. Their home is a mix of the old and the modern - stone walls, cosy fires with a lovely kitchen/diner and a practical boot room! Also, very clean and tidy. There are fabulous views across the countryside and easy access to many places, walks and beaches. We recommend a trip to The Lizard, Falmouth for great shopping/food and the Seal sanctuary at Gweek. We found the animals easy to care for with good instructions and insight from Theresa and Mark. We hadn't done goats before but "the girls" are very sweet and love you when you have food! The three cats are all very sweet, Betsy and Gizzy were a little shy but made appearances at different points and warmed to us during the week. Smithy is younger and likes company. He is also a very accomplished mouser, so be prepared to pick up some "leftovers" and possibly catch a live mouse or two! We would recommend this sit and would be happy to sit another time. Thanks Teresa and Mark for being great hosts.

There really are no words to express the heartwarming honor and privilege we feel each time we are invited into someone's home and treated like old friends. Teresa and Mark are exceptional hosts who made us feel extremely welcome. Despite arriving on a very wet, cold and windy evening the warm welcome and fabulous meal more than made up for it! Arriving the day before they left was definitely key as we were able to walk through all the animal routines so we could hit the ground running after they departed. It's a bit hard to say who were the stars of the show as all the animals brought their own uniqueness to the experience. The kitties were all very timid but they gradually warmed up to us by the end of the week and so they did enjoy a bit of affection and Smithy even enjoyed a cuddle or two. Gizzy bless her is deaf so she startles very easily but as our own cat is also deaf we were well versed in approaching slowly and from the side to ease her stress levels. Gizzy and Betsy are on medication but it was super easy to give them and we had no problems at all. The goats are hilarious and so affectionate and we really enjoyed walking them down to the bottom field and then racing back to the top field in the evening as they couldn't wait to get their supper! The sheep were actually new arrivals and were quite skittish but they adjusted well and settled more and more each day and actually got really excited to see us each day....or maybe it was the food!? The ducks were an absolute hoot, especially after you had refreshed their paddling pool, they just loved the water and the hens laid the best eggs! The house is beautiful as too are the gardens although it is remote so a car is essential but it's only a 20min drive to the coast in either direction so a wonderful location to explore the amazing Cornish coastline! This has to be one the best house sits ever so if you love animals and the outdoor life then it really doesn't get any better than this!

Teresa and Mark were very welcoming hosts! We enjoyed spending time with them to learn the ropes with the animals’ routine and to share their knowledge about Cornwall. The property is amazing, with views of green fields, horses, cows, just beautiful country. Located in the heart of Cornwall, it is 15-30 minutes to both coasts and wherever we wanted to explore. The morning and evening routine with the animals was a lot of fun and we looked forward to it every day! The four goats were very friendly, coming up close for pets, treats, and brushing. Each day we had fresh eggs from the chickens and the ducks kept us entertained running around always together. The cats were very easy going. Smithy is the playful kitten and the most curious about what were up to in the house. Betsy told us when it was feeding time and Gizzy was perfectly happy to sleep. We look forward to visiting Teresa and Mark the next time we’re in the UK!
