Housesitter in Connecticut Countryside - Great Hiking Nearby!

Hi there! We are a young professional couple who own a nice house in a beautiful, rural area of northwest Connecticut, and need someone to occasionally stay here when we travel. All you have to do is feed & let our dog outside. It's a peaceful home and our dogs are very mellow and well behaved. If you like the outdoors there are tons of outdoor attractions nearby: beautiful hiking trails year-round, lakes to swim during the summer, cross-country skiing in the winter, and it's a 1.5 hr train ride from New York City. We have a four bedroom 1500 sq. ft. house that sits on ten acres in the countryside. We have beautiful gardens and you can go for hikes in the woods behind our house (or lots of nature preserves/hiking areas around where we live). Our house is simple and clean, with fun technology our guests can enjoy - we have a large screen TV with Netflix/Amazon prime, super fast WIFI, a home theatre (10' projection screen) in the living room, etc. We have Playstation 4 and ipad available for you to use. You will have a private guestroom and will have your own bathroom ready for you when you arrive.

We have one very friendly, super easy to care for dog (feed them once a day, let them outside and you're good!). Other than that, there is nothing else to do but enjoy our peaceful home. If you can water the plants once a week that would be nice:)

Greg and Leah’s place was a lovely respite in the Connecticut countryside. Greg was communicative, kind and left very easy to follow instructions that enabled me to keep their home clean. The fish were entertaining to observe but the stars of my stay were Willy and Switch. They were wonderful, sweet companions, always at my side. Willy loves to play with his toys, but they both love warmth and affection. Would definitely recommend for nature lovers and would definitely return!

We so enjoyed our very first and then second sit with our fluffy pals Switch and Willie! They are the sweetest dogs who want nothing more than to be with you and be loved :) Beautiful, peaceful, cozy time with these two, who we already miss and hope to see again!

Michelle & Jerry were excellent house guests who are much welcome to return any day in the future. Very responsive, reliable and trustworthy. My dogs (and fish) seemed extremely happy with their companionship during the stay.
