Housesitter in Connecticut Countryside - Great Hiking Nearby!
Introduction
Hi there! We are a young professional couple who own a nice house in a beautiful, rural area of northwest Connecticut, and need someone to occasionally stay here when we travel. All you have to do is feed & let our dog outside. It's a peaceful home and our dogs are very mellow and well behaved. If you like the outdoors there are tons of outdoor attractions nearby: beautiful hiking trails year-round, lakes to swim during the summer, cross-country skiing in the winter, and it's a 1.5 hr train ride from New York City. We have a four bedroom 1500 sq. ft. house that sits on ten acres in the countryside. We have beautiful gardens and you can go for hikes in the woods behind our house (or lots of nature preserves/hiking areas around where we live). Our house is simple and clean, with fun technology our guests can enjoy - we have a large screen TV with Netflix/Amazon prime, super fast WIFI, a home theatre (10' projection screen) in the living room, etc. We have Playstation 4 and ipad available for you to use. You will have a private guestroom and will have your own bathroom ready for you when you arrive.

We have one very friendly, super easy to care for dog (feed them once a day, let them outside and you're good!). Other than that, there is nothing else to do but enjoy our peaceful home. If you can water the plants once a week that would be nice:)

Switch and Willy are as wonderful as described in other reviews - very chill! Switch loves to be close to you and seeks to be at your feet whenever you are seated - very cute! Willy uses his squeaky toy to communicate his joy at being around you - so funny!! Greg and Leah were well prepared for our visit, with every detail identified to ensure we were comfortable and knowledgeable about the dogs, house and location. Their house is very comfortable, with a nice WFH office and a spectacular projection TV set up. They are also located close to several interesting hiking trails. We look forward to a return visit!

I loved sitting for Willie and Switch. What lovely animals and friends! Both dogs are very low maintenance and just awesome dogs. The house is wonderful in such a beautiful area. I would definitely recommend!

A great stay! Greg is super communicative and helpful. Switch and Willie super fluffy, welcoming, and incredibly easy-going dogs. The fish were also chill, and always seemed to always be smiling! The house has everything you'd need for a cozy and relaxing stay. Perfect for a weekend trip from NYC
