I am struggling with naming our top adjective to describe Michael and Jeanne. "Conscientious" will likely be it but then again, "personable," "reliable," "organised," and "animal-loving" are top contenders. If you are reading this review and contemplating inviting this couple to watch your pets, then look no further. We have had a number of excellent house sitters but this pair was next level in terms of the love they showed our cats, Maxx and Nala. When we came back, we could our animals already missed them. These cats, who have never slept with anyone other than us, were getting in bed with them each night -- and that meant climbing stairs! The day before our trip, Nala got an ear infection and had to be put on steroids for asthma. Michael and Jeanne did not sign up for that when the sit was booked but they took it in stride. In the last-minute rush, I relayed that Nala needed her oral steroids morning and night. Michael read the RX label, indicating one dose a day, and contacted the vet to clarify. So you can see why "conscientious" is right up there. They saved Nala from an overdose! We were gone three weeks and they sent us just the right amount of pictures and videos. They bought cat toys (I forgot to put ours out!) and actively engaged with them, including 20-minute massages for Maxx. I truly believed them when they said they fell in love with our fur babies. The house was spotless (which was not important to me but truly appreciated) but I smiled when all six water stations in our yard were filled. They took seriously my love for and the needs of the wildlife in our yard. Our plants were all in good condition as well. Sensing they were "next level" when I met them, I predicted they would want to leave a meal for us upon our return. I asked them not to but they found another way to bow out with class. They made a donation to a nonprofit I work with instead. This I learned from the lovely thank you note they left. I hope they will consider Charles and I friends because we certainly feel that way about them now. What special people. If you book them, treat them well because they are going to do that for you for sure.
Stefany helped me out big time by stepping in when I asked. She's a local sitter and I wasnt' having any responses so I contacted her and she fit me into her schedule even during the holidays and right after another sit across the country. She took great care of my two cats and home and I very much appreciate it!
Sharon and Milton are two of the nicest people I've met in my life. This is my first time having a sitter fly in from out of state and it was so simple, stress-free, and didn't affect any part of me getting ready for my trip, leaving for my trip or returning from my trip. Sharon was very communicative before, during and after I returned. It just couldn't have been more wonderful! If you're considering applicants stop looking and choose Sharon and Milton. They are just delightfully wonderful wonderful people!! They go above and beyond just housesitting and pet sitting! Tidy, clean, respectful down to earth and the most kind and loving people. I do believe Milton really is a cat whisper!! They slept with my sweet babies, and even followed silly grooming instruction on one of my cats. Would have them sit for me absolutely anytime.
Paige, David, and family were WONDERFUL sitters for my crew! They were so pleasant and personable, and the pets warmed up to them very quickly. Even my rescue cat who tends to stray away from men loved David. I received regular updates and communication (before and during the sit). I truly did not have any concerns while I was away knowing that everyone had such great care and attention given to them. (I know the dogs had a good time because when I came home there was no commotion over my return.) I was away on NYE and Paige had no issues keeping an eye on one of the dogs who has anxiety surrounding loud noises. The family cleaned up after themselves and may have left the house cleaner than when I left! Truly such a great family who I would welcome back any time!
Ruthee was a fabulous pet sitter for our three cats while we were gone for a month. Prior to the sit, she was consistent and communicative; she even came over early for a meet and greet to learn the routine. During the sit, she took great care of our three cats by playing with them (she made a fun cat toy!), scooping litter, feeding and watering them, and sent us text updates and pictures. We came home to happy fur babies and a clean home. She left the place very tidy which was greatly appreciated! We are so thankful for Ruthee and would recommend her should the opportunity arise. Your fur babies would be lucky to spend time with her. Thank you again for everything, Ruthee!
If you are looking for someone to take care of your fur babies and your house while you're away, Daniel is your guy! I had discovered zeewoi just a couple of weeks before I was to leave on vacation and I was not only apprehensive if the website was too good to be true, but also under a real time crunch. I reached out to over 100 local sitters and several possibilities fell through. I was confident I would find the right sitter and when Daniel applied for the sit and I started to text and converse with him, I knew I had found the perfect sitter for my two cats! Daniel was upbeat and positive, articulate and personable, warm and caring, and he asked all the right questions about Lilly and Eli (I hadn't had the time to complete my Welcome Guide, yet!?!). I shared that I had an easy cat and problem cat -- Lilly, who is sweet, social and eats dry food, and Eli who is skittish, was periodically pooping outside the kitty litter box and was eating prescription canned food twice a day mixed with a probiotic and stool firmer. I asked if he thought he was up for the job and he happily said he was. Since he flew all the was from Chicago, I thought the least my husband and I could do was pick him up at the airport. When he arrived, he pulled out his notebook. He patiently walked with me as I reviewed kitty care, showed him around the house, and where he would be sleeping. He immediately picked up Lilly who was excited about meeting her new friend and Eli bugged out and down the stairs to the basement (his favorite hiding place!). We got Daniel connected to the internet, set him up at our dining room table and headed off to airport, leaving our house and kitties in the best of hands. Daniel wanted to make sure I felt comfortable and assured while we were away. He made sure to text with me every other day (he had asked my preference earlier), sent photos of Lilly being her cute self while Eli hid during the day although he gave me assurances that he was eating his food and using the litter box (there were a few accidents, but Daniel never complained about these additional duties). When we returned from our vacation, the house was also spotless and well cared for and Daniel had even washed the sheets for me! It is with utter happiness and complete confidence that I recommend Daniel as a fantastic Sitter. He is trustworthy, responsible, caring, and competent, and you can rest assured that both your house and sweet pets will be watched over and treated with TLC -- and will truly be in the best of hands while you are away!
Caroline is an amazing sitter ! We were far away, had never left our cat for such a long period of time and we felt really confident with her. She took great care of our cat Honey as well as she did for the house, pool and garden. She was even able to handle the end of the refection of the bathroom which was a last minute surprise… We felt Caroline was reliable and self sufficient. We had a great communication with her during our stay abroad. We even found many nice intentions when we came back from our vacations such as fresh fruits and bakeries for a nice and welcomed breakfast after a night in a plane ! We definitely recommend Caroline for your sittings and we will obviously call her back !
Amazing sitters - I feel so fortunate to have had them stay. Chapeau was treated to daily walks and belly rubs, and my cat Tica was overflowing with contentment from having been taken care of so well. The house was cleaner than I left it and I was treated to a nice note and a lovely candle upon my return. Also, they left a checklist of item that they had done while here. Truly above and beyond!
Caroline was a fabulous sitter and looked after our cat and the house beautifully. She is sensible and very self-sufficient but also kept us informed. We came home to a happy cat and a tidy house. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to others and hope she will sit for us again in the future!
Pennee and Bill were the BEST pet sitters and guests ever! I really wanted them to stay forever ! Our cat, Miss Kitty bonded so much to them, that she really wasn’t that happy to see me when I got home .Our cat is a finicky eater and they tried all different types of food and treats for her. They sent me regular photos of miss kitty and I knew everything was great when most of the pics had miss kitty on their lap. Our cat doesn’t take to many people but she immediately fell in love with them. Pennee sent us our mail and prescription meds on a regular basis , and went out of her way to take care of any issues . They fell in love with the neighbors and community and just made our lives so easy . We experienced the Covid 19 virus outbreak quarantine during this time and Pennee and Bill agreed to stay a month longer at our home . They were extremely flexible with their travel plans so that everyone would be safe. Upon our arrival home, we were greeted with a bouquet of flowers , beautiful hanging basket of flowers for outdoors and a beautiful bottle of wine . And our house had never been cleaner ! Bill and Pennee are a pet owners dream couple !I felt extremely lucky to have found such a great petsitter and new friend . We will be visiting each other in the future .
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home for free at Zeewoi.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least $20 per visit, $60 per overnight watching in your home or $40 for a cat boarding, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Zeewoi.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Zeewoi cat sitters for free, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
Our dogs have never been better cared for in any other establishment across many states. The owner is very organized and helpful. This is the only place for us!
Happy Tails is amazing! I would give it 100 stars. Dr. Dee was absolutely wonderful. We have two special needs pups and she took such great care of them and our pack while my husband and I were on vacation. Highly recommend!!!
Boarded here a few times over the last 2 years. Friendly service and the pup seems to enjoy it. Had them groom my husky, she had gotten pretty badly matted. They did a fantastic job cleaning her up.
This is the best kennel we've found. Love everything about it.
Happy tails is fantastic! We needed to kennel our dogs while our home was being shown. We took all 5 of them for a 2.5 day stay. All 5 came home happy, no illness's . The owner was super friendly, super sweet. Will definetly use her anytime we need kenneling!!!
I wouldn’t consider leaving my dogs anywhere else. It’s always a great sign when I go to pick them up and they are just as excited to see Dee as they are me. I know they are well taken care of and loved and it gives me great peace of mind when I am out of town. Thanks Dee and everyone at Happy Tails!
Great kennel, always had a perfect experience
Ollie is happy here, which eases my mind. 'Love this place!
Leaving your dog somewhere for any extended period of time can be stress inducing for both pet and owner! But Dee (owner) does a great job keeping the dogs happy and worry free while you are gone! My Zia was anxious being left over night but quickly warmed up to Dee and Happy Trails Kennel! :)
Miss Dee at Happy Tails Kennel is honestly the best in and around the greater ABQ area. I have been trying to find a great place to leave my 80lb lab for the last 3 years I have lived here and none of the other kennels compare to hers. I just recently started kenneling my dog here when I travel for work, and I could not be more impressed. Her pricing is reasonable, she doesn't price gouge (like Pet smart, Academy Boarding Kennels, or Canine Country Club) when your pet has a special diet or needs medicine, and the dogs actually get time outside to use the restroom. She truly cares about the animals she takes care of and it definitely shows when you pick up your furry friends. Trust me, if you are looking for someone who will take care of your animals like you do this is the place!
I have been using Ashley's pet care for regular walks for my dogs for the last couple months and highly recommend them! My dogs can be reactive and I have specific instructions for the walkers. I always feel comfortable knowing they are in …
Ashley is extremely reliable and always on time. Our dog Baxter smiles all day after his morning walks. We were so pleased that now my Mom's dog gets twice weekly walks from Ashley's service too…..UPDATE: Ashley has expanded and now has several people working for her! She is very careful about who she hires and trains them thoroughly. She has added an app for scheduling that tracks where they went on their walk and allows the walker to share photos with you. She offers dog sitting too and it’s such a relief to know the pups are in good hands while I’m gone. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
When we got a new puppy, the first thing we did was enlist a helping hand from Ashley's Pawsitive Pet Care! Puppies can only be crated for 3-4 hours until they need a break and Ashley and Piper have helped us since the beginning of May to provide playtime and love to our two beloved pups, Hazel (5 months) and Honey (7 years). We typically schedule our drop in pet care visits each Saturday or Sunday for the week ahead. They can do 30 minute or 1 hour drop in play sessions or walks. They've helped us during busy afternoons when we are unable to come home from the office, and even helped one Saturday so we could get out for a date night. Puppies are a lot of work! But Ashley Pawsitive Pet Care proves you don't have to do it alone. Her business sends pictures for each visit and communicates reliably. Scheduling is easy through the online portal. They even host doggie field trips (2 hours) which we plan to do in the future for our pups. Most importantly, our dogs love them. Our family recommends this pet care business!
Ashley watched my dog nala for a weekend & Nala absolutely loved her. I received daily updates & photos of her. I would highly recommend, if you need a pet sitter. I have also seen her go above & beyond for the residents at my work place for their pets. She is awesome & her love for pets is genuine. I will definitely be using her anytime I need a sitter. Thank you so much again.
I've had nothing but positive interactions with Ashley and her staff at Ashley's Pawsitive Pet Care. I work long shifts as a caregiver, and knowing that Ashley will be by and my puppy will be taken care of has been SO reassuring!! My pup has a BFF at Ashley's, and I can always tell after she's been there because I come home to a veeeeery happy pup! :) Ashley has been flexible and accommodating. There have been times when my schedule has changed drastically, and Ashley has been willing to work with me on that. I get regular updates including SUPER adorable pics so I know the adventure my pup has had that day.
My fur babies and I absolutely LOVE Ashley! She has been walking my fur babies for a few years now she treats all of my fur babies with kindness and loves each one of them! We are truly blessed to have Ashely walk my fur babies she will always be part of our family. We love you Ashley! 🐶❤️🐶 …
Ashley is fantastic! She takes great care of our home & our MANY animals when we need to get away & the peace of mind she provides us is priceless!
They got right back with me and very nice and understand how much our cats mean to us 🐱👍😎 …
Wonderful up and coming small business. Flexible and wonderful.
Aries is a wonderful place for puppies! Everyone there genuinely loves and cares for dogs. Arie is a great trainer and we can't recommend her enough. The 6-week puppy training class is top notch and well worth the very reasonable price. We learned so much about how to train our Golden retriever, Sam, and we feel far more confident than we did going in. The puppy play groups are a great opportunity to socialize during the critical window between 2-4 months old, since all the puppies are vetted to be healthy, have stool tests, and are up to date on vaccinations (what one's they can have for their age). Overall, we love Aries Dogland, our dog LOVES it, and we highly recommend it if you're looking for training, day care, or grooming.
We just finished up our training with our beagle puppy Bilbo and he loved it! You can tell Arie is very knowledgeable and the class was nicely structured with just the right amount of challenge, positivity, and fun! It was also a great opportunity for him to make friends and socialize with other puppies his age. Overall, I would highly recommend Arie’s Dogland for puppy training and am excited to continue looking into other private classes! Thank you Arie!
Arie's is amazing. My new pup and I are attending classes and day care. Arie is incredible, the staff is SO amazing my pup doesn't want to leave! A friend informed me of "much cheaper" places to go. Agreed. However, you totally get what you pay for and I would pay whatever Arie & staff requested. They are that great and my pup is sooo worth that attention & expertise!!! Thank you, team Arie's Dogland!!! 🐾❤️❤️❤️
Highly recommend! My pup Ollie participated in the puppy training course and the doggy daycare and he loved it. The staff is very knowledgeable and truly cares for all the dogs they take care of. Looking forward to their new location!
My wife and I did some research for training and Arie's Dogland came up. Mocha just loved her training. It was a whole family thing. We felt welcomed, easy to learn and ask lots of questions. We are so thrilled we were able to get Mocha though the puppy training class as she is so well behaved and listens to her commands. She is now 9 months and has been fixed and returned to doggie play time which is just absolutely loves it. Miranda grooms Mocha at Aries Dog Land and what I love it that Mocha can play then get groomed and then head back out for some more play time. They have a strict schedule which I think is great. We pack Mocha with her snacks and she always comes home looking fab and happy! I love the shop and Mocha does too. You can shop all your dog needs there too. We will continue to go to Aries Dogs. We highly recommend!
My 3 month old puppy and I were lucky to get a spot in Arie's puppy obedience class. There were 5 other dogs/owners in the class. Arie was wonderful. She strikes the right balance of being understanding/kind (with humans and dogs) and demanding. For example, there is a very small window of time where puppies can be socialized (given lots of real-world experiences) to prevent future issues. Arie made us keep a log of where we were taking our puppy so we could track it. She understood if we had a week with no/few entries, but didn't hold back when explaining what a poorly socialized puppy could turn into. Each of the 6 classes had a different focus- each were very useful. We got homework to do in between classes. Arie was always available to answer individual questions. I wish Arie would provide adult obedience classes (like an advanced version of the puppy class). We are considering working with Arie 1-1 to improve our ability to consistently get the result we are asking from our puppy (our fault- not the puppy!). If you want a well behaved dog, I strongly recommend Arie's puppy class! Also- we utilizing Arie's doggy day care and it's the first place we've been where the dogs don't bark like crazy. It's hard to believe they have 30-40 dogs back there because you rarely hear a peep!
We had a fantastic experience with a private session with Arie at our house. She was respectful, gave us tons of tips and advice for both of our pups. We felt like it was well worth our time and money. We look forward to more sessions.
Ari is amazing and kind, she uses easy to understand techniques and is very hands on. She clearly cares very much for every dog that comes through and knows them all personally and knows their personalities like they're her children. 1000% recommend!
I’m a certified professional dog trainer from another organization who was looking for a humane, science based training class for my chihuahua puppy, as there wasn’t space available in the one at my org. I’m so glad that Arie had a spot for us in her class because it was great for us and our little gal! As a fellow trainer I can say that everything was done carefully and thoughtfully, with emphasis on helping our dogs to gain confidence and skills using reward based training that will serve them for the rest of their lives. Arie also made sure class was safe for the puppies- everyone was vetted and the facility was sparkling for every class. Highly recommend!
I adopted my dog a few months ago and though she had some anxiety, we were able to go on two 30 min walks every day! But after a series of walks with very loud bus/truck noises triggering her, she wouldn’t leave the house (not even to go to the bathroom). After a few weeks of trying to get her back outside on my own, I decided to enlist Arie’s help. I wanted a fear free and positive reenforcement training regimen for my dog and that’s exactly what I got! After 1.5 weeks of following Arie’s suggestions, Max was able to go on her first walk today after almost a month (see pic) and had the most intense zoomies afterwards. I’m so grateful to Arie for giving my dog a new lease on life!
We’ve been boarding our two dogs, Bane and Ozzy, at Monte Vista Pet Lodge for quite some time, and we couldn’t be happier with the care they receive. Every time we drop them off, we know they are in great hands. The staff is simply amazing—they’re always friendly, attentive, and genuinely care about the pets. Bane and Ozzy always get plenty of attention and playing time, and it’s clear that they are well-loved while they’re there. It's such a relief knowing that our dogs are not only safe but are also having a blast while we’re away. We highly recommend Monte Vista Pet Lodge to anyone looking for top-notch pet care. It’s truly a fantastic place!
This place is absolutely incredible!! Our lil guy has gone here for almost a year & each experience has been pleasant! The staff is always so amazing & have worked hard to make sure each dog is comfortable! Nothing but good things to stay about this spot!
Monte Vista Pet Lodge is amazing! Cayla and the entire staff are incredibly friendly and genuinely care about the animals they look after. They always go above and beyond to make sure Omar feels comfortable and loved while we’re away. We wouldn’t trust leaving him at any other facility—Monte Vista truly feels like a second home for him. Highly recommend!
Our fur babies come home happy, healthy and exhausted. The daily updates are reassuring, especially since no matter where we vacation they are always on our minds. The incoming reception is warm and heart felt, as well as the release staff letting us know our boys will be missed.
They are super friendly! I love how they send you pictures and a quick report letting you know how your dogs are doing. These are the type of photos you receive. The grooming services are great as well. Both of my dogs were groomed over their stay. They are beat from all the playing.
Monte Vista Pet Lodge has been taking care of my dog while we travel for a few years now. They never disappoint. The staff is amazing and my Syd loves it there. I will continue to use them.
Monte Vista Pet Lodge is our family's go to place for doggie daycare and boarding services for our two canine family members, Oswald and Winky. The staff is friendly and attentive, and when we boarded them for 18 days during our vacation this past summer, they were very well taken care of, and were given the food that we provided for each of them per my instructions. Our pups attend daycare at MVPL at least once every week, and they are always very excited to go. When we pick them up at the end of the day, we receive two happy, tired pooches, and we often get verbal reports on how their day went from the staff. Monte Vista Pet Lodge has been great for our family, and it's nice to support a truly local business in Rio Rancho.
They treated my baby girl like the princess she is 😊. First time daycare was exceptional and every visit after was equally yhe same. Friendly staff, easy client portal and pup loves it. Definitely a keeper for a home away from home for our girl!! …
We were on vacation for a week and during that time our dog went completely blind, and into organ failure due to not eating. The story that I am getting from the facility keeps changing. We are beyond upset. Dropping off a dog who was given a clean bill of health the week prior by her vet (she has dental decay and a heart murmur) and then picking up a dying dog covered in her own vomit is not acceptable. The report card we received from them while we were gone stated she was doing “great”. They didn’t notice she went blind while in their care, nor that she had lost an extreme amount of weight. After getting her home, we made the decision to take her to an emergency vet facility. Due to her condition, the decision was made to put her down to end her suffering. We are devastated. We have used them for our girls for years with no problems until now. I do not believe our girl was treated with malicious intent, but with neglect. How do you not notice a dog has gone completely blind in your care and is starving to death? The manager Cayla, was kind, but the story we have been told has changed multiple times and many excuses have been given. The bottom line is our dog was neglected while in their care and it has resulted in her death. The owner lives in TX but I did speak to him by phone and after a lengthy discussion, he reimbursed us the cost of our dogs stay, and for Daisy’s cremation. He also owns the Zia Pet Hospital which is located right next door. I understand both businesses are currently up for sale. I did reach out inquiring if I could make a grooming appointment for one of our other dogs, as the groomer was wonderful and always did a great job, and is separate from the boarding, but was told no. That’s perfectly understandable, and we scheduled her somewhere else.
my dog Q-bert would write her own review of daycare at Monte Vista Pet Lodge, but she doesn't have thumbs or know how to use a computer, so instead here is a picture of her celebrating a recent birthday with her friends there. I am hoping it accurately conveys her feelings. thank you :^)
Very, very poor customer service. No replies from phone calls, text messages or email. Do not recommend.
Ashley does a great job taking care of our plants when we are out of town. I highly recommend her.
Loved the service I got from them and the Walker I got was super nice and friendly and treated my dog as if it was like their own super happy with them and the service
I can’t say enough good things about Lindsey. I know when she watches my babies they are in excellent hands. She sends pictures of my babies while we are away which is very comforting to see them happy. She’s been very flexible and accommodating with our crazy schedule. I truly never worry when Lindsey is there.
As a veterinarian, I hold very high standards when it comes to entrusting the care of my pets to someone else. I recently had the pleasure of working with Lindsay Topmiller as my pet sitter and dog walker, and I can confidently say she is …
I called Lindsay of Eden Pet Care for help with my dog who had a complex neurosurgery and needed extensive at-home care from an experienced vet tech. I was more than impressed with Lindsay's competence, experience, and caring. My dog needed catheterization at home which Lindsay accomplished with expertise. She's quite knowledgeable about dog health and worked with my veterinarian to assure that my dog who was seriously Ill got the best care possible. Thank you Lindsay for stepping in at the right time and putting my dog back to the path of health and happiness.
I recently found myself without a dog sitter 2 days before I was to go out town. I didn’t know who to call. I saw Lindsey’s ad in a magazine and reached out. She was able to accommodate me and my dogs at the very last minute. I was also pleasantly surprised at how well she kept me informed about my dogs while I was away, even sent me pictures to show me how happy the dogs were in her care! I definitely would recommend Lindsey and Eden Pet Care.
Wonderful experience with Eden pet care. She was in constant communication about my 2 dogs. Including medication, ensuring they ate when they were being picky, play time and lots of cuddling. Took great care of my home as well. Will definitely be using her again.
Lindsay was an incredible help to me in my desire to try fostering or rescuing a pet. With a new pet consultation, she helped me understand my dog’s behavior and provided some sage wisdom on diet, exercise, kenneling, and how to puppy-proof my apartment! Definitely recommend Eden Pet Care’s high level of service for new pet owners or those needing a little pet support!
Eden Pet Care is the best! Words could never describe the compassion, love and care Lindsay has towards pets. She was so sweet to my rescue dog and an absolute professional! I would refer anyone and everyone to her and while I'm in Albuquerque, she will always be my first choice!
Lindsay is amazing! My dog is very skiddish, and she knew exactly what to do to calm her nerves and put her at ease. Her compassion and patience made for an excellent experience. I highly recommend Eden Pet Care!
We cannot say enough good things about Eden Pet care! We have several animals in our house (4 dogs, a rabbit, and a hamster) and the level of service provided was amazing. We were given regular updates and reassured of all of our animals’ well being. We will Absolutely be using this service again and referring others!
Great care for two cats that each have dietary and medical needs (kidney disease and diabetes). Timely updates for each visit and genuine interest in the well-being of the cats. Full confidence, highly recommend.
Karyn is the best petsitter in the biz. I love my dogs and cat more than anything and the thought of leaving them behind when I go on a trip is incredibly daunting. Fortunately, Karyn always knows how to quell my anxiety and provides me with the guarantee that my angels will be safe and well cared for.
Fabulous! Karyn took great care of our very needy cats and our house. Communication was wonderful. Highly recommend her services.
Kathy was an incredible sitter! It can be hard for me to trust people with the care and safety of my extremely beloved fur babies, but I felt confident with Kathy from the moment she showed up to meet them with a list of her own questions to ensure they got the best care possible. She was communicative, very respectful of our space (even cleaned our sheets and folded the load we had in the dryer!) and, most importantly, our babies clearly loved their time with her. We will certainly be reaching out to her again moving forward. THANK YOU, KATHY!!!
Fantastic Dog Sitter! She did a fantastic job with our two pups. One has PTSD and she hung with her and got her to warm up to her. She provided great updates during the stay. She cares about your pups! She is prepared and ready! Highly recommend
Kathy has watched my golden retriever and my cat numerous times. Each time the animals are very well taken care of. My house is always neat and clean, the mail is brought into the house, the fountain is filled, the yard is clean. I can’t say enough good things about her. I’m most impressed that each time Kathy comes my pets are excited to see her and enjoy her company. They love her a lot.
Kathy is wonderful! She keeps in touch daily by sending you videos or pictures if you would like updates on how your dog is doing. She made sure my dog had his meds twice a day. She has watched him over the years and every time I come to pick him up, he is always happy and seems right at home. I trust and highly recommend her.
Our little dog had the best time at Kathy's! The experience was outstanding. During Hoyt's stay pictures and videos were shared dailey. Best place for your pet if you want a loving environment. Kathy is the best! Her home has a peaceful atmosphere. I highly recommend Kathy
Kathy seems to really love what she does and the pets she cares for. She has taken care of my dogs over the last four years including puppies to 18 year old dogs who were on several medications, blind and deaf and I felt very comfortable leaving them under her care in my home. My dogs are also very happy to see her telling me they like her too. I highly recommend Kathy.
Kathy allows us to go on vacation and feel confident that Sparky is being well-cared for. Kathy treats him as if he were her dog. We are so blessed to have found Kathy. She sends photos every day to let us know that he is doing well and and is happy with the care he is being given. Thank you Kathy!
Kathy was amazing. I had never left my two dogs with anyone other than family and I was super nervous. Kathy was so great that I felt like I did leave my babies with family. She had my pups for 5 days and during that time she made sure to keep me posted 1-2 times per day regarding how they were doing. Every time she gave an update my dogs appeared to be happy, playing, or resting. One thing I can't rave more about was her ability to handle two dogs with significant disease states (ie. seizures and eye issues). Both dogs have serious pill/eye drop regimens and Kathy handled it like a champ. One of my biggest fears was that my pup would have a seizure being that he was in unfamiliar territory, but he didn't because Kathy was amazing at making him feel comfortable in her home. I will definitely be using Kathy again in the future.
We had a very positive experience with Kathy! I want to share we were nervous because of 2 prior BAD ones, where my one dog got hurt, including stitches and hospitalization. However, that was the opposite with Kathy. She is very communicative, so much so, it put me at ease right away. Her love for dogs (and their being receptive to it immediately) was so reassuring. We tried a "test" overnighter, before a big 10 day trip, and it was so cute to watch my 2 ~ 60lber babies stop and go give Kathy a goodbye kiss on their own, tails wagging! We left them for 10 days, and every single day we had pictures and happy looking dogs. Usually ~ even under the best circumstances, both our pups are a bit depressed when we return ~ just the long separation, but not this time! We were so impressed, happy, relieved and just blessed to have found her. We have already booked several additional trips ~ Love Kathy! *ps, pics of them snoozing in bed made my heart happy :) If your puppy's need all the love and affection ~ they will find it here .
Kathy cared for our two poodles, second visit for them, they were excited to see Kathy. Our dogs were well cared for and came home happy dogs. Kathy sent us lots of photos and kept us up to date on their activities. I highly recommend Kathy.
We highly recommend The Academy of Canine Excellence for training. We are in their service dog training program and our golden doodle is doing amazing. The things she has learned in such a short time just shows how skilled and knowledgeable the trainers are. We travel a little over three hours one way just to attend training classes.
Excellent organization. Getting a SD was incredibly healing to our family. Per the SD's handler, "they are very good at training, all the trainers are very friendly and gave us good directions on what to do. Very personalized."
All 3 of our server dogs have been trained through the Academy of canine excellence. We have been so impressed with the personal care that we have received, as well as how wonderfully trained our service dogs turned out. We are very pleased with all the services we have received them to anyone looking for good quality training.
I was incredibly happy with my experience with Academy of Canine Excellence! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and was able to provide and train my amazing service dog with me. My life is better for it. They also get great pictures of their service dogs too!
I probably have a unique story - I came to the academy for an evaluation for a service dog puppy prospect & passed. He was really smart and they guided me well in training him. However, we learned he wasn’t the best fit for me. Briaun and Maria handled the whole issue really well, with the best interests of me, the puppy, and us as a team in mind. In the end I sold them the puppy to finish and they sold me a dog dog from their program. And they got it right ! We’re a great match & he’s a great service dog for me. We’re still training, but he’s almost graduated from the program. I’ve worked with other trainers in the city for other non-service dogs. But Maria and Briaun and other staff at the academy are the first and only trainers I trust in Albuquerque. I can’t speak for them, but as an outsider it doesn’t feel like just a business, the academy and their work is a lifestyle, one which they seem to care deeply about and still enjoy and pour into with everything they have. If you’re thinking about working with them, don’t hesitate. (Photo is of the program dog, my current service dog, they sold me working. We’re in a hospital and he’s in a down-stay ignoring all the sounds and movement around him.)
The trainers know exactly what they’re doing and how to get exactly what you need for your service dog. They helped me train my dog Lightning, now she is capable of going anywhere and doing anything. And I believe there’s never about a dog trainers in the state.
Briaun and Jacob are amazing, I came to them after I got scammed by another service dog trainer with a 5 month old puppy. They turned him around. Now he is a year old and absolutely amazing. He doesn’t pull on the leash and consistently alerts to my panic attacks, and asthma unlike my first service dog. He doesn’t do mobility yet because he is a baby but I just use my first service dog for that. He is an absolute lifesaver thanks to Briaun and Jacob. I moved but I will be flying back to do his final service dog evaluation and officially graduate him in about a year to a year and a half time. Thanks guys! I can’t recommend them enough!
My family and I came here to get a chocolate lab for our kiddo. Briaun made sure we found the right fit and right program to support my kiddos disability. Briaun went above and beyond to support my kiddo, my pup, and my family in the community. We are so grateful for this program. It has been life changing. The process is worth every moment of effort you put into it. Briaun and her team are confident, knowledgeable, caring and wonderful advocates. Thanks Briaun!
I honestly cannot say this enough, this team is amazing. Maria is my trainer, and I collaborate regularly with Briaunn. They have been amazing at supporting me through the very difficult training process, they are supporting me through DVR processing, and throughout my journey with training, they have been accommodating and so understanding of my situation. Truly, the validation and support has helped me through a variety of life circumstances over the last six months, AND the progress my dog has made with them is night and day. He is getting ready for tasking, and a board to train to finish his training. His public access has been going really well, and Maria has been amazing working with him on his reactivity. I cannot praise them enough, if you need a dog trained, this is the place to go.
Briaun has taught me how to train my dog to be easy to handle. My dog now helps me in ways I never knew a service dog could. Both Briaun and Jacob have carefully listened to my concerns and have come up with solutions that work. They understand dogs and empower the people who work with them to gently and consistently improve the quality of life of the owner (and the dog!).
