Maryna was an excellent pet sitter and houseguest! Communicating with her was easy, and she always responded to my messages quickly. She was also incredibly self-sufficient! Moreover, Maryna graciously agreed to check on my neighbor's cat for a couple of days as well. My dog bonded with her quickly and was happy and healthy when I returned. The house was also spotless. I would happily have Maryna sit for me again!
Denise was by far the best pet sitter we have ever had! She watched our two pups while we were gone for 3 weeks and took amazing care of our dogs and home. She took the time to ask questions and make sure she understood each dog’s needs as well as how to take the best care of our house before we left. She sent videos everyday updating us on how the pups were doing. We were so happy to see how much quality time she was spending with them and how much they loved her. Our dogs were so sad to see her leave and we can’t wait to have her back. Denise made sure that the house was in perfect condition when she left and treated our home as if it were her own. If you are looking for a pet sitter, look no further. Highly recommend Denise!
This is our second time with Jamie and she’s really a great sitter for our dogs . She’s a trusted person, smart. You can leave her your house and pets. Can’t wait to have Jaimie back next summer
Cristina is simply the best house/pet sitter that we have ever had. She is responsible and dependable and an experienced dog owner. Our Wheaten, Bridie, adores her and misses her when she leaves.
Angela provided complicated medical care for my sick dog for three weeks in Mexico City with the utmost professionalism and kindness Right before Angela’s arrival, my dog was hospitalized and almost died. Angela took care of follow up vets visits, administered eight medicines a day for two weeks, and nursed tico completely back to health I could tell from the photos and videos that she was taking excellent care of him - he was too weak to walk so she made a comfy bed for him in a large bag and carried him a over the city so he could still have fun during his recovery I could not recommend Ángela more. She went so far above and beyond what a pet sitter should do, and she did it all with a caring and capable attitude
Annabella was a fantastic, trustworthy dog sitter for our three pups. She was very responsible and did everything we asked of her and communicated well.
We loved Misty!!!! She was absolutely the most perfect baby sitter for our dog and an amazing short term tenant at our house. Not only did she keep the house clean but she even washed everything she used before we got home. We even got a couple gifts from her. She is such a sweet human, kept in contact with us while we were gone and sent videos of the hikes and walks they went on. I would 100% ask her to stay at our house again
I was fortunate to have Lisa as a sitter for my active, 7-year old lab mix (Ozzy) for a week in Bend. Lisa took the time to meet us via Facetime and in person before her stay. It was apparent she wanted to be well-prepared and aware of any special doggie needs he may have, or any help I needed with watering plants or bringing in mail. She took great care of Ozzy while I was away and sent me regular updates and photos of their outdoor adventures. I returned home to a very happy dog and a house exactly as I had left it. I'd welcome Lisa back anytime!
The two-leggeds and four-legged members of this household give Tess a 5-star rating! We think she's one of the best sitters you will find - highly communicative, friendly, competent, reliable, and great with pets. Tess was also flexible about start and end dates to accomodate possible winter weather complications. For this sit, Tess was able to bring along her mom, Cathy. Tess introduced me to Cathy during one of our Skype conversations prior to the sit. It was a bonus to have her here with Tess. Their travel to Marquette was complicated by weather. A fierce winter storm swept across Michigan just before the sit. It took Tess and Cathy two days to drive here but they arrived, as promised, in time for us to fly out early the next morning. We even had time for a lovely dinner together and to introduce them to the dogs and house. We left the next day and never had a moment's worry while Tess and Cathy were caring for our pets and home. Tess sent us regular updates and photos. The dogs immediately accepted them as great new additions to their pack of friends - even our cranky, old chihuahua, Nike! We returned to happy pets and a spotlessly clean home. We plan to invite Tess (and Cathy if available) to return for future sits. Thank you, Tess and Cathy!
Ranji was a wonderful pet sitter for my dog Zoe and was very easy to communicate with and kept me informed. She took wonderful care of our condo and wouldn’t hesitate to have her in my new home in NJ if she wants to check out a new area.

Molly and her team are wonderful, reliable, and experienced. Not only did my pup have a great time, but I got daily updates with tons of pictures. The Doggie Llama team does boarding, training, and dog walking right. When your pet is left with them you can rest assured that your pet is receiving quality care tailored to their needs and comfort. Their science-based approach to training and care sets them apart from the industry standard and sets my mind at ease knowing that my pet is receiving the highest quality of care.
EDIT: We are coming up on our five year anniversary being with Doggy Lama! Wow time has flown. We do have two new walkers that tag team, Joe (who is our primary walker) and Vero (who provides backup), but all the previous statements in my review are still valid. Joe and Vero are always communicative, respectful, and Warren can't wait to go on adventures with him and his pack. You can tell how much they each love and appreciate their dogs. ---- Our boy Warren, a border collie mix, LOVES his time with Kristen & Michael's packs. They're some of the most exceptional and trustworthy dog walkers we've had. Warren will wait up by the window for Kristen or Michael to come every morning - tail waggin a million miles an hour and whimpering from excitement. It makes me happy to see Warren get to play out on the trails, learn new skills, and socialize with his pals every day. Finding a trustworthy and professional dog walker is not easy. But Molly runs a tight ship, and the team she leads at Doggy Lama shows just how much she cares for and loves animals. If you're looking for pet care that exceeds the standard - I'd highly recommend you reach out to Doggy Lama.
Vanessa is pure gold. She has been walking my sweet husky-pit mix Margaux since she was a year old and forged an incredible bond not only with my pup, but with our whole family. Vanessa comes with heart, soul & leash - in that order. Vanessa adores her canine charges and they feel it. She is also a gifted photographer and I look forward to her pix every time Margaux goes out with her. She has my complete trust and gratitude. Margaux agrees!
I have worked with many dog walkers, dog trainers, and pet care professionals in the past. Doggy Lama Pet Care is a business with a different set of principles. They put positive reinforcement and employee training before profits and scale. A dog's physical and emotional health will always be Doggy Lama Pet Care's top priority. I was fortunate to work with the owner Molly and her dedicated team of employees. Every member of the staff was an absolute professional. I found the team to be incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about dogs. I have two rescue dogs that have their own cute little complexities. I am incredibly confident that any member of Doggy Lama Pet Care's team could properly care for my dogs and exceed my own expectations. I would highly recommend them for both private dog walking and group dog walking services. The team is especially qualified even if you have rescue dogs with complicated or unknown backgrounds.
Doggy Lama is my vote for the best small business in the Bay Area. This is not hyperbole! They are reliable, transparent, informative, and caring. We feel so comfortable with them, and often lean on their guidance and advice for taking care of our dog Rory. Our walker Jeysi feels like a member of the family. Every weekday she reliably arrives at our home, Rory runs to greet her, and off they goes with a pack of 5-7 dogs on a beautiful East Bay trail. A few hours later Rory comes home happy and tired. And then Jeysi sends us a written summary along with beautiful photos and videos from the day. It seems like such a fun pack. We're so, so grateful for Jeysi. Attaching just one pic here. But I have about 8,000,000 others that are equally frame worthy!
I absolutely love Doggy Lama Pet Care!. My dog walker, Sophie, is the best!. Always let's me know when she is arriving and coming home with my 🐶, Grace. Sends pictures of her hiking adventures. 100% Great Review! …
Molly and her team at Doggy Lama are the best! Our dog Toby always returns from his off-leash walks with Jordan having had lots of fun with his pack buds and tuckered out. It’s been a huge relief to know Toby is getting the exercise and stimulation he needs, especially during the work week when we can’t provide that for him to this level. This team is also amazing at communication, from day-of logistics to general awareness of seasonal considerations on the trail.
My dog loves Doggy Lama! She cannot wait for them to pick her up and is always exhausted and happy when they bring her home. She has totally bonded with Vanessa and Merrigold. I appreciate their communication and professionalism. and the photos.
Everyone at Doggy Lama has been so good to my pup, Rosie, since I adopted her over a year ago. Rosie has arthritis so Dorothy takes her to the park to sniff about at her own pace or just lay in the sun. It's clear that she loves her time with Dorothy because she always comes home with a huge smile on her face! Kendrae is super communicative and responsive around scheduling, too. Highly recommended!!
Kasper and I we both LOVE Doggy Lama; obviously for different reasons - Kasper loves the walks, treats and keeping his brain working while practicing recall on every walk. I love it that the Doggy Lama team is super reliable and feels like extended family. After I broke my foot they were able to immediately schedule Kasper for walks every day so I was able to rest. Thank you Team!
I am so pleased with Happy Hound dog boarding services. My mixed breed, fixed pup has been boarded at this facility for 3 to 5 nights at a time since I rescued him in August 2023. I love the staff! So many kind, friendly, competent people. Buddy loves his extended family! He is always so excited to meet and hang out with new friends, and full of energy and happy when we reunite. The rules are very clear, and easy to follow. We appreciate the care given to placing Buddy in the most appropriate hangout group. Love the report cards, photos, and the live Webcam. I value feeling secure about my Bud when I have to be away , and the location makes it so easy to access.
I meant to add some comments to my review that I just posted but I hit the return button too soon! I wanted to say that today I brought Boo Boo, our new dog in for an evaluation and was so impressed with not only the facility, but the staff. All the dogs there were busy and having fun and I will definitely be bringing Boo Boo here when we leave daycare or boarding. Another Happy customer for Happy Hound!
Our pups Cy and Luna love going to Happy Hound for doggy daycare and boarding. The staff are superb and we couldn’t ask for a better team to care for our beloved dogs. We’ve used their training program for both dogs and it is worth every penny spent.
Amazing facility and super friendly and welcoming staff. My dog has moderate to severe separation anxiety, and after just two days of daycare now LOVES going to Happy Hound. The first day, she barked and jumped at the door awhile, and the second day she relaxed and even made a friend! The webcams are such a thoughtful and fun addition to the experience so that the humans can see how much fun their dogs are having. I am so grateful for the attentive staff who assured me and my husband that our fur baby would do well and thrive at daycare. So happy we found this incredible place!
It was very easy to find information online and also call to ensure I understood the requirements and timeline. Once I was able to book the assessment, Sabrina greeted us and was very sweet to my dog! It was our first time ever at a daycare so my dog was very hyped. Sabrina gave me a tour and facilities were very clean and all dogs seemed very happy to be there. Personally love that you can watch the dog spaces live on their website.
Absolutely love Happy Hound! I’ve used them for daycare, boarding, training and grooming. No matter the service, dogs LOVE going there - they get so so excited when we pull in the parking lot. And I love how tired and happy they are when I pick them up :-) highly recommend!
Happy Hound is an exceptional place! Shortly after adopting our dog in 2018 we enrolled him in their 2 week training program and we had great results. Over the years we took our dog to daycare regularly with occasional boarding visits as well. I cannot think of a single complaint, and can only think of the many times their outstanding staff have treated our dog (who has some challenging behavior issues) with great love and care. They went above and beyond and even got us in touch with a vet who could accommodate him knowing he would be a difficult patient. Their work speaks for itself, our dog was always excited to go to daycare. Also how cool is it you can check their webcam to see your pup having a good time? We no longer live in the area but I am writing this review in hopes that their staff read it and feel a sense of pride and accomplishment in their work. They really made our dog's life better and we will always be grateful to them for that.
This spot has always been great for our pooch and their updated facility has plenty of safe, clean space for our 12y/o big guy with two ACL repairs. This was our first time leaving him more than a few days. I was apprehensive leaving him for a week and a half but they were awesome about letting us hold the dates without stress and when he lost a couple pounds within the first few days (apparently very common even if they’re eating well since he’s so accustomed to lazy days and less stimulation) they notified us (via text which was awesome) and asked if they should make any adjustments to his feeding. They even allowed us to ship his normal food there via Amazon to up his portions a bit instead of pressuring us into buying their toppers which would have also been a fair option. Really impressed with this place and their prices are totally reasonable for the great work they do for our fuzzy family members.
Cleopatra our Great Dane spent 3 weeks at Happy Hound for training. She was treated very well and came home in excellent health and spirits. The training is effective and she behaves better now.
My furbaby, myself and my hubby LOVE this place. It became my dog's second home. They have been a homesaver! We rescued a puppy this May, and then suddenly..stay at home dogdad needed to go on a business trip. Happy Hound welcomed our puppy with welcome arms. She made fast friends and is so happy to go there. She gets lots of exercise, stimulation, and safe play time. They have an excellent user friendly client portal that allows you to book boarding, daycare, spa treatments, training and more! We currently are doing a 14 day dream doggie training program. Her graduation is Sunday and we have lovedthe experience so far. We get regular pics, vids, and updates. She looks extremely happy and focused. We were able to get so much done around the house while she was out, and have the comfort of mind knowing that she's in expert loving hands! Would absolutely 💯% recommend this place. My neighbors all know of it and are jealous that we got in! It's a local legend. Best of all.. she knocks out.. sleeping so soundly when she comes back home!
Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with Randy and his team. They were incredibly professional and polite during my first time boarding my dog. Meeting Randy and his staff reassured me that they genuinely care about the dogs and their clients. While I was in Oahu, Hawaii, Randy sent me video updates of my dog, which allowed me to fully enjoy my vacation.
Randy and his staff are wonderful. Are you looking for a boarding facility that treats your dog with love, care, affection, and plenty of playtime? Look no further because The Pack is the place! I know my pup is in great hands with a team that truly cares about my pet. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that, while you’re away, your dog is enjoying their time and having playdates with other furry friends.
We dropped our dog Jackson off at The Pack when I was coming from out of town. Randy worked with me to accommodate my last minute booking and was a huge help. Jackson is a big dog who is reactive with other dogs - Randy handled him confidently and was able to give him care that allowed him his own space. He checked in regularly and made me aware of how Jackson was settling in. By the end of the visit, Jackson had even met and played with Randy’s dog, something we have never seen happen successfully with another dog sitter! Thanks Randy, we will be sure to drop by again!
We brought our dog Juno for boarding and had an amazing experience! Juno has never been boarded and is overall an anxious dog. Randy and his team did an excellent job keeping her comfortable and happy throughout her stay. We will definitely continue to use The Pack for boarding and plan to bring Juno for some daycare since she seemed to have such a lovely time playing with the other dogs and staff. Randy and his team are clearly dedicated to providing affordable and thoughtful dog care services to our community and I fully recommend them to those looking for dog boarding/daycare. :)
Randy and his team are great. They are always accommodating if my travel plans unexpectedly extend. They truly play and interact with the dogs! Cookie is always tail wagging excited when I pull up to drop her off and she goes straight to sleep after I pick her up so I know she has been mentally and physically stimulated during the stay. I highly recommend The Pack for boarding.
Honestly the best experience… I can see the level of trust and the rapport between Randy and my husky Goku…. I’ve been coming to the pack exclusively since Christmas there hasn’t been an incident or Ill experience not once. Randy provides excellent feedback and updates regularly. I appreciate their service provided and trust he and staff completely with Goku. I highly recommend The Pack if you need doggy daycare services or boarding. After 2 years of wonderful service Touré has been an excellent addition to the team at the Pack. He’s take on wonderful care of Goku with my last trip away and upon my return told me gave me a very detailed update. My dog was returned clean most importantly safe without incident and he was very happy. Touré sent me picture updates keeping my mind at ease while we were away. Thank you for your wonderful service!
Randy runs a great operation! He is open and transparent about his business and he is full of love for the dogs. Our pup has been going to daycare once a week and it has been building her confidence and socialization. Randy sends us photos during the day and we can tell she's having the time of her life! Drop off and pick up is easy. We love The Pack!
We love The Pack! We are so grateful to have found this wonderful place. Truly a home away from home for our two Mini Dachshunds. I could tell my boys were well loved and cared for during their stay! The facility is very well laid out with plenty of gates and fences for pet safety. We love that they only crate at night and free roam and socialize during the day. I also appreciate that they are seperated according to size. It's really a perfect place for boarding. Randy and Toure are wonderful care givers for the pups!!
We are so grateful to have found The Pack for our anxious pup! Randy did an amazing job with introductions and easing our dog into the surroundings. He and Touré took great care of our dog during our recent trip. We’ll definitely be using The Pack for future boarding and daycare.
Randy goes above and beyond and makes you feel like you can leave your furry friend at his home with your eyes closed! He has a super straightforward process to get a reservation and he gets out of his way to accommodate your needs and your pup's needs. I left my 1 year and 4 months old Goldendoodle Leo at The Pack for 3 nights and every day I would get a video update of Leo playing and having the best time with his new friends. Randy treated Leo as one of his own dogs and made sure that he was safe, taken care off, and of course having the best time. He even gave Leo a new bed to sleep while he was there. After pick up, Randy found Leo's tag on his play area and offered to mail it to us at no cost. The fact that The Pack reviews are ALL 5 star reviews not only speaks of the quality of service, but of the genuine appreciation us customers have toward Randy and his business. If you are shopping around to board your dog or need day care, The Pack is the best place for them.
Summary: Nice people with good intentions, but missed a HUGE health issue while boarding my pet For a while I was happy with Citizen Canine. They're nice folks who generally care about the dogs. However, the last time I boarded my dogs there, for a period of around 10 days, they missed a huge health issue that popped up with one of them when we were out of the country. During the stay, they contacted me to report that my boy dog wasn't behaving well as he normally did. (Very odd for my sweet fella - red flag #1). They put him into a semi-isolation scenario where he got enrichment with the staff, but didn't get to play with the other dogs, except for his sibling. When I went to pick him up, they reported again that he didn't behave appropriately, and that he stopped being responsive to treats during enrichment with the staff. This was red flag #2. [Anyone who has a clue about handling dogs knows that when a food-responsive dog stops being responsive to food, there could be a serious medical issue]. Then, as they brought my dogs out to me, I was immediately seriously concerned because my boy walked right past me when they brought him out. This was another huge red flag, #3, as I am his person, and he has literally never ignored me. Red flag #4 as we're leaving the lobby is that I notice he's repeatedly sneezing. A few minutes later when I've loaded the dogs into the car and started back home, and I see red flag #5 --- green snot pouring out his nose. And I mean "pouring." We get home --- about a 45 minute drive --- and he starts throwing up. At first I'm concerned that maybe he had an allergic reaction to the scented spray they put on him without my prior consent (I had requested a bath, which they didn't give him --- they admitted to spraying some kind of scented thing on him instead). I ended up taking him to the emergency vet shortly after he threw up, and he was diagnosed with a bad case of aspiration pneumonia. The vet was very concerned. Thankfully with breathing treatments and medication, he recovered within a few weeks. Needless to say, I was extremely worried at the time, and remain disappointed in Citizen Canine. They missed easy-to-spot symptoms that my dog was having a serious medical issue, and jumped to the conclusion that my dog had suddenly developed behavioral issues (after playing and boarding there just fine in the past), instead of recognizing that he was in medical distress. Needless to say, I never took either of my dogs back. I didn't give 1 star because I do believe Citizen Canine is run by well-meaning people who generally treat animals well. However, they clearly have some issues to fix, given that they allowed this to happen.
Seven year old chocolate lab that has never been boarded or left with anyone other than a family member. He got high marks for behavior. Plus he seemed so happy after the daycare experience. He’ll definitely be back. Staff is helpful and welcoming.
5-Stars! 🐶 Nibbles sez: Woof! I love coming to daycare at CC. I get to play with my puppy friends. When it’s nap 😴 time, I have my own private room (not a cage). I also have had a few lessons with the awesome trainer, but during parent-teacher conference, I was called “sassy” because I refused to learn “spin”. All of the staff are amazing 🤩. My happy 😃 place when mom has to go to her office.
We’ve been using CC for boarding several years now after another place turned us down. Our rescue dog can be skittish and get overwhelmed around other people and dogs, but she’s found her home away from home. CC has shown her nothing but love, tenderness and quality care.
Bentley attended the Puppy academy and loved it! He was so excited to return each day. I have seen a difference in his behavior with responding to commands. CC is highly recommended!! The staff is outstanding with the puppies.
My husband and I loved everything about Citizen Canine. After one of our two chihuahuas got denied from other boarding places we decided to expand our search across other cities in the Bay Area. After reading some reviews we decided to go with Citizen Canine even though it's a 45 minute drive. From start to finish, the staff was very professional and truly caring. Our dogs connected with staff and other dogs (yay) and we just couldn't believe the difference between other places and Citizen Canine. Not only were our dogs cared for, we could tell that they had fun and the staff built their trust. When picking our dogs up the manager Timothy kindly put sweaters on our dogs (chilly day) and we were in awe since one of our dogs does not make it very easy to put a sweater on...LOL. We can't wait for our dogs to go back to meet their old and new friends but also get more love and care from the impeccable staff. Overall, we are just grateful that a place like this exists for our two little fur babies. Thanks!!! :D
My dogs love coming to Citizen Canine! The staff is friendly and attentive and I can tell they take good care of the pups. They are also very helpful when I call to ask questions or check on the dogs during their stay. I am very happy to have Citizen Canine nearby for boarding and daycare when needed!
our dog loves citizen canine. he gets excited when he sees the building from our car. we take him here for boarding and daycare. we’ve also done the training (dog academy) with them, and appreciated the feedback reports and homework. the staff is very friendly and kind. you can tell they take great care and love the pups.
Great clean and well organized facility run by staff who love dogs. Training was really helpful for my puppy. I like they group dogs by size and temperament for play time. My dog loved going to the training academy and still loves going to daycare. He comes back home calm and well behaved. I would highly recommend.
Great experience! My senior dog has a regimen of meds and supplements and they took all my notes and took great care of my guy! They even have this adorable chalk board out front that welcomes the pets coming in, and says farewell to the pets getting picked up. My dog got a report card at the end of his stay about how he handled everything. My dog was happy at the end of his stay, so we'll definitely be back and will try some of the add on packages that they offer. :)
Jeremy managed to get us set up with a great dog walker at very short notice. We are working with Eric--he's gregarious and clearly into dogs and his job. We interviewed him with our dog and were immediately at ease. We have an ever changing schedule and Jeremy and Eric have been able to accommodate that with no problems. THANK YOU Red Rover!
Our dog has been getting walks from Red Rover for almost 4 years. We have also boarded her with them. We couldn't be happier with their services and customer service. Riley loves her walks and comes back a happy and tired dog. I really don't know how we would function without them.
We love Red Rover! Jeremy has always been amazing with our dogs and has really put my mind at ease as a worried dog mama whenever we’ve gone out of town. If I could rate more than five stars, I would!
Red rover has been taking our dogs on adventures for over 5 years. Jeremy and his team are great. We highly recommend their services. Lance and Laurie Page
I’m so glad to have found trustworthy, honest, friendly & truly caring walkers to take care of Ned. As a first-time rescue owner, Ned was adopted and lived with two other dogs for two years. I recently moved to the area on my own with this sweet dog and as an anxious dog parent, I do worry about him without his dog mates. Dave is amazing with Ned and goes beyond his dog walking service. Once on a very hot day in Oakland, Dave ensured Ned did not overheat and turned on the fan for him. Including checking on his water bowl. This was not our first dog walker - I had a few before who did not have the same level of professionalism and general care for my Ned. I am so grateful for Jeremy and Dave.
We really appreciate the dog walking services of Red Rover! Our dog receives twice weekly walks rain or shine and he loves it! Thanks for the great care and service Red Rover!
I've been a client for many years and the Red Rover team is part of our family. Service is excellent and I trust them to love and care for my dog as if it were their own.
We go to work knowing our little apartment dwelling dog is kept safe and stimulated with Red Rover! Shim loves his trail adventures. :)
I love Red Rover! My dogs are always happy and my cats are taken care of consistently and well.
Red Rover is fantastic. They love dogs and dogs love them! Reasonable rates and reliable walks and boarding
Pam has taken excellent care of our two kittens/cats over the past two years. Pam and her team are very personable and attentive, and they clearly love their visitors. The accomodations are clean and comfortable, well-lit, and the windows have great views of trees, bird feeders, and more. Pam sends regular updates and pictures, and is happy to answer any question. Our cats have always come home comfortable and relaxed; obviously well taken care of. We highly recommend Pam and Critter Pet Care for all boarding needs!
🐾 I highly recommend Critter Pet Care. My cat has special needs and they treated him like a 🤴. They knew I was anxious about leaving him and kept me updated daily and even sent pictures. The little 🐈 house has AC and is set up very nicely specifically for kitties.😻 The owner is easy to work with and very accommodating. They take care of 🐕 as well.
I am so happy I found Pam! I met her when I was moving and also going on a trip, meaning maximum cat-life interruption and I was super stressed about how it would all go. She was totally communicative and reassuring while I was away, sending pictures of obviously-happy cats. She has also helped with vet visits and advice. It is so great to work with someone who cares about your animals as much as you do (and knows so much more). My only reservation is about spreading the word so that she might be hard to book! But she deserves recognition for providing such an outstanding and important service.
We had been planning a trip of a lifetime - 7 weeks abroad - and one of the most important things was also one of the hardest things to do and that was to ensure our 1-year old sibling cats, Daisy & Spunky, would be in a secure and caring environment while we were away from home. We found there are many places that board cats in “2’Wx2D’x2H’” stainless steel kennels with 1 or possibly 2 hours of daily “out of the kennel” play time. Although they may be clean and secure, that type of a “confined” environment would have been difficult for our cats to endure even if just for a weekend (especially for Spunky who is very sociable and inquisitive); 7 weeks would have been grueling for them. They would probably be wondering, “what did we do to be abandoned like this?”. Thank goodness we found Pam & Critter Pet Care! The design of the cat house is wonderful and the size and multi-level layout of the kennels, some of which could also be expanded to double wide for bonded pairs like ours, allows cats to “hunker in” and feel secluded, or to peek out through their window for watching birds at the bird feeders outdoors. Cats also get to explore and commingle or just chill in the common areas, or they can trek/jump up to the many perches mounted high along the walls of the cat house. We missed our cats to pieces but really appreciated how Pam automatically kept us updated with photos and info about what they were doing throughout our 7-week trip. It gave us great peace of mind and our reunion confirmed how well they were cared for during their stay. We will not hesitate to leave our beloved Daisy and Spunky in Pam’s care the next time we plan a vacation or require boarding services. Thank you very much, Pam, for providing such an important service, a cozy and engaging boarding environment, and for truly caring about the well-being of our pets. . . you’re the best!
I cannot recommend Pam highly enough for anyone with a pet. I hated to leave my old dog, recovering from an illness, with anyone, but she had come recommended for her transparency. Pam went above and beyond making my dog comfortable and cared for when I had to leave town. When i found I couldn’t get home when I had hoped, she made it work to keep watching him even though his care needs were more than we expected. She let me know how he was doing every day, and was incredibly kind. Pam will always be my first choice for someone to care for my pet.
Critter Pet Care takes excellent care to set an environment that allows the cats to feel at home and loved and for cat parents to feel completely at ease for their care. Pam and her staff are absolutely intuitive in their care for pets. She's personally taught me so much about cat behavior and how to be a better cat companion as a newer pet parent. Thank you for always offering a wonderful home away from home for my cats!
Pam is very professional and knows how to handle both cats and dogs. I had left my two cats with her for a day. She has a very good set up where our cats could feel at home. The cages were set up in such a way that the cats could also look outside at the world or lie in a secluded spot if they wanted. There was even a bird feeder right outside the window, to keep the cats entertained. I definitely recommend her place if you want your cats taken care of while you are on vacation.
Pam is incredible! My rescue pup was isolated for many years and after only a few weeks at daycare, he was much more sociable and calm. He has separation anxiety and has a really hard time being alone, so Pam has been a godsend since I found her about a year ago. She takes really good care of my pup and updates me with pictures and status, which is nice while I'm at work. She is super flexible with drop off/pick up times and always responsive. It's amazing how she is able to socialize dogs with cats, dogs with each others, etc. Also, the backyard is amazing! Huge and lots of room for dogs to play. My pup can't wait to get out there and run around:) Highly recommend Critter Pet Care, Pam is truly a lifesaver.
Pam is a great person, she is extremely responsive, caring and knowledgeable. This place inspires trust! We lodged our dog and cat during one week and they both had a very good time under their care. Pam took me home with my pets the day we checked out because there were no Uber or Lyft drivers available. It was so sweet and kind of her! I would highly recommend this place for cats and dogs. Expect questions about your pet’s health, behavior and a meeting session for dogs.
Pam at Critter Pet Care has been doing a great job for myself and my furry family members. We like to call her Auntie Pam, and she is like a second mother to my young kitties. Along with all of the regular responsibilities of taking care of food, water and litter cleaning, Pam also plays regularly with them (has even bought them some really fun toys and treats), brushes them, and also sends me photos and regular updates when I'm away. She is also willing to water my outdoor patio plants and she brings in the mail. I can be easy in my mind knowing that all will be well at home when I have to be away. Booking and communication has always been easy. I really like using her online portal where I can book and confirm upcoming visits. Finally, when I have last minute changes to my schedule and need to add or cancel visits, she is always willing to accommodate. We are so lucky to have found her and truly appreciate her wonderful care and service!
Dog Social Club is amazing. The staff is very friendly, adaptable and flexible. Most recently we’ve had our two dogs stay there, and both had the times of their lives. It’s great that they have play structures, pools, and additional services you can add for your pups. Our two boys have very different personalities, one loves dogs and is shy with people, the other loves people and is shy with dogs. Both came out of their shells and loved being a part of the pack. It’s been the only place that we’ve boarded them where we had full peace of mind during our own vacation (and where it seems like they are on vacation too!). Thank you DSC!!
“If it takes a village to raise a child” then I believe pet parents everywhere would agree the same could be said for raising a pup into a well adjusted, social, happy dog. For us, an integral part of that village is the staff of experienced and loving professional trainers and dog handlers at the Dog Social Club Cooperative. Our teenage Boxer Socrates has been a member since nine weeks old. Initially part of their puppy program, he continues to thrive here daily. For working pet parents, there is no greater value than knowing your beloved four-legged family member is living their best life while we’re at our day jobs. Our previous Boxer Gelato attended Every Dog Has its Daycare and when Socrates came into our life, I knew there was no better place for him to come of age. For those of us who understand the critical importance of positive social interactions, the Social Club Cooperative maintains a philosophy that prioritizes the safety of all its members and guests while showering them with all the love and attention they deserve during the day when their owners are away. Whenever I’m asked how I afford what some may consider a luxury, I respond simply with “I can’t afford not to.” This incredible facility continues to be an invaluable part of our Boxer’s nurtured training along with keeping him happy while embracing the multiple opportunities to socialize with other dogs, exercise, play, and learn. The Dog Social Club Cooperative truly lives up to its name. While I consider myself fortunate enough to be able to provide this privilege for Socrates, I embrace and celebrate the benefits of what he gets out of being here every day. For me, and for Socrates, this “village,” is a home away from home, and irrefutably, the happiest place on earth. Thank you Katie and Lindsey for what you have created here and to all the staff members who treat Socrates like one of the family, we appreciate all you do!
would never take my dog anywhere else in the bay area. he loves it so much he doesn't even say goodbye to me when I drop him off (which I consider a good thing!). he's so excited to go to dog social club and play with his friends and can't wait to get to the other side of that door! the staff always make the dogs sit first which is great training and they see that the dogs get along and are separated by size. puppies get their own play room as well. love the staff and can not say enough good things about this place.
My dog has a total blast at the dog social club cooperative! It's incredibly clean, the staff are super friendly & attentive, and it's clear to me just how much care and intention is put into making it an engaging and fun place for the dogs. Having read some of the reviews posted recently, I agree, and I also wouldn't take my dog anywhere else in the East Bay. This place is that good!
The BEST dog daycare in the East Bay. Would recommend it 10/10. Our dog loves it there, and always comes back home super tired (and sometimes wet from spending time at the pool).
The Dog Social Club (DSC) is by far the best dog daycare facility in town! All the staff members genuinely love dogs & they care about all the doggie members in their facility. The communication amongst staff members is also amazing! Any instructions provided to one staff member are shared amongst all the staff members, so my dog is cared for very well while being at the facility. I am totally worry-free while my dog is under their care. They are an extension of my home care for my pet. So, it is with upmost gratitude that I would like to thank DSC for the excellent service that they provide. I am especially thankful to Susy for assessing & admitting my love one!!
My dog has never been happier! The staff is incredible & super friendly. So excited I found the Dog Social Club
Staff are very friendly and accommodating. When my dog attends daycare, they send me a postcard showing how my dog is doing and pictures of her with dog friends.
Really lucky we got our dog in here. They are a very thoughtful and dedicated team. They are very conscious of her herding play style and have found her a good group. The small size group seems more conducive to active participation in play and not just anxious pacing she does with other places. We’ve already noticed more social behaviors when taking her to the local dog park. The additional services are also very reasonably priced.
My pup, Púca, has been going here for almost half a year and she loves it! We looked around for a while before trying a daycare, heard great things about DSC and have bought the super affordable 20-pack for $750 a couple of times. Their daycare hours are longer than average, drop off is available anytime from 6:30am-12pm, and pickup is available until 7:30pm. All of the staff know her by name and she always comes home tired & happy!
Our first visit to Wags for daycare was pleasant. I was able to drop my puppy off and stand in the window to the room she was in so I could watch how she reacted. My puppy is nervous around other dogs. I stood there a while a saw that she was safe. At first, one of the medium sized dogs was being a bully. My puppy is 11 lbs and belongs in with other small dogs. This medium dog was there because they didn't have enough medium dogs to justify creating a room just for them. I don't think that part is fair but that's their policy. During the day I received a picture and a phone call to let me know how Honey was doing. I was told that she was doing well and wanted a lot of attention from the staff member who was there to monitor. Honey seemed fine when I picked her up. The best part is that your first two visits are free.
Our boys Rusty and Ryder have been going to Wag Hotels for years. They have the best experience with the staff always excited to see them arrive and hanging out with all their buddies. We feel at ease knowing that they are well taken care of while we are away.
Please don’t let your dog stay here. We needed a last minute place to board our dog for a few days and choose to give this place a try. HUGE MISTAKE!!! For starters we had to call multiple times for the first 2 days of his boarding to ask why we haven’t received any photo updates like they stated we would. When we called they went to check on him and they let us know that his room was being cleaned because he had pooped inside. That was an immediate red flag due to the fact that they said he would be walked 3 times a day. ( mind you we walk our dog only twice a day at home and he has never gone to the bathroom inside ) alarmed that he had gone inside we asked if it was diarrhea ?! It wasn’t . We asked to please have a manager contact us.no one got back to us. Day 3 they finally sent us 2 photos of him which helped ease our stress. We picked him up today and he was returned to us covered in feces. All on his back /bottom and all paws and back of legs/ stomach. My heart dropped. Why would anyone think it is acceptable to return someone’s dog to them in that state? He was very clearly neglected. I don’t know if he was even walked at this point or checked in on. Who is to say any of the add ins even actually happen? I felt like my dog was dropped off at the pound and honestly dogs at the pound probably get treated better. When we asked the front desk why he was covered in poop and pee they stated they didn’t know and called over a shift manager just to tell us that she could wipe him down for us but that she wasn’t trained in dog bathing.. as if that’s the issue?! The neglect is. Absolutely disgusted with this place and its personnel. Do better.
Kate from support was so very helpful getting my pup a room on short notice over the Thanksgiving holiday. He always has such a great time at these facilities and they are always my first choice regardless of location!!!!!
If you want your dog to be loved while you're out of town bring them to Wag! I'm amazed every time we come in, no kennel smells, modern facility, great employees! The staff greets my dog by name as we walk through the doors! How they remember names when there are so many dogs coming in is amazing! My only nitpick is I was overwhelmed by the amount of pictures I received daily. Not that it is a bad thing, just overkill. Yes I love to see all the happiness but one a day is more than sufficient, in my opinion.
Our dog Edith loves to go play with her friends every day . The staff is very responsive and accommodating . Wanda and the front desk are friendly and helpful. I personally think the VIP package is a great value if you are in need of daily care . You can also take them in on the weekends . Love it. Thanks Wags !
We just boarded our dog for a one night stay. The room he had was bright and clean. The staff however is what makes this place great. The people I have dealt with are always friendly, courteous and professional all the time. I feel very confident that my dog will receive the best care possible when it might be a stressful time being away from home.
My dog Teddy stayed at Wag Hotel in Oakland 4 days recently. They sent photos twice a day showing him calm and happy… which he is by nature… and he usually wants to only be with me. So it was so reassuring that his stay was great and he was given lots of care and attention. He was glad to see me but not frantic…I was so happy too!
It was my first time using Wag Hotels. My pup stayed Sunday evening to Thursday afternoon. I like all the options that you can add to your dogs stay, like spa services, extra play time, grooming, etc. Before arriving, pack your dogs food in individual servings, as well as some toys & a T-shirt that you’ve worn (to soothe them while they’re staying overnight(s). Check in is short and simple. They’ll place a temporary collar on your pup with their name written on it and you’ll remove any harness or collars. I enjoyed receiving photos from the hotel of my pup during her stay. It feels good knowing that your pup is doing fine. I’d bring her here again.
Wag Hotel staff is so professional, polite people. When I walked in Jamilah was so nice and kind she gave me my tour and made me feel so comfortable being okay to live Berkeley the next day. My phone conversation with Kate was also very professional given this was a new experience for me and Berkeley. Overall I would definitely be bringing Berkeley back and I would recommend Wag Hotel. I also like how they email you pictures of their stay. Photo is on behave of Wag team, he has on his bandanas because he received one of the spa bath. Thank you again
Sue is a fantastic dog walker! Her professionalism shines through in every interaction. She's always agreeable and truly cares for my dog Cooper. I love that he comes back home tired, relaxed, and happy after each walk. Couldn't ask for a better caregiver for my furry friend!
Sue has been walking and boarding our rambunctious pup for more than two years, and we feel lucky to have found her. Reliable, flexible and loving to our dog who starts howling for Sue as soon as her car arrives. Thank you, Sue!
I feel very lucky to have found Sue. She is kind , flexible and communicative. My dog absolutely loves her and returns happy and tired when she’s been out with Sue. Sue goes above and beyond to make sure that your dog is well taken care of and safe. I trust her completely with my pup. She is very easy to work with and is a wonderful person.
Sue started walking our dogs when we made the crazy decision to add a new puppy to our family. Our older, 10 year old dog was a strong alpha female who was very particular and our new puppy was a wiggling ball of energy. Sue was amazing with both of them. When we first met Sue, the intake interview she did with us to get to know our dogs put the interviews we had with potential nanny's for our daughter to shame. She took time to really get to know us and our dogs and figure out how to keep everyone happy. Her patience was endless - from dealing with our puppy submitting to others and peeing in her car to accommodating our older dog by ensuring that she had a private place to sit up front in the car. Sue was consistent and reliable and we always knew our dogs would be well cared for. Our dogs loved her and ran to the door any time she arrived. Sue went above and beyond the call of duty and always returned us tired, happy dogs. We brought Sue on when we had a full house with a puppy and a young child and were crushed to leave her when we moved 4 years later. I have since highly recommended her to other friends in the area who have loved working with her. The care she provided to our furry family members was outstanding!
Sue is simply the best! She's been taking care of my big, 10 year old guy, Jonah, for a little over a year now and I have complete trust in her when he is with her. You can tell Sue truly loves animals, has years of experience and she is super communicative. She is super flexible with my schedule and I know Jonah is in great hands when he is with Sue! Highly recommend.
Sue provides a super professional and trustworthy service. It is nice knowing our dog is in safe hands as well as getting a quality dog walk and play session. Our dog loves Sue and looks forward to his weekly walks with her!
Sue has been part of our family ever since our husky was a pup of about 1.5 years old, and she is now 12. She has been a second mommy to our girl and helped us raise her. She is very attuned to her pack, and has always let us know if our girl has been acting out of sorts and alerted us to any concerns. She has always been very flexible with scheduling, and always provides ample notice for time off. If you are looking for someone that will care for your pup as if they were her own, then Sue is your person. I enthusiastically endorse her and would highly recommend her if you need someone to keep your pup company during the day.
Sue easily handles our rambunctious 80 lb ball of energy. Chula is so happy to see Sue that we fear for innocent victims of her tail wagging! Sue is a very trustworthy and competent dog walker who makes the outing fun for the whole crew. Highly recommended!
Sue clearly put the animals in her care at a priority. They come first in her eyes and that is reassuring for any owner. We have been working with Wag N Wheel for over three years now, our dogs love their walks with Sue and it's great to know that additional services like pack walks and boarding care are available if/when needed.
We love Sue! We don't know what we would do without her!
Without hesitation I recommend Oakland Pet Care to take care of your furry loved ones. Our dog has thrived on their daily pack walks. As a young high energy dog, our pup has greatly benefited from OPC's talented walkers who have helped him build confidence, gain positive social skills, and get some of that energy out. Going on pack walks is the highlight of our dogs day!
My dogs favorite part of the day is her hike with Olivia. We're working from home but it's really nice to have the dog gone for 2-2.5 hours and she comes back super happy and tired. Plus she's learned some new tricks and is much better off leash with us. She also lost some weight
Delia and the crew at Oakland Pet Care took care of our dog like family. One of the saddest parts of moving was that Ada would miss out on her pack walk. Great service. Really professional and responsive. Can't recommend highly enough!
Wonderful team here, they really love your pet like their own.
