Dalila boarded my two dogs for five days and i was worry free! I knew they were in good hands. She sent pictures and updates everyday, responds back quickly, reasonably priced. She’s amazing with animals, my dogs looked like they enjoyed every minute!

I have personally known Dalila for many years. I have also used her for all my pet sitting needs. She was so great with my senior dog Dempsey. Very experienced and respectful of certain wishes we had for him in her care. And my cat Snowy absolutely adores her and gets very excited to see Dalila! They always come back happy and calm and clean. And Dalila is so easy to work with. Very communicative, fast responder, clear-cut, friendly and a reliable and efficient service with an owner who was an absolute pleasure! We cannot enough great things about trusting our two big dogs with South Loop Pet Care! Deborah and Angel are AMAZING! Our dogs love them. They are great at communicating, and send the sweetest pictures and updates after every walk. Angel stayed at our place for a long holiday weekend as well before when we were out of town and it was so nice to not have to worry about anything while we were gone. We use them once to twice a day recently, and they are so responsive and easy to get ahold of! We couldn’t do these last few months without them! Very reasonably priced as well, could not be happier with their services and neither could our pups! Thank you!!

The south loop Pet Car personified incredible care and professionalism. I had an emergency situation where I had to leave town for 4 days. Within an hour of contacting the team, we had forms filled for my cat and home visits scheduled. Photos of my cat eating, getting pets and having his litter box cleaned were sent everyday. I've been using Almost Home for about five years and couldn't be happier with the service that they provide. I love my dogs so much and couldn't stand the thought of them being home alone after my job situation changed which required me to spend more time in the office. Donna from Almost Home has been terrific. There are a lot of things people have to consider when using a service like this as you have to trust the person you are going to hire and above all being comfortable with them looking after your precious 'babies' is of utmost importance. Donna has always been trust-worthy and reliable. She is very professional and always has my dogs' best interest in mind. If its too hot outside she will let my dogs out in the yard to relieve themselves and get some fresh air and then spend some time with them in the house. Donna leaves a handwritten summary of her visits and we always look forward to reading them. She is 100% reliable and trustworthy and I never have to give a second thought to her services as I know Donna will always show up and walk my boys and lock the house up tight when she leaves. She's never NOT shown up in the 5 years that I've known her! I have nothing but the highest praise for Donna at Almost Home and I'm glad that she's part of our life.

I was recommended Donna through a pet groomer service. She was very professional and flexible when setting up a meet & greet. My dogs (I have 3) seemed to have obeyed her better than they obey me. Donna was very professional and nice. I felt very comfortable with leaving her with the keys to the house and teaching her the alarm system. I always looked forward to her "report card" on what my dogs did, how long they were outside, and how they behaved. I now work night shift and do not need her services, but if that every changes, she will be the first person I contact to care for my four legged family.

My husband and I absolutely adore Pamela, and – most importantly – our cats LOVE her! That means a lot coming from our kitties in particular. Our older male cat has a long history of aggression toward strangers, which has made finding in-home cat care nearly impossible. Choosing Pamela as our cat sitter made our entire trip less stressful. We were gone for 2 weeks and were a little nervous to leave our two cats, Bob and Finley home alone the whole time. She tried several methods and was incredibly patient with me and with Finely to see what the matter was. After our trip, I half expected to come home to stressed cats since we were gone for so long. However, we came back to 2 calm kitties who were eager to see us, but clearly happy! It gave me so much joy to know I made the right decision leaving them in the care of Pamela. We are moving currently, and one of the first things I texted Pamela after our trip was to see if she serviced our new neighborhood. Pamela's intake process is extremely thorough, so when you are away she has everything prepared and ready to cater to the needs of your pet and family. For example, Pamela knows I have separation anxiety from my kitty, so she sends the most detailed updates and pictures of my kitty while we are away. This helps put us at ease. Pebbles also LOVES Pamela, and she is usually pretty indifferent toward strangers. When we came home I swear she missed Pamela. She takes the time to play with Pebbles and make sure she has her favorite programs on the TV so she doesn't get lonely in-between drop-ins. If you need a cat sitter, I can't recommend Pamela enough. She is wonderful to work with and really takes pride in doing a good job. When we came home, Pebble's litter box area was cleaner than we left it. So many positive things I can say, but as a crazy cat mom, Pamela of APEXPert Holistic Paws Care is a godsend.

Pamela was really amazing! She rescued us during a busy Thanksgiving weekend and took excellent care of our dogs. She was incredibly, professional, kind and respectful. She took extra care to take care of our two dogs while we were away. She worked with us to find a schedule that would work best for the dogs and the dogs both adored her! We have never come back from a vacation with such happy pets. I really appreciated all of the care she took to communicate with us along the way and prepare us and herself for watching the dogs while we were away for the week. Took my fur baby Marlee that's usually aggressive being groomed around the face area for a bath and trim. When I picked her up she looked and smelled AMAZING!! I asked her groomer (Ariyanna) how Marlee did (I did warn her) and found out it was much better than I expected. That means she was really comfortable. We'll definitely be back!

Took my 8 month old golden here for a bath/trim and was very disappointed. They did a good job at getting him clean but I asked for a sanitary trim but what I got was a choppy cut and near buzz cut on his genitals, which left them a little red and inflamed. I understand that a puppy’s first trim not going to look perfect but I have a golden retriever and unless the fur was really matted on his genitals, there should be no reason to shave so close to the skin and cut it so short on the buttocks area. I don’t think anyone with a long haired breed would have anticipated a sanitary trim involving anything outside of the rectangular zone where their genitals are. They were responsive to my complaint to them personally, but I don’t think the fact that he is a puppy, this being his first cut, or that this is “standard” for a sanitary trim are good enough excuses. I’m glad my dog is okay but I now have to monitor him to make sure he doesn’t lick so much he gets an infection. I will not be coming back but if anything good were to come out of this, I hope this is all considered each time they groom a dog. *I covered some of the picture as I know that area can be somewhat sensitive content

Just took my dog here the first time he was very overgrown and came back looking nice and healthy looked better than the petsmart groomers in Ohio I could tell they wouldn’t really do his nails because he’s hard to do. He’s shaking his ears a lot so I’m monitoring that since they were really heavy now with that weight off I guess he’s shaking a lot but hopefully that will go away soon.

Randi was super communicative with me, and Ariyanna took care of Bear yesterday! he was so happy and shiny, and we can't get over his new haircut (: we'll be back plenty when he's ready for another grooming, and we are super interested in the pet sitting services as we also have three cats! thanks again for everything!

We get our Wrigley groomed and have him walked twice a week. 1st I would like to say the grooming is excellent from the price, customer service & grooming. The dog walking service is amazing! Wrigley loves his walkers Miranda & Melissa! He’s always excited when they come and a very happy pup when he comes home! Once we left his leash in a friends car which meant no walk that day so I texted both Miranda & Melissa asking if they sold leashes and both responded with “I have a spare you can use”! Love this level of service! I can’t say enough about this place, 5 stars all around!!

I'm Happy I gave Bow Wow Meow a call. I don't drive so being able to walk over with my pets was helpful. Miranda is Very pleasant to work with. She cuts my cat Onyx's nails. Her associate took care of my elderly dog Athena's nails.(Athena Loves the treats!) The Goodwill Miranda showed in operating her business will keep me a steady customer.

I don’t usually do reviews of anything but doing one now because of how great Miranda and everyone else here is. I brought home my dog Mac 7 months ago after his previous owners returned him to the shelter. He is leash reactive (we’re working on it, slowly) so walking him can be a handful sometimes but they do such a great job with him. I’ve also had him groomed here before. I would recommend Bow Wow to anyone.

Miranda and the whole team at Bow Wow Meow are fantastic! I’m a professional bartender who works long hours, and if it weren’t for them I don’t know how I would keep my Buster boy happy! Not only do they help me walk Buster multiple times a week, but on the rare occasion I get to vacation, I use Bow Wow Meow to board Buster as well. He loves his walkers and he really loves boarding! Miranda and her team are great with communication and always send me adorable updates and any pertinent information about Buster or his walk. I couldn’t recommend their service more!

Hyde Bark has provided amazing care for our two year old golden retriever during our time in Chicago! River has loved her days at the play park and her overnight boarding with various Hyde Bark employees. The staff is always polite, friendly, and informative and the owners, LeAnna and Brandon, have always been a pleasure to work with and have even hosted River at their house for an overnight boarding. The owners saw a need for pet care on the Hyde Park and have stood up to provide the community with a primer pet care service! Hyde Bark will be one of the things we mist most about Chicago as we move from the city!

When I moved away from Chicago, the dog walkers at Hyde Bark were some of the hardest goodbyes. Hyde Bark is a real gem, and both my dog and I miss the amazing and professional care that Hyde Bark provided. Hyde Bark took incredible care of both my senior dog, Yogi, who had some health issues towards the end of his life, and my new puppy, Bella, who can be a little nervous around new people. Both Yogi and Bella absolutely loved going on their Hyde Bark walks and would come back home so happy after their adventures. Moreover, Hyde Bark also provided top-notch boarding and pet sitting--they always provided detailed updates so I never felt nervous about leaving my dogs to go away on vacation. Plus, the pictures they snap of your dogs are amazingly cute. Overall, Hyde Bark has really set the standard I use when looking for dog walking and boarding in the future. I have zero reservations about recommending Hyde Bark to the Hyde Park pet community.

Badshah, I, our whole family adore Hyde Park Bark. We use boarding, the play park, walking and bathing. My dog is skeptical of strangers but somehow all the staff a HPB become his friends. I think I would move out of Hyde Park if they were to move their business!

Found Hyde Bark on recommendation from a co-worker. Our (not so) little Ms Maggie has now been going to doggy daycare at Hyde Bark at least twice a week for over a year. She adores the staff and her dog pals. We love the daily messages that include pictures, updates on whether or not she's eaten, her energy level, etc. Highly recommended!

Moose loves going to Hyde bark play park! As soon as we turn the corner he tries to start running toward the door because he is so excited to play with his friends. The staff is always friendly at drop off and pick up and they make sure to tell us if he is ever having any issues. We are so lucky to live so close to such a great doggie daycare!

We have been taking our beloved husky to Hyde Bark for over a year now, and we couldn't be happier with the exceptional service they provide. From the moment we walk through the door, we are greeted warmly and kindly by the wonderful staff. Each and every employee we have interacted with has been nothing short of amazing. He absolutely loves going to Hyde Bark every week. He arrives joyfully, tail wagging, and I pick him up at the end of the day with complete peace of mind, knowing that he has been treated with the utmost care. It's clear that he has made friends and has been watched over carefully. The team at Hyde Bark goes above and beyond to ensure that every dog is happy and well-cared for. Their dedication and love for pets shine through in everything they do. We are incredibly thankful to have such a fantastic place in our neighborhood. Hyde Bark truly feels like a second home for our dog, and we couldn't imagine taking him anywhere else. Thank you, Hyde Bark, for your exceptional service and for always making us feel welcome. I can’t say enough good things about Hyde Bark! My dog has been going there for over year. They have taken such great care of my shy rescue dog and have helped her learn to trust new people. They send personalized messages and pictures throughout the day which I really appreciate along with the crafts they do for holidays! Their services have been so vital to my life and being able to take good care of my dog while having a busy work schedule. They are very flexible when I need to cancel or change appointments. Only feedback I have is that I really miss Todd (the former manager) and the prices are on the higher side for Chicago.

I have been meaning to write a review for Hyde Bark Dog Walking for a while, as I have had experience working with them since the adoption of our dog, Bailey, in July 2020. First and foremost, I want it to be exceptionally clear that this review is based on our experiences and the needs of our particular pooch. It is evident that the owners and employees of Hyde Bark that we have interacted with love animals and put the safety of their employees first - as they should. I am writing this review more in service of individuals who are looking for dog and pet care services for a dog who would benefit from professionals in dog behavior and training. Our dog is a nearly 100 lb Bernedoodle who suffered an unfortunate attack by a neighborhood dog and had some understandable difficulties thereafter. Days after his attack, we were scheduled to be out of town and had arrangements for pet care in our home through Hyde Bark (after ~a year of consistent walking and other uneventful overnight stays); unfortunately, one evening the usual employee was unavailable, so Hyde Bark filled the staffing gap with someone unknown to Bailey. They were first introduced while Bailey was alone, at night, which we should have known would be problematic. This employee got up in the night to use the restroom and then pet the sleeping dog, which resulted in a bite to the employee and our being forced to leave our trip and come home to care for Bailey. After this event, we worked with Hyde Bark and actually began some dog training with someone they recommended (who I still strongly recommend - Elizabeth Jefferis). She validated that this event was not surprising given the circumstances, particularly given the time proximity to his attack. This introduction was a major blessing, as Elizabeth helped us immensely in better understanding Bailey's needs. TLDR of this review is that, unfortunately, we had 2 subsequent events in the 3 years that followed (1: Bailey was scared in the night again and snapped - we no longer did overnights at this point), and then most recently when the neighborhood dog ran out of his house AGAIN and attacked Bailey during a walk. The walker got Bailey back into our home and unfortunately suffered a redirect bite from Bailey. This is when Hyde Bark's owner called us to inform that they were no longer able to participate in Bailey's walking at all. I obviously completely understand this decision and think it was the correct decision on their part given the series of events and the need to ensure the safety of their staff. That being said, if you have a dog who may be similar to my dog in past experiences, you may want to consider other options - perhaps options with walkers who are equipped to read and understand dog cues/behavior. I later learned from Elizabeth that to leave a dog alone overnight is equivalent to solitary confinement and really never should have been suggested as an alternative when overnight care was no longer an option. It is also worth noting that Hyde Bark is aware of the neighborhood dog issues and actually also walks (to this day) the dog who has attacked Bailey twice. I would suggest in the future, where possible, to select different walkers and to choose alternative routes than to walk by the same house where an aggressive dog has run out of his unfenced yard twice to attack. Obviously staffing limitations and routes are finite resources, but it may have helped us avoid cutting ties. I truly think the owners and staff of Hyde Bark are wonderful and our primary dog walker really was a loved member of our family and Bailey's favorite hooman. Unfortunately, despite good intentions, I think there was just a critical skill set missing in our case for the needs of our dog. I was compelled to write this review to help people and dogs in our situation, as I had a difficult time finding a suitable alternative based on reviews after going separate ways with Hyde Bark. The good news is we have found an outstanding option for Bailey's needs in Canine State of Mind. Please see separate review.

(I also posted on Yelp but wanted to include my review here as well) If I could rate them a zero, I would. Last year, I tried to sign up my dog to attend daycare, respecting the established process. Initially, I called but no one picked up. Thankfully, because I work in the area, I decided to visit them to inquire more especially because I needed an option for my dog within the next few days. Upon entering the business, I was a bit apprehensive because I was not met with the warmest hello but didn't pay it much attention. Thankfully, one of the employees went through the process and told me that if I followed all the instructions my dog could do a trial run within the next few days as needed. This was a Wednesday. That night, I submitted all the paperwork and awaited email confirmation the following day. By Thursday afternoon, I had not heard back, even though I was told someone would contact me by then. I called and no picked up. So because I needed to know if Hyde Bark would be an option by Friday, I headed over once more. By the time I got there, the door was locked. Thankfully, so I thought, I saw the person I spoke to earlier that week through the window. I waved and they made eye contact but the person literally looked at me and turned away, continuously avoiding eye contact with me. Acting as if I wasn't there. It was at that point that I was sufficiently done with their lack of care and customer service to new customers. I felt like it was a preview into what it would be like for them to keep my dog. Additionally, I did not feel comfortable leaving my dog in a place where the establishment did not make themselves available to myself, a newer doggy parent, or attempt to bring comfort to myself or even become thrilled at the opportunity to get my business. I am so happy that others are voicing their experiences, I felt so alone. My dog is super happy at Pack Life, and so am I.

I cannot thank Janet enough for her wonderful care of Sandy. Sandy had a cardiac event while in Janet's care in August. Janet went above & beyond for her, taking her to the vet & notifying us. We were only 3hrs. away & came back immediately, meeting her at the emergency vet in Orland Park. I feel so bad that this happened while Sandy was with her. Janet is a wonderful & caring person. We have used her service before & would use it again (if she would have us). Sandy is doing well now & is on heart medication. Janet, thank you again!

Janet is a great dog sitter. She is very caring and concerned about the well being of pet in her care. She was especially great when Otto got sick. Janet took him to the Vet, kept me up to date and gave Otto his medicine. I highly recommend having Janet sit your dogs.
