First time leaving my Stettson and Patches while we went out of town. I was so nervous however they embraced the moment and enjoyed every bit of 5 star service. They are the same price as the kennel at my vet and they have much more outside time. I have two large dogs and they came back tired and happy. They get outdoor time multiple times a day and there is a small and a large area with a pond. Both my dogs were allowed to stay together in the same run and since it was their first time staying there I called to check up on them and the owner even sent pictures. I am very pleased and will be back.

This is an awesome boarding facility. We have boarded our border collie with Marilyn several times and she and her staff have always been terrific. Our dog has always been happy and well cared for here. The first time we boarded her here, Marilyn even gave us some pointers on better and more effective training for our dog and she has responded very well. Marilyn and Rachel obviously have a terrific love of animals and dogs especially and it really shows in the care they take of their guests. Highly recommend!

Marilyn is great with treating each dog like they are her own! She has trained two of my dogs and worked wonders. She is flexible and always has time to answer questions about training my 15 month old Pyrenees. The property is beautiful, clean and welcoming! When I board Glory she is happy to return.

I have been bringing my dogs to Marilyn off and on for 25 years. First my golden retriever, who loved being there and now my Pomeranian, we trust and recommend Mandarin Pet Care to all pet owners.

This was my first time using a boarding facility for my dog and I decided to chose Mandarin Pet Care during Memorial Day weekend. My dog didn't display any abnormal behavior upon pick up so I'm guessing everything went fine. I am not sure how well the facility is kept due to the public not being able to actually walk in and is greeted at the door by Ms Marilyn. The price is by the day and not by the night and that can make a difference if travel plans are longer than a weekend. New customers are also given the first night stay free!

I feel absolutely terrible that I boarded my dogs at this awful place. I would rather cancel my vacation than ever leave my dogs here ever again. The only good thing about this place was its affordability, which in hindsight should have been a warning. The worst thing was that they definitely don't follow their as-advertised schedule, so the dogs are probably locked up in kennels the majority of the time. Our flights were delayed and we were there to pick up our dogs at 7:15pm, which is supposed to be in the middle of the 7pm-9pm final playtime. Instead all the dogs were already tucked in for the night in the unlocked kennel building, and there were no humans around. When a very salty Marilyn finally showed up to hand over the dogs, she simply dropped the leashes and they immediately ran to us. I was expecting to see how a professional dog trainer would handle 3 puppies on a leash, instead she tossed the leashes on the ground and went back inside without another word. They all had to pee immediately and all three were also all extremely thirsty. We were also given no instructions about dropoff when we called to make the boarding reservation, and their website lacks a lot of detail, so we received some cold shoulder when we dropped off our 3 dogs without having completed all their paperwork and without food (some places we have boarded at before provide food for free or for cheap). We had 3 puppies, 2 of which were very young, but they bought adult food with our money. It was the tiniest most expensive bag too, way more than what we usually pay, and the bag wasn't even half empty, when it should have been empty with the amount of food our pups usually eat. I am concerned that our puppies were fed adult food, were barely fed at all, were not offered enough water, did not get the 8 hours of advertised playtime, and did not have enough bathroom opportunities. Mandarin Pet Care was also very unresponsive to phone calls and to emails throughout the entire process. Their lack of professionalism was incredible. This was a horrible experience all around.

Our family recently went through a difficult time, and we needed an immediate place to board our 3 pups for an unknown amount of time. Marilyn and staff took great care of them, and sent me updates and pictures/videos via text every day. Great experience and I highly recommend! If this service is needed in the future, I will be bringing them back here!

I cannot begin to say enough about Mandarin Pet Care. Marilyn and the entire staff at Mandarin Pet Care treat our two beagles like they were their own. I have been using Mandarin Pet Care for about three years now and always without issue. The price even though it has increased recently is still about $10-$20 cheaper than I would get if I went to a traditional boarding facility. Medications, extra feedings, and a little extra attention to a somewhat sicker pet all come at no extra charge where as other boarding facilities would charge per medication administration or per extra feeding. If you ever have the opportunity to use Mandarin Pet Care do both you and your pet the favor of doing so, you will not be disappointed!!! Thank You Marilyn for always taken care of our two beagles.

We took our pups here for a few days while taking a trip. The pricing is affordable but the owner is not a people person and really didn’t care to ease my anxiety about leaving my dogs for the first time (ever!) She was very off putting when we showed up to drop off our dogs and rolled her eyes at us when we wanted to see the facility they would be staying in. She sent one video a day of them just sniffing in the yard which didn’t make me feel good at all.. She was very rude about my emotions & I worried about them my whole trip. After picking them up, we found that they were excessively thirsty as well as covered in fleas (& we treat regularly). When I addressed this to her she took no responsibility and brushed it off her shoulder. I am grateful that my pups are alive but I will not be bringing them back.

Carolyn is the BEST! Both she and her mom, who both worked with my dogs, did everything possible to make things work for us. My dogs are not used to other people, but Carolyn kept at it until they both accepted her completely, no small task with my guys! Daily emails with lots of pictures let me know they were being loved and well cared for. Carolyn even took the time to wash their blankets! Best vacation ever for me, knowing my dogs were in their own environment with someone who loved them...definitely plan to call Carolyn anytime I need a sitter!

Anyone who has the opportunity to work with Carolyn and Reigning Cats and Dogs of Jax, will not be disappointed! As a cat mom, I am very particular with who watches my kitties. Carolyn has never let me down. She takes incredible care of my babies and sends me text and picture updates when I'm away. She has taken the time to get to know me and my pets. She's even cleaned and tidied up without being asked. I would recommend Carolyn and Reigning Cats and Dogs to anyone in need of a sitter for their furry friends.

Carolyn is amazing! I have used her twice now and will continue to use her when I have out of town travels. She has taken such good care of my Jesse and spends quality time with him. Always communicates promptly and sends pics of how you pet is doing. She will even do overnight stays so your precious dog (or cat) does not feel alone for too long. I HIGHLY recommend using her for all of your pet sitter needs.

I've used Carolyn about 6 times to watch my young cat and am thrilled with the way she interacts with Joy each and every time. Carolyn is prompt in all her communications with me, and spends a great deal of time with Joy, not just rushing in and out to refresh her food and water. I can highly recommend Carolyn.

Carolyn goes above and beyond. She loves your kitties as well as you do while you are gone. My very skittish kitty who usually only loves his Momma and Daddy was out the first visit, eating from her hand the second and wondering why we bothered to come home after her third and our outgoing guy didn’t miss any loving either. Carolyn sent pictures so we wouldn’t miss our Boyz so much and we came home to very clean litter box and feeding station. The mail was in and we felt so safe to leave them again. We would recommend Carolyn highly!! She leaves no detail un handled.

I travel fairly frequently for work but my wife has always been home to take care of Bartle Doo, our cat and also the master of the universe. I've always been hesitant for both of us to leave, even for just a few days. Boarding stresses your pet, and your pet would rather be home anyway. But too many things can go wrong in the home without care, and relying on the kid who lives across the street is also a bad bet. I've been using Reigning Cats and Dogs of Jax since 2013, and now I can travel with my wife without worrying about cat care. Carolyn provides reliable and affordable service! It sure makes life easier. I especially appreciate the text messages and pictures from her visits. Besides feeding, playing with, and caring for your pet, Carolyn will also pick up your mail and water your plants if need be. Five stars!

Carolyn gave loving care to my cat Poe while I was out of town for a week. As requested, she communicated daily through text and pictures. She was responsive when he needed more cuddle time.

Reigning Cats and Dogs provides exemplary pet-sitting service. During the initial meet & greet, she professionally and sincerely took time to understand my cat's and my needs and preferences. She knew all the right questions to ask! I felt at ease immediately, and Romeo immediately responded to her gentle petting and scratching. During her visits, she conscientiously texted me with adorable pictures and updates to let me know all was well. I felt relieved that a caring and professional person was not only feeding and providing fresh water, but also cuddling, grooming, and playing with my cat. She also cleaned the litter box regularly. I had a couple schedule changes, and she graciously rearranged her schedule to accommodate last minute changes. I was so thankful, because with her quality of service she must be very busy. It demonstrated that she truly cares about the pets she takes care of. She spends 30 minutes during each visit, and her rates are reasonable and competitive. I recommend the compassionate care by Reigning Cats and Dogs of Jacksonville unreservedly and enthusiastically.

The hosts were great and very gracious during our meet and greet! Yet I didn't use them; it wasn't the best choice for me. Ultimately I just decided to go a different route that was more suitable specifically for my pet who is accustomed to a quiet environment with only few people.

Paws and Claws have been watching our 3 Danes for about two years. Charlotte and her team have been fantastic. Jennifer and Dana are always on time and really care about our babies! It’s been a big relief knowing they are being taken care of so well!

We’ve had a great experience with paws and claws pet sitting! Dana and Jennifer have both checked in on our girls when we’ve been out of town. The communication is always great and we love the picture updates we get! It gives us peace of mind leaving our girls and it is so nice to know they are in good hands.

We were fortunate to have found Paws and Claws a week before a last minute business trip. Tara and Angie took such wonderful care of our fur baby Sox, sending us daily “action” photos and written updates so we didn’t worry. Our travel home was delayed so I was able to add on a day to ensure Sox was taken care of. Both ladies are professional and Sox looked so happy in the pics. Its very hard to find someone you can trust to take care of your animals the way you take care of them but we have found over the past two years Paws and claws have exceeded our expectations. We love getting morning and evening pics of our beloved Fluffy along with descriptions of how she is doing when we are away. Sitters are GREAT and I never worry about her which makes leaving her so much easier. Recommend them to everyone!

I cannot recommend the barking lot enough! We have a rescue dog who is very high anxiety, doesn’t always get along with other dogs, and is scared of everything, including some people. But Sue is an expert and so great with her! We’ve tried other places in Jacksonville, but no where else gives our dog the same level of attention and care. You can tell how passionate Sue is about animals immediately when you meet her. It’s so great to be able to relax on vacation knowing our dog is being taken care of by someone who is so knowledgeable and caring! Sue is also very easy to reach and flexible - when we are on vacation we’re able to text Sue directly to check in on our dog and see how she’s doing! And she’s able to accommodate pretty much any time that works for us to pick up or drop off. The pricing is also very very good. We are so happy that we found the barking lot and will never go anywhere else!

Sue sits for and walks our Maltipoo Pearl. To say Sue is dog knowledgeable is an understatement! She’s honest, no nonsense and knows her craft. I highly recommend Sue as a dog sitter!

I've boarded our 70lb chocolate lab with Sue at the Barking Lot 3 times now and can say that I completely trust the Barking Lot to take good care of my pup while we are away. We adopted our dog from the shelter last year and not only did Sue take great care of our fur baby, but she recommended to us the right trainer to address his reactivity, and even taught us what to do differently to improve his coat. Sue is an absolute lifesaver. Our 40 lb Florida brown dog Marty loves coming to “Aunty Sue’s” for daycare and boarding. Sue provides complimentary baths and is very flexible with the plans, a necessary for our hectic schedule. We love The Barking Lot!

We lost our home in Irma and our 4 boxers and our doxie "The Pimp" were displaced. Susan, Brittany and Melissa went way beyond the call of duty in taking care of our babies. I called Sue and asked her if she be interested in taking care of my dogs one day when I had to go in to the hospital for daytime surgery she told me she was really busy and that she would call me back later that day she never called me back I even drove down to her business she doesn't allow people inside and I just want to tell you she is just downright rude! I even left her a voicemail after she never called me back to please call me back and she never did! If this is how she treats customers she should go out of business like I said she's downright rude!

My sweet dog Elsie is blind and has special needs. The Barking Lot meets her needs and more. She is always lovingly cared for there I highly recommend the Barking Lot.

Excellent business! My sitter was extremely accommodating in taking care of my skittish older dog and managing the household while I was out of town. She was patient and clearly a dog lover and my pet took to her right away. She really wanted him to feel comfortable and happy. The business is well run and responsive and the rates are reasonable. I like the fact that there are several sitters available in the event of an emergency.

Love this service. We had a new puppy I was nervous about leaving him for a full day and they took him on last minute with in-home boarding. They took really good care of him and out for walks verses being in a crate/kennel all day alone. Great people and I would highly recommend the boarding or the dog walking service where you get a nice daily report of how they did each day while you were gone. (also love the text updates!)

Using this service was the best decision ever, I always worry about my “boy” when I have to travel. Receiving daily notes as well as pictures was both fun and reassuring. I would most definitely recommend them and continue using them when I have to travel.

Cannot thank you guys enough for accommodating us during our work trip! All my questions before arriving were answered right away, the registration and booking process were straightforward, and daycare dropoff/pickup times were flexible which was a big help with our work schedule for the day. Sadie had a wonderful time, and if I were local I'd send her to play every week!

My 8 month old Frenchie had a wonderful time when I boarded her the first time last weekend for four nights. She loved interacting with the other dogs as well as their amazing staff. She was cleaned and looked beautiful and happy when I picked her up. I will always take her there when she needs to be boarded. I plan on taking her weekly for playtime for socialization. Everyone is so friendly. The reception area and the front looked very clean and well maintained. The check in was super good and our boy was remembered by all staff despite not having him there since august of 2021 😊 The staff were real nice and courteous! They all said good morning when walking by while we were checking in and they just seems to enjoy themselves with the pops!

We love this place and I’m pretty sure our puppy loves it even more! The kennels are huge, playtime comes with a report card and photos/videos, and the staff always gives the dog so much attention and love. They have a pool, nature walks, and don’t forget the bath at the end of their stay—he smells and feels awesome for at least a couple of days, which is great since his favorite pastime is rolling in dead frogs whenever possible. And it’s not crazy expensive, like so many of the chain options. It’s awesome to go on vacation and not feel guilty knowing the puppy is living his best life!

One of the best clinics this side of Tallahassee. All 4 of mine stay in wonderful health because of these guys. Alot of hard answers to really hard questions but for these guys it's ANIMALS FIRST.

Bad to the Bone Pet Care has been such a great resource for me and my pups here in Jacksonville! Doug, Eli, and Brenna are professional, reliable, and clearly care about the pets they work with. One of the best experiences I’ve had was when they took my pup on a special “field trip” for her birthday while I was stuck at work. They even got/made her a custom dog cake—it was such a thoughtful and fun way to celebrate! When I got my new puppy, they really helped with the adjustment process by coming during the day to let him outside and tire him out while I was at work. The detailed reports they leave after each visit, along with lots of photos, give me total peace of mind. I always know what they did, how everything went, and if my dog went potty. My dogs love them, and it’s been such a relief knowing they’re in good hands. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Bad to the Bone next year and beyond. Highly recommend to anyone needing reliable and professional pet care!

If I could give more stars than 5 I would. Denise and Christine took care of our large and diverse pet family for a week after our pet sitter of many years recently moved away. The idea of having to have someone new come over was worrying because we have a lot going on and it’s not an easy task. Denise and Christine are AMAZING. They took time and patience to gain the trust of our very old and grumpy chihuahua who gave them hell the first few visits along with juggling multiple other cats, dogs and a indoor/outdoor pot belly pig. I got thorough reviews after every visit along with cute pictures and updates on each individual pet, they kept the house tidy and even took out the trash can to the road on recycling day. My old dog required medicine 3 times a day which made me really anxious but they even sent pics of him eating it so I could rest assured he was getting what he needed. They loved every single one like their own and I couldn’t be more thankful and impressed. We have definitely found our new pet sitters and now have no reservations about going away knowing our children will be loved and cared for while we are gone. Thank you so much Denise and Christine along with Bad to the Bone - you are top notch with the service you provide and I highly highly recommend.

Doug was the best ever! he is so compassionate with the dogs and so calm with their owners. he kept us updated and sent pictures and solved problems on excellently. Can’t say enough good things! thank you Doug for driving my pups across the country.

I hired bad to the bone twice to care for my mini horse Fitzgerald. They always do a great job and follow directions. Bonus part is you can see the visit and where they walked which I love since exercise is critical to my horses wellbeing.

I can’t say enough about the wonderful and totally professional care given to my pups by Christine for an overnight stay while we were out of town. My dogs loved Christine and she loved her time with them as well. Three little terriers can be quite a handful at times but Christine managed the house and them with ease. At the same time she managed to keep in touch with us about the dogs and send us amazingly adorable pictures throughout the stay. It’s comforting to know your babies are receiving such good care and we will use Bad to the Bone again soon.

Cassie loves Dogtown and the staff! When I tell her it's a playday, she starts bouncing and greets everyone when we get there, who all know her by name. She never looks back when a tech comes to get her. She comes homes hapoy and tired. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Just picked up my two beagle-mix hounds after their 10 day stay—they came out from the back with their tails wagging, happy as they could be. And I got them both the deluxe bath, so not only were their coats clean and soft, their toenails were clipped perfectly, their ears were clean, and they smelled great. So happy with Dogtown—they sent me three pupdate report cards with photos over the course of the stay and happily responded to my afterthought requests whenever I called. Dogtown was so accommodating and wonderful with my 2 kitties. They were flexible with my schedule (& being last minute as I had an apartment emergency) & they have a separate cat room so I didn’t have to worry about my girls being scared around the dogs. It’s great to feel comfortable about having a place to board them in the future. I’ve never done anything like this before and was nervous, they were very reassuring and let me know they did great and came out to explore. Made my heart so happy! Would highly recommend!! Thank you DogTown staff so so much!

I started bringing my pup here this week and I will 100% be back. The staff is caring and attentive. They made sure my adopted husky was placed with the right dogs and was introduced gradually to ensure he was friendly. They send little updates and you can call anytime to check in on your dog. Highly recommend!

I recently had a multi-day stay at Baptist South. The staff at Dogtown had my babies while I was gone. The update I received showing pics of them super cute and happy made my day. They also had nothing but positive things to say about the pups and detailed their experiences and character which was very pleasant and articulate. Due to my health situation, Dogtown staff even handled them from car to facility both at dropoff and arrival. Everyone is so courteous, the facility is so nice and I have nothing but the BEST things to say about this experience, especially during a time of need. Thank you!!!

PLEASE READ IF YOUR ARE CONSIDERING THIS PLACE FOR BOARDING! THIS PLACE LEAVES DOG IN THEIR KENNELS FOR HOURS ON END TO PEE ON THEMSELVES. I brought my dog here to be boarded for an extended weekend- first they told me my dog has to have a mandatory bath if they are staying more than a day- and they charged me for it with no option to skip- which was odd to me but was clear why upon returning to pick up my dog Lucy…. Even though they said they just bathed her, her feet and legs and bottom were stained yellow- I have a white large standard poodle- and she reeked of urine!! I asked them about it and they said she just peed on herself in her cage - my dog is fully potty trained she never makes accidents in the house and this was all over her like she had been laying in her urine. So I inquired further about how long she was left in the cage….they started to stutter on their words so I got suspicious and asked to see the facilities in the back- I ended up getting one of the younger employees to confirm my suspicion- they do NOT take the dogs out of the kennel to go to the bathroom nearly enough! they don’t go outside either- my dog was left in her kennel for hours on end- and only taken out once to poop- she sat in her urine inside her cage for hours!!! . My dog was acting lethargic and depressed for days after I picked her up- my fiancé noticed her behavior change also. After speaking to the employees and the head groomer- no one was able to answer my question about why they were leaving my dog for hours on end to pee on herself- I paid a lot of money for them to provide top care while I was away!!!-they won’t show you the kennels where the dogs are staying either- it’s blocked off so you can’t actually see through the glass doors. You need to ask them about how often they take the dogs out- and where they go to the bathroom- it’s appalling to me how mistreated my dog was here!!! Do your due diligence, this place does not have the means to take care of the amount of dogs they accept- your dog will be stuck in a small kennel all day- except for a small break where they go into a urine and feces infested indoor grass area. Im not one to usually complain. But this was a disgrace and I want to protect other peoples pets from experiencing this. It took days and days and multiple baths to try to get the urine stains out of my dogs hair! I had to end up cutting her hair to get it out! This place charges a premium and acts like this is a resort style stay for your dog- it is not! Please think twice before boarding your dog here. I saw reviews and thought it would be good but people don’t ask enough questions- they wash your dog before they return them to you to get all the urine off so you won’t ask questions but my dog is white, the amount of urine and ammonia smell was so upsetting.

We arrived 18 minutes past 7pm due to driving all day and being stuck in traffic. Candace the manager was so kind and still allowed us to check our dog in. She was extremely considerate and we will definitely be back to Dogtown when we are in town!

I brought my 7 month Doberman in for her first visit and the staff worked with her very well. Didnt push her into any of the over active groups, kept her with the more laid back dogs to make sure she was comfortable. Bringing her back this week! Can’t wait to see how much she grows.

We had an amazing experience at River City K9! We did the one week stay and train for our dog Luca. Jenna and her team were incredible! They worked miracles with our hyper dog! Luca was a leash puller who ran towards other dogs and distractions. He was not one who could focus and jumped on everyone in excitement. He can now walk on a leash without pulling, despite various distractions and stimuli. He will sit, stay, and wait on command. He is so focused when he is being asked to be! It is incredible! We will take advantage of the follow up opportunity and HIGHLY recommend River City K9!

My family went on vacation and this was the first time we have ever left our dogs EVER since we have gotten them and we were so worried honestly, but River City K9 was so great! They are very understanding and helpful. They will answer every and any questions you have. They will take you on a tour of the entire place. They send you Photos and updates or your furbabies. Very inexpensive. I couldn’t recommend them enough. They will definitely be used more in the future by my family.

My dogs love River City. They always come home tired, played out, and ready for dinner and bedtime! The staff is great, and the facility is clean.

Do not send your baby here!! Sending my dog to River City K-9 was the worst decision I have ever made. Major attitude problem amongst the workers. Vet bills due to heat exhaustion and dehydration. She left this place traumatized especially after training. She was shaking uncontrollably and no longer was playing with her toys. Made statements that my dog was aggressive which made us worry we would have to put my baby down. I have had her behavior evaluated by two other facilities since this place and they highly disagree with their evaluation. I have my dog going to a new facility and her happy personality has finally come back.

River City K9 is the best place I've found for my lab to stay. The staff are extremely professional, have years of experience, and genuinely care about the welfare of the animals there. They do training, grooming, and daycare in addition to boarding. The facility is beautiful and we love their bath system. My dog loves getting washed there. I also like how this place has individual runs for each kennel, which allows the ability to get exercise and enjoy the outdoors of the weather is nice. We are treated like family there, which makes me feel easy about leaving my dog there and don't worry while I'm away. They even send report cards letting you now how your fur baby is doing, which I love. I trust the owner, Don, and his staff implicitly. I highly recommend this "hotel" away from home!

Have had our 2 Belgian Malinois at River City for 5 and 4 years. The staff and owner Don has been nothing short of incredible.

For over a few years now we've been sending our 2 Greybies to River City K9 whenever we go out of town. The owner Don and his staff take excellent care of our girls, send photos, and call if there's any issues with either of them. They've accommodated earlier drop-offs & later pick-ups so our girls don't have to stay away longer than necessary. Very good about following any Rx schedule they may be on & feed them per the dietary instructions we leave. Honesty prefer having them go to Don's camp vs my adult kids watching them - at least with RC-K9 I know both will be taken care of "properly". Have recommended RC-K9 to several of our friends; ALL feel the same about the excellent care their fur-babies receive while there!

Marcy is our 9 month old Border Terrier. Matt and Kaly worked with her for a week training sit, down, stay, come, heel, and place. The results really are amazing. I can’t say enough about Don and his team at River City K9, great facility and great people. We’re looking forward to the next step of her training in a couple of months. Thank you RCK9!!
