Responsibilities

They usually eat dry food only early three times in the morning around 6:00 (that's when I replace the water) and 9:30. Then they eat three times at the end of the day, around 18:00, around 20:30, and lastly around 22:00. If I'm home, I give them treats throughout the day (5 pieces per cat every time, 4 times per day max - or 20 pieces a cat/day). I have automatic food dispensers, but would also provide some portions in the plastic bags as a backup just in case. I have to say: in the morning, Ragga may try to wake you up as of 5:30 am for food. I hope you're a morning person! He hasn't been doing it lately though. In fact, the more I play with him before going to bed, the more he sleeps in. Leena is a very modest eater, I always release 2 portions of food and hope she eats as much as she can. When she is done and there's still food left, I put it back in the dispenser before Ragga comes to eat it. I'm very careful with seemingly harmless items which can hurt them, like a plastic bag (or any bag with a handle) - Ragga has gotten stuck in my lunch bag once :( Furthermore, although they're cats, they're very much into having a person close by to play or just to be there. They're very fond of interaction with humans, each in their way. This is why I always prefer someone staying over rather than coming and feeding them occasionally - that doesn't mean you cannot go for a long walk or a day trip somewhere ;). In that case, I would suggest that you overfeed them before you go (e.g. if you have a dinner at 19:00, please feed Ragga 2 portions at once and feed Leena whatever she manages to eat before you go). When the weather is nice, I open the balcony and fully trust the cats won't jump out, however I keep it closed when it's too windy - I don't trust the hook which holds the balcony door open.
